Well, as the heading of the thread implies. It's becoming rampant among Nigerian men and I keep wondering what the craze of this new trend is. It would have sounded really romantic if it was not this common lately. Is it that you guys don't have money to give your Gfs befitting gifts and you decide to propose to her to serve as a gift or you just want to use one stone to kill two birds. Er... I must say I am beginning to find it really irritating and wish that men learn how to be more romantic and creative when trying to propose marriage to their Gfs.

I have also seen a rich guy proposed on birthday of her fiancee so it's not all about economizing or no having the money to buy gifts.I think most guys use it because it is a day which she will not easily turn them down
