F00l , he is not losing money. At N1000 he will still be making profit. He simply chose to reduce his profit to help the masses. Afterall, he is already a very wealthy man.
Cement in Nigeria is outrageously overpriced. Their major excuse has always been the cost of powering the plants. We expect the price to even fall further once the power situation and reforms,thanks to GEJ, translates into improved power supply. That a company reduces it's prices does not mean it's making losses.

Dangote and a few others promised the government that they will move from rebagging cement from Asia to actually manufacturing it here once his obajana plant starts producing at full capacity, so far he is the one keeping to that promise.

Many are still in the business of importing bulk cement and rebagging it, how long are we going to run our economy on importation.

When Ibeto and Dangote had serious issues to the point the OBJ government closed down Ibeto it took the YaraduA-JEG government to get a reprieve and even got additional benefits, no vat paid on his imported cement and about some billions paid to him as damages..... They won't be able to come back! There is what is called entry barrier. Apart from entry barrier, competitors now know Dangote can play dirty. They know if they come back, he will still send them away by lowering price. So why would they waste their money?
