obioraval: @ Oga AJANLEKOKO and the other chairmen here, i greet you all. I must confess this thread really helped me in defining my career choice. I began reading this thread since 2010 when i was still a student and i graduated in 2011 with a 2'1, while awaiting my NYSC i undertook a training with TTC mobile. Currently i just finished my NYSC (june 2013) and following the advice i got from this thread i am currently with a telecom implementation firm that manages BTS installation as a graduate trainee. for my colleagues that just passed out, stop waiting for job of 250k cos sadly and unfortunately the jobs aint there unless you got EXPERIENCE. go for the experience. time is coming when your brain and experience will make you worth millions.... Thank you all

Happy for you, this same opportunity is what I am looking for. I have even volunteered to work for free. I also passed through TTC mobile.
As per experience, I partook in Huawei BTS installation and ZTE network optimization for a month. Still searching for opportunities to volunteer.
May God help us all.

Check out merit telecoms and Astera. And send your cv as a graduate trainee. You could physically go to merit telecoms office and drop your cv

Good day, my brothers........ To God be the Glory, after applying for B.SC. Information and Communication Science in UNILORIN for the past two years, I was admitted and given ICS this year. I want you boss hear to be a mentor to me. What are the other professional courses that I can be doing now as a first year student. I need your advice on what is on in the labour market and any tech-based company that can accept me for free work (with my no certificate), if it is possible. Kindly give out other important advice that you know I need as a newbie.

No need for that.
Just go and study. In the course of your learning, you will identify what your interests are likely to be, then you can focus.
Don't let the air of desperation in Nigeria shift your focus, which at this time should be solely doing well and graduating with a good degree.
Everything else comes later.

I think TTC is located at GRA, Ikeja right. Since you studied industrial physics it won't be a bad idea. I usually do advice people who want do take on professional exams should do so in relation to their career prospect and not just gunning for any professional exam cos of the certificate.

where do you intend to work and which course did you enrol? It's a good course but I think a more flexible and less competitive programe would be good.

It boils down to your passion and what you feel you can do best. Industrial Physics and a telecommunications programmer is not a bad idea. You need to look at applying for jobs as well. You can still get trained by your employer. Do you want to go the entrepreneurial route?

Yes. Like any other industry. A statistician can work in business intelligence, market planning, geo-marketing, business planning, Sales Planning, even HR.
If you know your onions as a statistician you can work anywhere.
