Seems Nairaland is due for a thunderous ultra-feminist thread.

Hahaha me too! Hi power did it for me, I still got it on my phone and listen to it once in a while for inspiration "who says a black man in the illuminati, last time I checked that was the biggest racist party"

Haha I'm an avid follower of the breakfast show, I love the dynamic between those trio, Envy is the cool funny one, chalarmagne is the crass one who rips people a new as*shole & Angela yee is the one bringing a female perspective to discussions.

I've seen Chalarmagne go in on some of the guests like kanye, cassie,... The guy is crazy, he makes it fun.

Kendrick is another in a line of Dre's proteges, at the moment, he's holding the torch for the west coast, dude proclaimed himself makavelli's offspring and nobody's challenging him.
Lol, "Hiiipower" is my tune!! These bars just got me, "Visions of Martin Luther staring at me/Malcolm X put a X on my future, someone catch me/I'm falling victim to a revolutionary song, the Serengeti's clone."

Then, "Grown men never should bite their tongue/Unless you eating pu.ssy that smell like it's a stale plum." I think you need to listen to the whole "Section 80" mixtape to understand why I might even put that mixtape over the classic "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" album...ahead of his time.

The dynamic of the trio is mad, hence they blew up quick and have been able to create a very big brand in the hiphop community. That's what happens when you keep it real and don't kiss people's butts like the rest do. The realness...and Charlamagne Tha God is the "All-star" but the rest provide other things.

Bruv, I think you need to see how Charlarmagne made Lil Mama cry, and also the one with Fredro Starr loool. He got under Fredro Starr's skin so bad that the guy almost turned it into a fist fight - hysterical. The guy is nuts! And you can also to gauge how intelligent a lot of these artists are.

Personally, I'm always looking forward to interviews with certain artists. 50cent: when it comes to business, the guy is intelligent and he talks about a lot of practical stuffs you won't get in the classroom. Wale: for his passion and the realness he brings to interview. He talks like the ghost of 2pac. Ditto J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar etc.. And there was this rapper they interviewed from the South, Kevin Gates, who looks obnoxious with tattoos on his face. But when he opened his mouth - the guy just started dropping a lot of jewels. I was in shock. That's what I like about how they interview artists. Then you just have to love whenever they interview rappers from the 90s and early noughties. That nostalgic feeling about those you grew up listening to their music, and the way they navigate through different topics, is always refreshing.

West Coast has always had great lyricists but they just never got their shine in the mainstream like the rest. Even without the popular ones - DOC, Spice 1, and Rass Kass were super-lyrical. G-funk rap will always be my first love in hip hop - so best believe I'll always be somewhat partial to the West Coast. Yay Yay in Ice Cube's voice! grin

Lmao, you defo. know what time it's. That vicious George Foreman right hand that turned loads of boxers to damaged goods and shot boxers. Once get knocked out cold with that shiit, there's no coming back. You'd be out for hours, and when you regain consciousness - you can huff and puff everywhere, but you'll never be the same again.

Yes, once you've got varieties in terms of chics with top-notch quality, there's always that window of opportunity to always exert authority. Especially when you're in a space where you don't have to do much. But regardless, that shouldn't negate the fact that you've to always keep it real, and put folks in check if need be. The bums and repulsive ones are always the loudest.

Nah, I wasn't alluding to first date. I was talking about old linkages on dormant, and reactivating them to continue where you left off. You need proper conversations with new chics, so cinema will always be a bad idea. Anyway, hunting for new chics during winter is just long, with everyone covered up, and people staying indoors most times. Unless you meet them at a gathering, and that also depends on mood.

Fam, I always cheat with the cinema shiit cos movies most times get to the UK late. So, I always make sure I watch the movie on the internet before going there. Once I get there, I just find my spot somewhere in the corner at the back. And you know with chics, it won't take long before they put their heads on ya shoulder. With that, you'll just kick off with the appetiser, before the main course, when you get home.

Yes, I've seen both. "The Equalizer" is just the typical hero movie Sir Denzel (the coolest muthaphucka ever) is into these days. I like how they ended it though. He travelled all the way to Moscow, to kill the supreme head of the Russian mob with the mofo still in shower. The mofo said, "peace is expensive, but I can buy it for you." Came out and was electrocuted lol. The movie is somewhat similar to all the straight-to-DVD films Wesley Snipes used to do when he was blacklisted, and subsequently locked up for tax fraud. I'm a big Denzel Washington fan, and I always watch his movies.

Fury is a war movie, but it's very brutal and looks like a horror movie. Brad Pitt killed it as usual, though the storyline is somewhat sketchy. But I want to see it again on the big screen. Probably this weekend cos one of my exes has been troubling me about going to the cinema.

Nah, I've never spoken to her off NL, she's still on probation lol. She just gets too emotional sometimes, and I like my privacy and space. I kind of still have that mentality of being a ghost and not putting your face everywhere. Just keep it real, banter, and only share generic things about ya experience without putting a face to it. That just comes with the territory and the need not to blow ya own trumpet everywhere. However, I would say I like her tenacity, the realness she brings, and the "I don't give a fvck" attitude...though I don't agree with her overbearing feminism. She's like one of my old e-friends, and she used to say a lot of interesting things. Perhaps cos she attended an HBCU and she somewhat understands an experience I can relate to. But she's a cool chic regardless of our disagreements and, on and off e-friendship.
Hahaha true!!

I think hunting chic is the winter is more favourable, in this cold weather single chics yearn for some contacts so they're more likely to be receptive.. Not too certain though, just my theory.

Anyway I'm too lazy to hunt these days, I don't think I have the time & patience for that stress anymore, so in the meantime, I'd rather stick to chics I already know. You know how it goes.

Denzel Washington is such a cool guy with a very calm disposition and at the same time, is able to portray really aggressive characters when he needs to, his versatility & performance puts him in league of his own. The guy is in his 60s but looks like 40s, even young chics drool over him.

I will try and see those movies, the last movie I saw was the expendables 3, I love action/high octane movies.

I haven't seen shollypopz on NL in a while, she doesn't need to get emotional, she gets as much as she dishes out so it's fair game! Anyway we've been on each other's neck for the past two and half years so it's nothing new, I even enjoy her obnoxious attitude, it's part of what makes NL fun.

Yeah I saw that lil mama one, chalarmagne just kept going at her... You need to see how he ripped into Cassie, she was still being polite and nice about it but he kept pushing it, i really felt sympathy for her.. The guy is a bully. I think he picks his fight carefully though, you only see him go after guys like drake, kanye... rumour has it Jay Z once had him fired for talking shi*t.

50 cent is proof you don't need education to be intelligent, when you listen to him talk about real stuff, you'd see he has that street smartness even business professors don't have & he still has the thug mentality which makes him one of the worse enemies you could have, nothing more lethal than a thug with lots money.

West coast did have their shine between the mid 80s - mid 90s with NWA & then Death row but since pac died, it's never been the same. I don't care anyway... west coast, east coast, I fuc*k with all of them, all long as music is good, I'm a fan.

Ma'am, in as much as I think the women are largely to blame for single mum households in the UK (men are also complicit in it but to a lesser extent) because the law favours them, and they always use it to their own advantage. I think most of the clowning we do on here are about scandalous biitches, and not good women. And like I've always said, there are two types of women: scandalous biitches and good women.

Also, whenever you see 50calibre and I doing our normal banter. It's just basically guys' chat, with no holds barred and no filter. The same way guys do whenever they're together talking about different topics: from sports, to career, to life, to movies, to women etc.. Hence we always drift from one subject-matter to the other. Thus derailing the threads most times in the process. We're just brash with no manners, and that comes with the territory, especially when you're assertive. It also comes with being real and not trying to protect a fictitious image, on a faceless forum. We just say it as it's, and damn the consequences. And if folks want to catch feelings on that, that's their prerogative.

However, whatever we say isn't about all women. We know there are tons of great women out there. Even as fvcked up as this forum is with all kinds of weirdos and obnoxious duffers, who always want to push their insecurities and self-esteem on you for saying it as it's. I'd say I can sift through all the airheads, and impulsive weirdos - and cite four female posters on here that are decent based on our conversations. Also, I know loads of decent chics offline. And I'll never disrespect and malign folks like that. They're queens.

Regardless, don't fret, we're high fliers with good heads on our shoulders. And a lot of black men who don't always go out of their way to appease scandalous women like white knights - the non-conformists to stupid trends - are achieving greatness. We're old school and we see the world through our pops' eyes, coupled with our uniqueness of our experiences. So, you should know we've got the skill-set to exert authority as the head of the family. Hence we're always keen to maintain a certain standard of what a virtuous woman should be, while putting the scandalous ones in check. And when we're in a mental space to select the right partners, we'll always go for women who would complement, and inspire us - with the same outlook to life.

Anyway, thanks for the post and may God bless ya marriage. However, I wouldn't call you a feminist because you're family oriented, and you asserted that you also worship the floor your husband walks on. Also, you believe he's the ordained/natural head of the family. I think you're a womanist, and I like that.
Shalom black queen! cool
and you sound like you have had a fair share of these scandalous bitttches since they are all you know of. birds of a feather flock together

You don't really get to see the best chics during winter and it is always better to hunt during summer, and snipe during winter. You just keep them there till winter.

Yes, hunting aggressively is just long. Really and truly, you don't need more than one or two links who know where they stand. And don't get too much in ya space. Especially at this stage which is more about building a solid career and creating a master plan of what you want ya future family to look like. Too many chics are a distraction and most of them would just drain you mentally. Past that stage of trying to beat as many chics as possible - colly and Uni shiit lol.

I'd say I have probably chirpsed just one chic in the last 6-12 months, apart from chics from around the way who know someone that I know and vice versa.

The funniest thing is that: I haven't seen any of the expendables. I read great reviews about them, just wasn't too bothered perhaps cos I don't like Stallone's face lol. Every time I see him these days, I just see his mum's face.

Sholly just has too much estrogen and testosterone, and they clash from time to time. She wants to be the boss but at the same time get emotional lool. Anyway, as she grows older with a better understanding of the ideology she's into, the history, and the nuances among the various factions vis a vis what's attainable in the society to maintain order. I believe she'll see the bigger picture and calm down.

I still maintain that perfection in the parlance of the op IS possible. Not everyone is acccultured and valueless. That's why simple things like respect will seem so Stone Age to some people. I do not believe it ought to be so.

I have answered everything. Just a simple answer you cannot decipher. I typed 'long epistles' to emphasize my answer. I didn't fail English and can NEVER fail it, both at undergtaduate and postgraduate level. the man's duty is to love the woman, and her duty is to revere the man. Its not a hard thing for me to do, my part. It is not Medieval. To me.

Sir Ilekokoit,

I told my friends in our group chat today about your thesis, and subsequently emailed it to them. It cracked them up but they have all printed their own copies now lol. Personally, I think you can turn it into a cash cow by balancing the equation with your thoughts on "Tips on keeping a good African woman" - and combine both into a little book. Like a guide.

Even if Nigerians aren't interested in it, I think people from other races getting married to Africans might like it.

Anyway, I'm thinking about creating a static free website for what you posted here. I will align everything properly with decent font, and make it look more attractive. It is just going to be an experiment for feedbacks from folks from a different demographic.

What's up with those 50 headphones, when u first heard he was launching his brand of head phones, I thought what a terrible business idea as dre beats already got the game on lockdown, but recently I've been hearing the headphones are doing well in Europe and they're cheaper.

That BMF movie thingy sounds promising, if he indeed bought the rights, then just might be into something big the problem is; he's going to have to pull out all the stops to land some big name stars. There's also this TV show he's involved in called Power, I heard its gaming popularity in the US.

Hahaha as for kendrick being king of New York? That's arguable, he's not enjoyed enough commercial success to declare himself king (except there are other benchmarks to measure by) I will have to give that title to Hov, his longevity, nearly 20 years in the game and still maintaining his relevance... In my opinion, he's conveniently earned that title.

Anyway, I'm thinking about creating a static free website for what you posted here. I will align everything properly with decent font, and make it look more attractive. It is just going to be an experiment for feedbacks from folks from a different demographic.
No worries. Feel free to use the content as you wish. Most of whats thereon is what was common sense to women of a certain generation in times past.

Regarding "Tips on keeping a good African woman", I can only give tips from a man's vantage point and so I'll have to leave the "good African woman" bit to the ladies who feel they are "Good African women" if they are not too proud / ashamed to identify with their Africanness.

Regarding the static free website, you have my blessings but as to anticipated feedback from folks from a different demographic, my guess is that the only people who will see the wisdom in the nuggets are those men who will stop at nothing to preserve traditional African culture / family values and the very few women who remember or appreciate what traditional African culture / family values is all about.

The wisdom of the points in my article will always be like poison to any one who believes that oyinbo culture is superior to African culture. And there seems to be a lot of people with such erroneous belief.

Talk about spreading your pearl before swine.

Obviously, but you know 50cent always has something up his sleeves. The headphones never really looked attractive to me, and it was like they were saturating the headphones market with too many hybrids. Heck, even Ludacris has one, and I think DJ Khaled just launched one as well. But 50cent took it to the next level, and he got Carmelo Anthony on board. I think he signed a deal with some major company this year (I can't remember the actual details now).

I heard "Power" has mad ratings in America, but I've not watched it. Seen the preview. Power move. For the BMF movie, I think he should get Movie Director, Antoine Fuqua, and Denzel Washington involved. Those guys are box office. Both Antoine Fuqua and Denzel have very good chemistry from "Training Day" - and the guy also directed "Brooklyn's Finest" and "The Equalizer." And he's black and would be able to turn it into gold.

Nah, Nas is the King of NY - he ethered Jay Z. And Nas' "New York State of Mind" is far superior to Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind." grin Kendrick is the future though.

Thanks. Even most of the things you listed are just things that are meant to be part of the character traits of any virtuous woman. Especially those raised by great parents. Also, most of them don't understand how rich the African culture is, and how culture represent's identity. And once you lose your identity - no one is going to respect you.

Hopefully, they'll stop clowning around like kids and create a thread to balance the equation.

Can Aisha2, babygirlfl, 2catwoman, andromida et al create a thread about "Tips To Keeping A Good African Woman" please? Real topic, not the simplistic ones I've been seeing since yesterday. A proper thesis like the Emeritus Prof. did.

·     NEVER EVER feel that there are many fish in the ocean (not all fish are good. Some are poisonous in the short or long run)
·     If you get a good man, do your best to keep him irrespective of what your “friends” say as ENOUGH African men are delaying marriage because of the aggression and wild ways of the potential suitors currently available
·     Realise that the phrase money is not everything did not just fall from the sky. There was a reason it was coined those many years ago
·     Realise that a lot of “proper” African men see educated African women as too combative and so tone down your “gra gra” when you are in his company
·     You may be a manager of teacher at work but drop those badges at the door before you enter the house as no African likes being lectured by his woman. You are his woman and not his lecturer.
·     If you meet a new guy who is honest enough to tell you he is currently unemployed, never assume that he is going to ask you for money as REAL African men never ask a woman for money nor collect such if offered
·     Never get used to living alone for too long lest you become so used to your freedom, space and singleness that sub-consciously you frustrate every new man you meet because your spirit wants to remain free
·     Realise that NOT everything that helps you climb the career ladder is helpful to your marriage. Some of them are destructive to African marriages
·     Never use sex as a weapon
·     Whenever your hubby chooses a late night hubby away from the home or chooses to go alone to the beer parlor repeatedly instead of staying with you at home and only comes back at around 2am or later on a consistent basis then he is trying to say to you that his love for you is dying a slow death and he can no longer bear your company as you are making his life miserable at home and/or you are no longer listening to him
·     Don’t neglect your man supposedly because of religious duties, realise that there is a time for everything and Don’t spend too many hours at church/mosque leaving your man lonely at home
·     Don’t hide behind religion or religious phrases just to control your man, Don’t choose to pontificate and sermonize him instead of discussing real issues with your non-religious hat on
·     Don’t adopt a holier than thou attitude with him
·     Don’t lecture him, Don’t sermonize when he is discussing something with you with his rational mind
·     Don’t form the bad habit of lying to him especially if he is truthful to you
·     NEVER put your career or business above your relationship !!!
·     Don’t feel your joint kids are your property or a meal ticket for you in the future and never use his kids as a weapon or bargaining ticket with him
·     NEVER turn his children against him
·     Be kind to him
·     Don’t practice NLP - neuro linguistic programming (or any other type of mind control techniques that Westernised women use to climb the career ladder) on him as most smart men know when they are being manipulated
·     Never use NLP techniques on him when discussing issues with him in a ploy to put him on the defensive so that you will win the argument
·     Don’t argue with him unnecessarily or argue with him just to tick your log book of arguments you have won with him
·     Don’t try to control him IN ANY WAY
·     Don’t give him orders
·     Don’t argue with him just for arguments sake
·     Don’t wind him up or stress him when there is no need for it
·     If you try to control him or play unnecessary mind games on him or try to control his mind in the first few weeks of meeting him, then chances are that that relationship will not last (that’s even if it starts in the first place)
·     Remember that unnecessarily or repeatedly stressing your man only quickens the end of that relationship
·     Realise that “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” is just a book that Steve Harvey made loads of money from.
·     A lady should always be a lady In
her actions and in thoughts and “Acting Like a Lady and
Thinking Like a Man” is not just difficult to maintain, it is
deceptive, it portrays the woman as unnecessarily
competitive and aggressive and is a sure fire way to a quick divorce or separation

·     Wishing you all the best as you search for that “Good” African man of which there are loads IF YOU KNOW HOW TO KEEP THEM INTERESTED FOR THE LONG HAUL
Only read the first paragraph and I just knew the African described here have to grow his own African women in his back yard garden, or lab in his garage. Goodluck to you if you find one. Adios African man and hello white, or Asian men to me!

What a load of crap! angry

Birds of the same feathers flock together.

Keep allowing your inanimate object husband to keep deceiving you and giving you a semblance of being married.

The truth is always bitter to people who are set in their ways.

And yet the Oyinbo man you are copying his ways refuses to marry you and if they ever date you, they date the exceptionally attractive ones amongst you as a trophy babe and a lot of times for sexual curiosity and experimentation plus the additional bragging rights to their friends at the pub.

Is it any wonder that there is an epidemic of ageing never married single feminist African women with grey hairs ALL OVER the globe but they are still so hard of hearing that they REPEATEDLY mismanage their relationships with African men with this their unrepentant stubbornness.

How can you be the woman and at the same time want to be the man in a relationship huhhuh

Carry on and when menopause and the unavoidable effects of ageing sets in all round, your eye go clear.
menopause
