@Mangam,l feel your loss but do not give up, u have learnt what never to do again when u cultivate again. l watched an agric program where a woman lost 5 acres of strawberry farm to pests in 2013 but today she has learnt her lessons and now smiling. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Day 42: Flowering continues, I had to spray fungicide to avoid flower shedding. I couldn't get Z force, but I got Fungu force still from Jubaili Agrotec. 1 Like

gowaga68:Let me try to answer your question. I will advise you go for buying of the seed. It pays off at the end 'cos the seed would have been specially treated to be resistant or tolerant to some diseases. Technisem usually coat their seeds with fosin which is an antifungal substance, everyone you plant germinates(my experience ). I believe others will have ways of protecting their seeds too. Make enquiry and get best variety based on your purpose of planting. |

Pappyshoes: thanks for your input never knew they were Technisem's seed.. have been finding a way to get some seeds (Paw Paw and others) from them.. would i have to be buying the seeds every year from them or can i use the ones i get from the first harvest for onward planting? |

gowaga68:I think I ve answered your question. If you are dealing with high volume of seeds, you may have to be buying. Others that have successfully planted seeds from their harvest can throw more light by sharing their experience anyway. 2 Likes |

Sincerely, this man have carefully stated what it take to grow successful watermelon. But this one thing I want to cheap in, using of any how seeds can cause more harm to the grower, > You don't know the conditions which the fruit have pass through in the farm, you are not sure of disease that might have affected the fruits @ farm site, also in genetic; there are things we called segregation and in breeding depression, all these have great impact on replanted seeds and it have great effect on our yield. You can always get your seed from AGRITROPIC LTD @ CUSTOM BUS STOP IBADAN, or you CALL SAM 08052937326,OR DAYO 08030886296.. Or add this line on whatsapp: 08098256685. I mean all kinds of vegetable seeds. God bless u all. 2 Likes |
