Please visit the villages in Abia State, especially the Arochukwu-Bende area. Stop coming here to display your ignorance. I'm actually 'facepalming' on your behalf right now.

When I talk of atr. I mean ifa and co. We need to picture what the future will be like . And we have to shape it. For me I want to see the atr practitioners as I would call it. Use their gifts in medical science, astronomy and innovations.. Be masters of the art. Just like we have in india . The likes of soyinka have done it in the literary sector

yh u right, African spiritual philosophies aren't respected by the larger population of Africans so it's very difficult as priests aren't given a voice
There's more adherents in South America and the Caribbeans than in West Africa where the true slaves lay

the guy is so funny. Something I grew up witnessing every time we travel to the village when I was small. The ekpe society is still a strong one in mbaise. Who's key members remain kind of faceless . They use masquerades and "ekpo" masks to cover their faces during public performance to keep their identities hidden from the public.

Tagged: dailynews. What do you remember from ekpe society and their displays during iri ji ohuru festival.

be banned for exposing your fraud? you are a revisionist historian, you are the fraud here and you and your cohorts need to be banned.

Ekpe and Its sacred Language is the cultural heritage of Efik/ ibibio people and not Igbos, so your whole "Igbo nsibidi" is a fraud and should be expunged from this website until you tell the truth about Nsibidi.

You cannot build anything on a faulty foundation and expect it to stand. You cant steal the Efik/ Ibibio cultural identity! Igbos should look around their culture and find something to be proud of not stealing a cultural heritage that does not belong to them, Thats my point.

WHO TOLD YOU, ONLY THE NAME NSIBIDI, IS AN IGBO NAME, NSIBIDI IS JUST AS IGBO AS THE NAME CAN BE, MIND YOU IGBO AND EFIKS SHARE A LOT CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTIXCALLY...DO YOU KNOW THAT EKPE IS STILL PRACTISED IN SOME PART OF IGBO LAND LIKE ARO

so do not rewrite history

For the records the Nsibidi got into igbo traditions via the Ohafia people of the present day Abia state . who migrated from Obolo(Andoni) . together they went with the nsibidi which is an age long ancient secret language/writting of the Ofiokpo secret society found in Obolo(Andoni) .
The Nsibidi is also used by the Ekpe Society in neighbouring Efik Kingdom.
but at no time was Nsibidi originally an Igbo Idea.
My igbo brothers Acknowledge this fact and lets stop the Nsibidi fight.
The Ofiokpo society are still custodians of The Original Nsibidi Language/writting.

Nsibidi is neither an efik nor Ibibio invention .... The group credited for the writing which is dated between 4000 to 5000 Bc were the Uguakima, Ebe and Uyanga and eventually the Ekoi of the present day Cross River State ( these groups are also spread throughout southern cameroun). The Ekoi through their contact with the Ibibios/Efiks of the southern part of the present day cross river introduced the writing to them. The Ekpe used it but did not invent it.

The Ibibios most likely transfered it to other sub-groups in the area as they were the dominant civilisation at the time. The Igbos were actually late "comers" in the Ibibio civilizing sphere of the the present day cross-river and Akwa Ibom and eventually came in contact with the system of writing.

I for one do not know why NOTOB wants to derail this beautifull thread through his lack of basic research.

I do not see any person from Southern cameroun complaining that other africans are interested and learning their basic system of writing.

It really doesn't matter who invented what provided it is being studied and put to good use for the development of the continent....

I bet you did not know who invented the cloth you were wearing today.

thanks and be well

And no igbo can deny that.

So who owns it is now more important than improving it? That's why Africans find it hard to improve. Senseless feuds take up the energy that would have been used for more productivity

Na wa. Come to Abia state and see Ekpe things. The fact is that Efik,Ibibio and Igbo share lots of things. No amount of denial can erase that relationship.

Nobody is against its improvement.
You don't sideline the author of a novel because you are trying to improve his work in a movie.
Acknowlegde the owners of Nsibidi.
Why are the igbos trying to Hijack our agelong Cherished Nsibidi?
