I have a question o. A friend of mine who just passed out of Nysc wants to apply for study permit. She got a job before Pop and has resumed consequently. Now she wants to apply for trv. is it better she apply as an unemployed or employed? She planned submitting her application by January and I have seen on this forum once that one must be atleast a year in his/her work place before someone could apply for study leave. Please advice

She only needs to submit her employment details which includes employment letter, pay slips, letter of academic leave etc they serve as home ties... its never started that one must be a year in his/her work place b4 applying ok.

That's why I advice mailing the graduate office first. For example, on USak websites, they said a 2"1 can apply for Msc. I mailed teh grad office of the department and the grad secretary told me explicitly that if I am from Nigeria and I did not make a 1st class, I should not bother applying.

Different Schools; Different Rules. Different Departments within the same school; Different Rules. But everything looks cool on paper or on the website.
Now I know y USAK didn't give me admission when I applied earlier this year I wasn't given the admission I sent a mail to the school to find out why??and they told me they had people with higher CGPA and I had a 2:1 dint know they only wanted people with 1st class but on the school profile if your grade is above 3.0 you can apply and I had 3.70. Na wa ooo

Hello house.
Please I have a few questions and would require some help.
1. Can i get a Msc admission in Environmental Engineering with a CGP of 3.07 in Chemical Engineering UG in any uni in Canada ( I know it's difficult but is it possible)?.
2. Is a graduate certificate same as a post graduate diploma?
3. I have funds for just a year fees and accommodation. What are the pros/cons of going for a year (GC/MS/PGd) as against the 2 year programs ubiquitous in Canadian institutions?.
4. I am looking at a Environmental Engineering apps GC program at Constoga College. Is it a good idea employment wise in Canada?
5. I was told a 2 year study visa has advantages over a 1 year as expected. But what are these advantages in relation to staying on in Canada.
Thank you o.

Morning NLanders, I mailed ACCRAIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca requesting for my POE letter yesterday, how long does it take for them to make d letter available? And secondly should I expect to receive the letter in my mail box or in MyCIC account?

The POE/LOE is nt necessary.Once you have your trv, you can come to canada at any time. They have all your info stored in their system. So for those getting worried, its nt a requirement. You pple shud relax

But on a more serious note that is bad of them. I even linked the page to where they said a 2"1 from Nigeria can apply but the grad secretary gave me her personal opinion to "consider other options".

Emperor and Naby, I don't know how you guys pulled up your apps o! but I think the issue might be from there. For example, emperor is going as a transfer student. Naby is talking about uni transcripts too.

When I reapplied for admission after deferring, I wasn't asked to send any toefl result. Una must have selected an option in the application steps that triggered that toefl thing. And, I advised emperor to go and start afresh in mun... forget the transfer thing,,, u might not enjoy it...Na ur choice though.

You guys might want to Logon to the MUN self service portal and go through the questions again. The part that asked for the level that defines you, choose that you are an high skool leaver....

Cos, Nigeria still dey on their ELT exempt list.

@tnuola, hope you still dey pray? wink

Yes! 4 million is enough. Just present your application well and write a good SOP.

Yes! You can use your in-law. I used mine too as a co-sponsor.

Now the difference is what are the responsibilities of sponsor and co-sponsor and how are they different. I do not know much. But the way mine was done is that my sponsor (my dad) took responsibility of tuition, accomodation, feeding, health and everything. My co-sponsor (my brother in-law) said he is ready to give me 2M per year for each year is spend to help with some necessities. You can draft your own in a different way but just know PRESENTATION MATTERS. Don't present a cliche format or document that the VO has possibly read 200 times in the past month.

imagine that, they should remove that page or better still tell people directly on d page that they only need 1st class students instead of giving someone hope and when the person apply, he/she won't be given admission....its really bad of them

I'm going for a second degree but they wrote "transfer student" in my app, I kept on telling them that I don't want to transfer, I want to start from the beginning, they din't listen, guess that's the reason for the Ietls.
But, if I reapply and put high school instead of uni, won't it be somehow because on my previous app, I put uni
