Grand Valley State University.. That's the name of the school that gave me i20.
I was not asked if I did any standardized test, if not I would have provided my GRE score result.
I was also not asked for sponsor's bank statement, if not I had it with me and even my own bank statement.
The way the interview went was exactly how, I wrote it here.

Moreso, you need a better if not professional communications in administrative duties. I've been given admission to study for a MSc in Communications in the aforementioned school.

And I work as an Administrative Officer for my company. So I was going to study for a MSc degree in Communications, so that I could be considered for promotion.

Your reason for choosing that school was off. It was like cram work. You need to work on that and refire. All the best

My visa was refused yesterday @ the US consulate in Lagos. I'm so surprised I was refused my visa despite confidently answering all questions asked, clearly.. This is my transcript for the gurus in the house.

Interview commenced @ about 9:00am after all the checks and screening.. Then my number appear @ box 2:

Me: Goodmorning!
V.O: Goodmorning (female Consular officer in box 2)

After placing my fingers on their stuff..

V.O: Why did you choose the school?
Me: I choose the school because it offers me a curriculum that addresses the features of professional communications that will help me to be proactive in my decision-making process, especially in the area of administrative affairs.

V.O: How did you find out about the school?
Me: I searched through some educational websites like Princeton reviews and USnews.com

V.O: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My father

V.O: What does he do?
Me: He is a structural engineer and real estate investor

V.O: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before?
Me: Yes

V.O: Where
Me: I have been to Ghana

And then she was typing.. Then I was expecting to hear OK, congratulations or something.. Then she handed back my passport, I20 and DS160 confirmation back to me, including the blue paper and said, I am sorry.. bla, bla..

------

The blue paper says.. this is to inform you that you been found ineligible for a nonimmigrant visa under Section 214(b) of the US Immigration and Nationality Act. A denial under Section 214(b) means that you did not meet the requirements of the classification of the nonimmigrant visa for which you applied for. Today's decision cannot be appealed. However, you may reapply at any time. If you decide to reapply, you must submit a new application form and photo, pay the visa application fee again as applicable and be interview by a consular officer. If you choose to reapply, you should be prepared to provide information that was not presented in your original application, or to demonstrate that your circumstances have changed since that application.
Sorry to hear this Bro. You might have been denied based on ur answers. Remember she has all ur information on her computer in front of her. One of ur answers perhaps contradicted what u filled in ur DS-160 application form. So brother, make the necessary corrections and go back to collect ur Visa. God bless you

Good day all,
It was a sad day for me at the US Embassy at the nation's capital, Abuja on Dec. 3.
I Prayed wella fah, and went with some good level of confidence. For my mind, their father, they will give me this visa today cos my siblings and parents have been given at one time or the other without denial.

1st Time Appearance and I was denied my F-1 Visa. sad

Interview:

Me - Good morning ma,
VO - Gm
VO - What are you going to do in the US
Me - I'm going to study for my masters degree in business admin so that on completion i'll return to take full control of the family business after acquiring adequate business skills.
VO - What did you study for Undergraduate degree?
Me - Bsc. Computer Science
VO - Why did I choose my Uni - California Intl. Bus. University
Me - Because the Uni is solely devoted to business
VO - (She cuts in) but there are other Unis that are solely devoted to business
Me - (I cut in) and also has low tuition fees compared to other of such unis
VO - (she nods her head) ( and she's been typing most of the time) (i can't remember at what time she stops to attend to me and point she types) (she's been smiling and i've also been smiling along)
VO - She asked for my Gre
Me - My school does not require a GRE
VO- How much does the family business make
Me - Told her about 100k every month
VO - Can I have your statement of account?
Me - I gave it to her - (account has an almost 100m naira fixed deposit but my uncle's law firm)
VO - Who is my Sponsor?
Me - My Dad
VO - What does he do?
Me - He's a lawyer
(pause) and owns the law firm
VO - sorry, we can not give you a visa at this time ( then hands me over a document that gives reasons why i was denied)
Me - in my mind as i collected the document ( why una like to dey Bleep up like this )

Meanwhile when it was my turn, she ( window 8 ) called for next, the window 7 lady called almost immediately, if i had known i would have just changed movement to the window 7 lady. i only went to window 8 cos she granted the applicant before me visa.

Pls house, i don't know my offense o. Really don't know why she denied me. The school resumes 5th January 2015. Don't know what i have to correct if i have to go for another visa interview before the school resumes.

Please i need your advise. URGENT!

Thanks.

Switching is the best when they get to Obamaland but most people don't know just because they dont want to write any test like Gre/Ielts/Toefl/SAT/Gmat to secure admission and they will be looking for school who does not require Gre to admit them for Msc in Business Admin...

Maybe agent got him the admission if i am not wrong

Why are students running away from tests? Tests open doors for financial aids and best programs and they enrich us. They put folks in student mode at the embassy.

@bold, is only student who are running away from tests can answer this oooo

Good tests score will give students scholarship and save them from doing a year English class when they get to Obamaland but most people dont understand and when they get to their dream school, they will start complaining that the school is asking them to write COMMON ENTRANCE before they can start classes..

Make God help us....

I need God's help more than anyone because this year is going to an end.. 27 days to 2015
