StarBoard:The incessant blame on injuries and The reluctance to scrutinize Some of LVG's methods, bro.. At the beginning of the season, the attempt to distance LVG from the aquisition of Herrera and shaw when the man categorically said he approved those signings gave me an insight on the kinda protection the Dutchman was always gonna get here. It's good to have an excellent worldcup before resuming as man utd coach sha. ![]() |

Dadehmola:Nobody is blaming everything on injuries. The real reason this argument erupted is because some people (no names mentioned) aided by external figures felt van Gaal didn't bring anything new despite spending 160 million in the summer and compared his tenure to Moyes because the tabloids were doing same. I have said that van Gaal is still playing to the gallery as regards Rooney and the captaincy, but it is unfair not to notice any improvement between this year's campaign and last. The fact is we cannot discount the impact those injuries have had. If I may ask, what would you criticize of van Gaal's methods? |

StarBoard:Only RVP complained of Moyes training methods during his reign. Under Gaal many f the injuries were from training. Particularly at the early stage before we bought players. In terms of injuries, Gaal has no excuse. He always had a decent starting XI as compared to Moyes. Any coach who has the luxury of keeping Mata, Herrera, Carrick, Falcao , Januzaj and Fletcher on th bench is a lucky coach. I haven't the stat for Kean. I am not dispose for that now. |

StarBoard:Like I said earlier, This season definitely looks more promising... StarBoard:Ofcourse there is an improvement. The crux of the matter here is the constant attempt to shield LVG from scrutiny even when the manager should take the blame for some of our disappointing results. StarBoard:The "injury-card" yet again.... Starboard,Would you blame these results on injuries?? • Our inability to beat Swansea at oldtrafford in our 1st match. • The 4-0 embarrassment at Mk dons • Throwing away a 3-1 lead at lowly Leicester. •lethargic performances (especially in attack) against burnley and crystal palace despite the manager having the likes of di Maria, Rooney, RVP, mata, blind StarBoard:• Playing 3CBs even when it's crystal clear the team struggles whenever that formation is implemented. •starting di Maria in a CMF pivot and replacing him with januzaj ( the game against burnley, I think). •freezing Herrera out completely ( before our last 2 matches). • persistently sticking with a misfiring RVP in certain games even when he had other options. • The injuries that have plagued the team despite having fewer matches to play ( no UCL and Capital one cup commitments). In this regard.. Under moyes; "Gollum has turned carrington to a boot camp. His military training regime is killing the players." Under LVG ( the injury crises worsens despite having fewer matches to play); "Jones and Evans are sick notes. They should be sold in January." "The training ground turf is at fault" LVG may have his reasons behind these things but Abeg, it isn't outta place to question the rational behind some of the decisions he has taken thus far. Like I said earlier, the team can only get better. #GGMU# |

StarBoard:some people would forever wallow in stupïdity & idiöcy. how many times are we going to revisit this done & dusted topic. that we are having many injuries right now is moyes' fault - why did moyes sack the entire backroom staff & replaced the entire medical team with his quacks from everton? we had an effective medical system just around the time SAF was leaving. united had just spent millions of pounds to refurbish our medical lab. we had an experienced medical personnel that knew the players inside out - experienced medics that know the conditioning of the players & the training regime each of them needed to perform to their best. moyes came in & removed everyone of them in spite of what SAF told him not to change any of them. our health worsened under moyes & the trend has carried on till now cos no one in that medics today knew our players. LVG wouldn't have sacked the medics if he had taken over from SAF. moyes is cursed & i hope he catches ebola wherever he is for the loss & the pain he caused the fans of our great club. |

What is all this nonsense that LvG has not or is not being criticised. Are you guys on this forum at all. Have we not questioned his 352 formations that the players are not comfy with it and he insist on playing it. Have not criticised some of his substitutions on this forum. Why are u guys talking as if even SAF did not have scandalous loses to lowly teams or that we did not at some point have lethagic performances under SAF who is suppose to the best that ever happened to United. But SAF and LvG have their CVs to back them up even when things are going south. Did we ever have a 4match winning streak Under Moyes? There is a wide diff between Moyes and LvG atleast at this point. At the end of the season wherever we finish will give a complete pic as we would be able to assess both managers after a year. Moyes was a failure abeg, the job overwhelmed him. United board made a mistake and are in the process of correcting it. Even if we lose the next game, we see the improvements and know its just a matter of time we get back to what we were - Champions! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:54am On Dec 04, 2014 |
codedguy1:moyes never took us to the 4th position. at this stage last season, we were 9th - playing horrible football with no progress or any improvement. he lost control of his dressing room, ostracised some players and he generally brought the club to its knees. even if we don't make the top 4 this season, the football has been much better. several players have improved under LVG, the opposite happened under moyes. abeg, i would have done better than moyes as a manager and i dont even have a coaching badge to my name. failure has only one colour & that colour is moyes! |

Let us leave this David Moyes and move forward. I am yet to read anyone said Moyes is better than Gaal since this argument started some weeks back. Evans, Jones and Smalling have a history of injuries before Moyes and Gaal. Even Rafael, Young and Cleverley. Anyone wondering Evra was fit throughout Moyes' reign? May be we have to accept history of some of our players. |

elampiro:there's nothing to accept - we had a near perfect 12/13 season in terms of injuries. only kagawa was out injured for a long spell that i can remember. after hargreaves made a mockery of our medical facility in 2011. fergie got the whole place refurbished with the help of toshiba. we spent £25m and around nov 2012, fergie was gushing at the changes being made to improve us health wise. moyes came on in may 2013 & destroyed the foundation laid down. took off all SAF's staff & replaced them with everton goons who know nothing about sports science. we are still feeling that effect of losing experienced staff. |

coogar:May be if you checked closer, you would find out that Rooney, Nani, Cleverley, Rafael, Young were injured as well. Although I dont have the list. I cannot argue about the facility put in place by SAF. But remember the team was in a healthy state in terms of injury when Gaal arrived. He took a healthy team to preseason. |

elampiro:Ok, thanks for reminding me! Moyes criticism were justified. If he had eventually finished in the top 4 we can say it was hash, but this goon finished 7th, we were champs the previous season for crying out loud. Let's see where LvG will take us. Take note, we are happy about the improvement in the team that's a plus. Its not that we are where we want to be but there is an improvement. We criticised SAF sef, who d Bleep is Moyes. I still criticised the team against hull city last week that the players caress the ball too much and that there were too many unnecessary side/back passes in our play and someone would say we are not criticising the team/LvG. We can't criticise what we feel is going well in this manager because it was awful with the last manager. |

David Moyes actually lost it in the second half of the season. After 19 matches, Moyes was just 8 points from the top team, Arsenal. He was recovering well towards the end of the year 2013. Some good results in November and December. Should we have a good 2015, we will finish very strongly this time around. |

all these brainless argument from time to time sef. van Gaal's tenure will be better than Gollum's, if we still finish 7th van Gaal will still definitely get another go next term & no fan, not even SAF will frown @ the move |

elampiro:in 12/13? cleverley injured? you could only name 3-4 players in an entire season when we are talking about 42 different injuries already within the last 4 months. I cannot argue about the facility put in place by SAF. But remember the team was in a healthy state in terms of injury when Gaal arrived. He took a healthy team to preseason.nah - the team wasn't healthy when LVG arrived. shaw was unfit, carrick got crocked, many players were still carrying the scars of last season & the world cup didn't really help our cause. |

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has admitted that he is starting to feel tired as he gets used to becoming a first-team regular after being a bit-part player over the past 12 months. Fellaini, 26, joined Man United last summer for a fee of £28 million from Everton but struggled immensely. The Belgian midfielder failed to score a single goal in his first season with the Red Devils and only picked up just the one assist, but even that took until one of the final games of the season to come along. “I feel a little bit tired as I start to play every game so I feel the fatigue, but I have to rest and work hard again,” said Fellaini. He was used sparingly last season, as David Moyes realised that the Belgian was not ready to make that big step up from Everton to one of the world’s biggest clubs at Old Trafford, and Louis van Gaal felt a similar way at the start of the season. However, Fellaini’s form has improved and his role in the side is now unquestionable with the Dutchman handing him five full matches in a row. But the sheer increase in appearances and minutes has seen him tire drastically, and he’s feeling it. At 26 he is getting tired after 5 consecutive games. He aint serious at all. When we qualify for CL and play all the way to the semi and final while still in the FA cup he will start begging not to be chosen! |

Manchester United have had their fair share of injury problems this season but it seems to be subsiding now. Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit and Radamel Falcao has now made two consecutive substitute appearances from the bench, so United's attack is looking very strong. Defenders Phil Jones and Jonny Evans are still both out but back in training and Rafael is expected to be available for selection having been back in training this week. It's a bonus for United who appear to be in better shape going into the Southampton game. In the next 2 weeks Rafael, Jones, Evans, Lingard, Di Maria and Shaw should all be back in action. Daley Blind is set to return to training in January. [Source: thepeoplesperson, physioroom.com] ..... Angel di Maria admits Louis van Gaal has implemented a strict regime at Manchester United. Di Maria insists the players are more than aware that the Dutchman calls the shots. “He took Holland to the semi-finals of the World Cup, and people tell me he is a really good trainer, “And he is showing that at United. He is a strict manager, that is true. You have to do things as he says, but he is the coach and we are the players. "So we have to obey what he says. Every manager has his own ways of doing things. They are all different. "It is every player's dream to win the Champions League. Yes, I do miss Champions League football. We will have to do our best this season so that we qualify for next year’s tournament. "It won’t be easy. But some weeks ago we were seventh or eighth in the table, and now we are fourth. "So we have to keep on working. The thing we aim for the most is qualifying for the Champions League, which is what this club deserves. "I also want to win titles, but I am aware that we will have to go step by step since the manager and some of the players are new." [Source: Daily Star] |

Angel Di Maria insists Manchester United have not given up in the race for the Premier League title, but admits it will be tough to catch leaders Chelsea. “There is a long way to go until the end of the season, but Chelsea already have many more points than us, we will fight to the end, though, so we can finish as high as possible in the table. "It’s not easy to win titles, but it may happen as time goes by. I think this club must be back among the best.” Greats such as Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best, Bryan Robson and Eric Cantona have set a high standard at Old Trafford over the years and Di Maria is confident he can step up to the mark. Di Mariahas explained why he decided to wear the prestigious No.7 shirt at Manchester United. said: "I knew that the number seven was available. "So I could either choose that or the number nine. I wanted the number seven, though, because I knew who had worn it in the past. "Also, I have the same number when I play for Argentina." [Source: Daily Star] |

May be you can give us stats just as you did some time ago when you showed us how injury had not been fair to us over the years visavis other clubs. This has not convinced me.
