The plane was reported to have had technical difficulties enroute from Russia to Chad. It made an emergency stop in Kano.

I think it was arms meant for Chad, however with no official statement from their Government by now, it does not look like it was a legitimate transaction. Remember an aide to the Chad President was recently caught at the Chad-Nigeria with surface to air missiles in the boot of his car.

Here are my reasons:
1. In two occasions, FG tried buying arms from a South African firm and failed. In fact we hear that the $15m is still in SA.
2. US are having issues with Nigeria for refusing to sell.
3. Israel, UK, Germany and other are not selling Arms to US.
4. We are only left with China and Russia (these two countries can sell to us without minding what US has to say).
5. Despite being our neighbours, Chad have not been on our best side on the problem of Boko Haram.

Therefore, buying arms from Russia, slamming Chad (or getting them to take the fall), replenishing our Armoury - All in one swoop may have all been articulated plan that may have been aimed to boost Mr. Presidents weak posture to the War on Terror.

Ceasing it delivers the armory. Impounding it and clamping down on Chad, makes him appear tough and a serious minded fellow. But it is obvious that like every other thing we have seen them do, this is yet another ill-thought plan.

We can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome.

As I stated earlier, it is an ill-thought plan to deliver the weapons. The only other viable explanation is if the transporters are here to complicate or implicate Jonathan.

If the plane's stop in Kano was impromptu due to 'dense traffic in Ndjamena airport,' then it means the plane was not originally scheduled to stop on Nigerian soil. So how and why did France obtain prior diplomatic clearance 'given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.'

Secondly, the suggestion of dense air traffic at Chad's airport is laughable. How many flights leave or enter that airport per day.

Thirdly, if France indeed obtain diplomatic clearance from Nigeria, I would have thought its landing in Kano would not surprised Nigerian officials (DSS etc), and not only were they surprised, they ordered its detention and search

Fourth, why would Nigeria grant diplomatic clearance for a gun running exercise between France and its puppet nation Chad

The truth is far from what is being revealed. This was a gun running exercise by France that went awry. They have been scrambling behind closed doors all weekend to get Nigerian government (fast becoming another France puppet) to agree to this made up story of prior diplomatic clearance.
We the ordinary people are not fooled.

For what is worth, it might interest you all to know there weren't any impounded plane. That plane actually supplied Nigeria, the inability of the military to keep it a covert operation has lead to lies, accusation and counter-accusation from all angles trying to cover it up..The lack of professionalism in the Nigerian press has not helped matters.. Issues of national security are supposed to be redacted. Forget all you hear from social media and the press, that plane supplied NA.
And for those of you taking sides with politicians, arguing and quarreling just make sure such ends here..No carry am come real life No politician is worth that stress, not these present set of politicians, not even Buhari.

Get your facts right. The plane is not coming from Russia according to reports. Most importantly, the munitions and heli's found onboard belong to French army in chad. So the issue of "Russia this, Russia that" is not relevant. Russia build those Jumbo Jets both for commercial and military transport of "heavy" machineries or goods, so they shouldn't be involved or castigated based on that.
