President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has urged Nigerians to turn to God as the only sure way out of the nation’s security, political and economic problems.

Mark, in a release issued on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, expressed optimism that God would heal the land “only if we turn to Him to salvage the myriads of crisis facing the nation.”

Addressing members of the Youth Prayer Network of Nigeria (YPNN) during the flag-off of national prayers to heal the nation in his Apo, Abuja official residence, Mark said: “What the country is passing through at the moment is a test of our faith. We must be steadfast in our prayers that God will save Nigeria.

“What we need now as a nation is sincerity of purpose; sincerity on the part of everybody: the government and the people. With prayers, our country will see the end of this insurgency and God will totally heal our land.”

He reiterated his call for free, fair and credible elections in 2015, adding that Nigerians should continue to do the right thing both in the present of God and in the sight of men.

On the new prayer group, the Senate President charged youths across the country to embrace the network as the needed agents of positive change towards building a greater Nigeria.

Earlier, the Coordinator of the YPNN, Rev. Father Charles Ndubuisi, said youths across the nation have come together to raise their voice to God in the midst of the lingering crisis and to seek change of attitude among the younger generation.

He explained that the group came together to offer prayers to God to end the issues of insecurity, corruption and unemployment in the country saying, “We have come together to raise our voices to God. The future belongs to young people and as youths by implication, we are praying for ourselves too”.

Ndubuisi called on Nigerians to believe in Nigeria and develop friendship across board, just as he expressed optimism that Nigeria shall overcome her present challenges. At the event, the Senate President was decorated as the Worthy Ambassador of the YPNN.

God is not a politician. If we are turning to God we must be certain which God we are turning to. The muslims and Christians don't serve thesame God. Nigeria has these two main religious groups. So we have to be clear on the God we are praying to for deliverance.

Did you and your reckless cohorts seek divine intervention when you ridiculed the principle of separation of powers by forcefully shutting the house of assembly?

Our politicians in their stupidity feign intelligence, they have perfected the use of Religion to perpetuate hate amongst tribes, poverty and reckless corruption, yet they are first to call on God to save a nation they have single handedly drowned..

Why am I even bothered? After all, the same parasites would be voted back into office to continue..

This is what the bible says , having a form of religion but denying the power thereof..
Nigerians seems to be religious but things still go hay wire.. Just as Karl Marx will say, Religion is the opium of the people..
Churches and mosques every where, but evil in the land has sky rocketed to 120%..
Welcome to Nigeria where every thing we are suppose to do is directed to God..
If super chicken wants to play ball, prayers
If GEJ refuses to take action for the nation, prayers.

For . ... sake God has given us what it takes to fight boko haram just that you guys up there are afraid of the unknown.

God can not come down to earth and fight Boko haram.

Only the Northerners can end boko haram. If una like, get all the amunitions in the world, if the northerners still allow themselves to be brainwashed by some group of people and also their sponsors, we are going no way.

"Only we are the enemy. "

We are the solution to our problem.

Hogwash! Prayer is not enough but commonsense.
persons like you are the ones benefiting from the present chaos and nonsense going on in this country.
This country must be restructured along ethnic lines for a start before the rubbish going on in this country could stop.
This will allow each of these ethnic groups to do whatever they want to do lives but unfortunately most Nigerians are blind and probably delusional.
But they should get this, the current structure in this country will never and never work.
