Thanks Anugoson! Abeg Oga Siga help me torchlight this question o. I was just thinking: Is it possible to manage to drag a 1 year fulltime course into 2 yrs, like maybe appeal to the school that I cant finish in one year because of fees and all. And if they agree and I finish the 2 yrs, will that 2 yrs be taken as a 2yr course which translates to 2 or 3 yrs PGWP or is it the original 1 year that will be reckoned which translates to only 1 year PGWP. Am trusting you will bring ur expertise to bear on this...Thanks!
..No...If for medical reasons they may accept...but 1yr can translate to 2yrs...

I have been admitted both to a canadian university for a postgraduate diploma for 2yrs and to usa for a masters for 2yrs. I have both Canadian S-1 visa and United states F1 visa. Its a big dilemma to me choosing which to go for and I am meant to resume each of them in 3 weeks time. Please can someone well grounded about both sides share his opinion with me ASAP as I plan to gain work experience for at least 4 to 5 yrs after my study before returning. Which is the best option ? I also don't want to go to Canada and stop at PGD, I want to gain my MSc.
It depends on what is of paramount importance to you.You need to answer questions like how much money you got, what you plannign to do with your intended program, when you wanna come back to naija, etc
I know in Canada, you can apply for PR after your post secondary program and you work for 6 months full-time depending on your province anyway. In the US, there is no guarantee for PR even if you are fortunate to get work.I think i like the canada odds to the US but its your call at the end of the day.

Please go US. Put in your very best. If getting work permit is not easy then move for a Phd in Canada.
You will have only extra 1 year to complete Canada's Phd as compared to PGD +MSC route in Canada. With Msc (US) + Phd your
permanent residency will be very easy. So, it saves time.Cheers always

Hello house.
I am a newbie ob this forum. And I have been following this thread for a long time from now. Here is my question, I am currently doiny my NYSC to finish in February and I applied to brandon university. I have been giving admission but on the letter it states "3years b.sc" reason being that I applied for a B.Ed after degree, but since I didnt meet the full requirement, the admission officer said I can use a year to meet up with the requirement before reapplying into the B.ED after degree program after the first year. I currently have a B.sc in computer technology.
A travelling experience spanning over 11years to the united kingdom for holidays, no criminal records,
My dads statement of account 6.5million(thinking of boosting it)
Co sponsor letter from my bro who is a permanent residence of canada(stays in winnipeg).
Please what r my chances and where do I begin after the admission letter. Thanks for your help.

Yes it is possible to drag a 1 year program into 2 years but it wont be taken as a 2years course. Please dont be misinformed. How do you expect the school to tell immigration that you came in for a 1yr (2 semesters) and suddenly became 2yrs (4 semesters). I work in a college, I understand what you're talking about but it is not possible. You will waste your time for those 2years and you will be surprised that after you graduate, you will receive a letter from the school for immigration stating that you only studied for 1 year at the college.

Hello Fam, can I get a VISA without paying school fees to your intending? Also, if am given admission and VISA how long can I stay in Canada without paying my school fees?

Waiting for your response.

Thanks

I got mine without paying my fees.

You can stay as long as the fee payment date (which is unique to your school) expires.
