Please let's stop this bad-mouthing of Nigeria. It has nothing to do with Nigeria being bad or good. This kind of thing happens in any crowded subway station in large cities around the world. If you are careless and dont keep your wits, you can lose your shirt. Period.

I feel sorry for the lady. She should visit the US consulate immediately at Walter Carrington road, Victoria Island and lodge a complaint. She will be issued travel documents to enable her return to the US. If she will stay in Nigeria for up to 2 weeks, she can be issued a new US passport.

But, I have a little question. How can a Nigerian living in the US chose to go through the needless hassle of travelling by bus to the East, when she could fly in safety and comfort to either Owerri or Enugu? If she is from Anambra, she can fly to Asaba.

Bro, many many folks come in from overseas and ply the expressway to the east or wherever. MANY. Guys like to see/experience the Naija terrain after a long stay abroad, which cannot be captured by air travel. Can you stop in mid-air to buy roasted corn, banana, or suya?

As for me when i used to travel with large amounts.......i hide it in my pant, and any important documents like passports stay in a zipped br/east-pocket! I'd be the last person on earth any opportunistic chiseling crook would steal 8,000 hard earned dollars from!

Bt her travel documents inside her luggage is madness. Its more like her Id, keeping her id in her luggage is pure madness. I never knew we still have dumb peeps. That's why i like edo girls, if you see them returning to the country, they are always smart and alert. You can't scam them easily.

Why will someone keep 8000 dollars in a luggage , what about her handbag. And even if she kept the money there ,she doesn't need to keep her vital travel documents there. This is a case of total carelessness.

Why should anyone fly from Los Angeles..spend $3000 dollars on a ticket carry $8000 in the bag AND end up in maza maza motor park what is she doing there no flights to east or what ? Even people living in nigeria with less than 1000 dollars will not end up in motor park. If its a true story xmas come early for the urchins in the park

those are a special breed of hard ajepako working class people. most right thinking people after 8 hours in the air and the crazy heat of murtala muhhamad airport and sweating and intense sun and the sight of many dangerous looking predators at the airport want to get a nice air conditioned flight out of the madness quickly to their destination for sleep and shower. wetin concern sane man with nigerian terrain ? i be tourist ? i dont care how many years i stay away from naija, i aint coming back in to look at terrain. am looking to get as quickly away from the terrain and the strangers lmao. me personally i woulda chartered an air conditioned car from the airport to the local airport and a flight from there. but thats just me. she is stingy. 8000 dollars and she dey mazamaza, whatever the hell that is. the name dont even sound right. mazamaza ? sounds like somewhere i want to be 1000 miles away from

That is not true, the woman can go back to US if she is a citizen or permanent resident. What she need to do is to get police report and affidavit to state that her document was stole and takes both the police report and affidavit to US embassy to get temporary traveling document to get back to his base.

for someone to carry, even in America I will never do that because airline workers in abroad
will look into your bag and steal your valuables.

It is easy to get emergency passport or standard passport at the embassy if she can prove she is a
US citizen. She will need police report and detail statement concerning the stolen passport.

Note: If the lady owes money as per child support, she will need to pay all before she can get a new
passport.
