Caveatemptor:falcao will start again surely..... rooney, RVP, mata, etc have had worse performance before now and they still got the chance to play. we need tall players against stoke..... |

SailorXY:If falcao continues like this till the end of the season, should we spend 43m on him? |

Louis van Gaal explains players “were tired” after defensive substitutions against Tottenham Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that the reason he made three defensive substitutions against Tottenham Hotspur was because his players were tired. Despite struggling to make the breakthrough during the 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Van Gaal brought on Rafael, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw rather than someone like James Wilson. Speaking to the media at his press conference after the game, Van Gaal said that there was nothing tactical about the decision, he just needed to bring the players off who were looking tired. |

Odunharry: Louis van Gaal explains players “were tired” after defensive substitutions against Tottenhami didn't even need to read van gaal's comment to know fatigue was the reason the energy level dropped in the second half. |

coogar:I do not think Falcao should start against Stoke. In his present form Ryan Shawcross will have him for breakfast, lunch and supper. |

Dadehmola:Of course but if... His poor performance is being exaggerated when we've had games where VP and Rooney couldn't make simple 5 yard passes. One good thing I like about him is his movement off the ball in finding spaces. Our midfielders should become familiar with his movt. |

Odunharry:If only we had Blind, Fellaini and Herrera. Rooney and Carrick needed the rest most. Valencia too. Agreed. But what rest did Evans and McNair needed? |

I want a perfect birthday gift from united against stoke... I want 3point |

Odunharry:all our defenders are back now bar rojo.... we can play rafael + jones + smalling + shaw in the defence against stoke......but i suspect LVG will go back to his tested & trusted tactical approach. mata should be rested against stoke.... rooney should be pushed forward in the hole - i hope fellaini is fit enough to partner carrick in the midfield. |

“I’m not interested in what’s happening with the players he’s brought in because they’ll need time. When I took Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic in the January of the same year [2006], they were all over the place. It took five months to get used to playing for Manchester United, the culture, the history of the club, and these new players will be exactly the same.” SAF on Man United struggling new signings. |

Caveatemptor:Has James Wilson been effective so far? I`ll rather keep on playing Falcao than playing Wilson who has not brought anything to the team. All our strikers were poor today. Why single out Falcao? He only needs to calm down. It seem he`s too much in a hurry in his game. |

"I don't see any influence from me when I am there shouting," he said. "They are not understanding you. "With the fans in the Premier League shouting so much, they can't understand you. "That's why I'm always on the bench. You have trained them to read the game by themselves all week. "It is much more important that they are more involved with the game, that they make their own decisions. It is like a child - you educate them." |

Dadehmola:yes we should. its a case of being opportuned to test-drive before paying for a ride & sometimes that liberty helps you make wrong choices. let's assume we test-drove Vidic for some months, will you pay two cents to keep him permanently? I don't think so, & truthfully nobody will blame ya @ the time. the EPL can be a difficult place to adapt even for the most skilled players, & if we are to be honest to ourselves, Falcao has not been poor; except of course you want to factor his injuries - but even then, take a look @ the whole squad. |

chrisley024:He is trying too hard to prove his ability. He is even going into dangerous tackles and I get scared for him. He was dispossed 9 times today. I dont think I have ever seen anything like that. He also had 3 unsuccessful touches which was the highest with Mata. However, we just have to keep faith with him knowing his capability. He gets chances, and just a matter of time he will start scoring plenty from them. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Caveatemptor(m): 8:02pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
tess1:The rate at which Falcao falls to the turf shows a player lacking fitness and confidence on his own ability. He is just not the player he once was because his body has been ravaged by injuries. The amount of money being paid for this guys loan deal is ridiculous considering he has done practically zilch sine he arrived OT. The loan is even more annoying considering the fact that we released Welbeck and loaned out Chicharito,Nani and Zaha. Is Falcao better than what we've got on current form? I say a big fat NO. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 8:10pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
chrisley024:expect 3-1-4-2 then. carrick in front of 3 central defenders. i just don't trust evans in our back-3 but we have enough ammo upfront to destroy stoke. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 8:17pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
Carrick with 34 passes today was our 8th top passer. This justifies my call for him to be rested. This might also be the lowest from that position this season. His pass accuracy unusually fell to below 80. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 8:19pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:falcao is better than all our strikers put together. this is the first time falcao would start a game & not contribute either a goal or an assist. what else do you want? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 8:20pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:I think you are taking it too far. He is working his way back to fitness. He will get there soon. Even fit strikers sometimes have lull period. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 8:24pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
elampiro:Rest him and play Fletcher They should try and manage afterall it's the same to other teams. We can involve other players just coming back from injury in the FA Cup game at the weekend. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Caveatemptor(m): 8:29pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
elampiro:The brutal truth is that Falcao is NOT the player he once was. He is slow, finds it difficult to control the first ball, and constantly gives the ball away to opponents. He constantly falls to the ground and is apparently lacking in fitness and confidence. I just can't see Van Gaal approving a permanent deal if he continues with such poor goal scoring results. Falcao as he presently is can NOT scare any defender in the EPL. Lets be honest with ourselves. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 8:32pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:this is a witch-hunt the elephant in the room is rooney. he missed the best chance in the game - his only attempt on target throughout the game and he created nothing for 90 mins. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 8:34pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:So, in your own opinion it is by sitting on the bench that he`ll gain his full fitness back. If RVP had been benched when he`s poor at the begining of the season, would he have been able to gain some of his fittness back? For crying out loud, this guy is just getting back his fittness in a new league and new team. He needs to be given enough chance/time to prove himself. He has only played about 500 plus minutes, he`s scored and assisted during those minutes. What else do you want from him? We can only judge him by the end of the season. In your own, will you prefer playing wilson? |

tess1:if fit, falcao should play every game. at least, he gets into good positions and he shoots on target more often than our regular strikers. it will take time before his team mates understand his movements & runs. i trust him more to terrorise opposition's defence than RVP, rooney or wilson. |
