the first meaningful post I've read on this matter... U summed it up nicely... I jst wonder isnt there a way to live our national lives without having to go begging the US. This arrogance and pokenosing of theirs irritates me.

Those that tried to do so faced regime change and if it don‘t work, severe santions. Ghadafi is the best African leader, they removed him because he don‘t like begging.

Countries like north korea, iran, syria, cuba, venezuela and even great russia that don‘t want to beg, are facing harsh sanctions.

I personally have a feeling that the US won‘t allow Nigeria develop.

This simply means the Nigerian Armed Forces have been parading toys at the yearly show of force celebrations in eagle square.

But, what about all the weapons the Government has been purchasing over the years with the defence budget when there was no Boko Haram? Did the weapons vanish all of a sudden leading to this panic buy?

The presidency needs to start asking this question.

You see your life GEJ?

So the urgency to quell terrorism is because of elections and not because people are dying.

So if we allowed GEJ the single 6 years tenure he requested for, no arms will be procured with urgency until 2017.

Jesus. Must everything be about elections to GEJ?

I asked you a simple question that requires Yes or No answer, would you supported GEJ if he had banned Saudi Airlines for lack of trust?

No reasons given, just by saying, we don't trust Saudis hence no direct landing to Nigeria.
Are the Saudis transporting arms in our skies? If they want to and we have reasons not to trust them, Yes. Deny them access

I completely believe this story is untrue and designed to leak Nigeria's source of arms procurement for it's military.

However, "If" Saudis refuse access over their airspace, they can always break the trip.

Fly from Pakistan to Dubai.
Then from Dubai, fly over the Indian ocean to avoid Saudi Arabia and then land at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Then from Addis Ababa to Abuja, Nigeria.

Then quietly deny Saudi Arabian airlines landing rights in Nigeria.

.Don't say i told you so... grin

So everyone that comes up in the name of Islam represents Muslims?

I guess Catholics priests who molested little boys represents Christians then
In other words you are now equating the crimes of the catholic priests, though condemnable,
with the crimes of boko haram ba? If your sister,if you have one,was one of the many girls molested

by your fellow muslims in the north,if your brother was among those beheaded by boko haram while chanting Alahu Akbar,

i doubt if you will be typing all these.

Nigerians are hilarious. When America did it they said it was because of the anti-gay law forgetting that most of America's allies in the middle east don't support homosexuality.

We cannot be trusted with arms. The way our military give up their outpost to terrorists is ridiculously worrying.

How does a barrack get captured in one day? And when we say they government is complacent they blame everyone else except themselves.

It is even more worrying that this comment came up

So this is about the elections all along. If there was no elections they wont even bother more. I wonder why our military is just having them on the run too.

Crappy country with crappy leaders and even we the followers are crappy
hav you convinced yourself you're crappy? I and my kind aren't .

Nigeria has a lot of problem and our current system is one major factor that need to be scrapped and corrected ,if you don't do this any noble idea would still be competing with that old ugly nature that has made every other thing not to work as it was suppose to work.

Let us go for regional autonomy first then we can begin from there.

I am not equating anything. I am letting you know that just because someone claims to be doing something in the name of a religion does not mean every other person in that religion supports it.
It does not even mean that's what the religion is about.

I am not Muslim, I am a Christians and I have met Muslims who are some of the nicest people in the world. I have also met Christians who are almost not human when it comes to being good people.

I have also met Christians that I would spit and puke when their names come up.

Why must Nigeria always look to import finished goods (military equipment). Government will now tell us it has no business with business.
if DICON is empowered to develop all these equipment, we will not be facing this embarrassment now.

We have so many mechanical engineers unemployed, some even with masters yet government says it has no business with business so it has to create employment in foreign countries by importing all sorts of finished goods at the expense of our people and the naira.

Saudi Arabia is simply doing the bidding of America and this action has absolutely no religious undertone in my opinion. Pakistan is a much more radical state than saudi and yet it has chosen to sell Nigeria weapons.
. You just said what I have in mind! This has nothing to do with religion, they are just obeying orders from USA. God will punish USA for all the evil roles they have been playing in different countries whom they pretend to be helping.

Giving our institutions such instruction is one of the attributes of " Decentralization of Nigeria "

Leaving weapons development in the hands of only government employed brain is a clear characteristics of an over centralized system.

Do you agree with me that involving our higher institutions is one attributes of Decentralization of Nigeria.?

If he didn't take neccessary action to stop the insulgency before election and Hence, stop election in the north east to save lives, u ll accuse him of trying to win election by denying north (buhari's stronghold) a chance to participate in the election.

You should respond to my questions based on your comment I quoted. Stop changing the context.

You approved Saudis action without caring for details.

To refresh your memory, I got interested in your submission when you categorically blamed Christian officials in the government for Saudis action by slamming unfounded allegations on them for which I asked for proof.

You then changed to focus on interest based on International diplomacy then I asked you if GEJ had banned Saudi Airlines based on whatever reasons will you support him.

Now, you have changed by asking why and if when I required simple Yes or No

You just want to defend Saudis action without even knowing their reason(s)/pressure just because you recent the occupant of ASO Rock.

As I said before, I repeat, absolute antagonism exposes and reduces ones intellectual critiquing below the unimaginable.

In another display of irresponsibility, cluenessness, and outright disgrace, this government managed to bungle this arms procurement. Any fool knows that authorization to fly through the Saudi airspace with millitary hardware should have been worked out way before the procurement. The Saudis are known to have one of the most restrictive rules in the world, regarding flying millitary hardware through their airspace.

The only thing this government and its officials do with efficiency is looting the treasury dry. Enogh is enough, this government and PDP must go in a few weeks.
