[s]You guys sell Buhari using lies and nothing but lies. Those planes were ordered and paid for in 1981, they arrived in 1985 when Buhari happened to be in power. It had nothing to do with him.
You think brand new planes are what you can just walk into a showroom and purchase?[/s]

Proof?

Proof?

The onus is on you to prove that Buhari actually ordered and paid for those planes.
I am telling you categorically that they were ordered and paid for in 1981 while Buhari was still lusting for power and plotting a coup.

I provided a document and a link stating the General purchased brand new planes for Nigeria Airways, you came up with a spurious claim that they were purchased by Alhaji Shagari.

I challenge you to prove it or desist from quoting me.

You and your group typed something on a paper and you uploaded it here.
Provide a credible link stating when the planes were ordered and paid for.
Meanwhile manage this one.
Nigeria Airways became Airbus' 40th customer in 1981, when it placed an order for four Airbus A310-200s ; these aircraft were incorporated into the fleet in late 1984 and early 1985. Also in 1981, four new Boeing 737-200s were ordered to replace leased aircraft of the same type in a deal worth US$65,000,000 ($ 168,614,568 in 2014); they were delivered in February 1983. In 1982, a Boeing 747 was leased from Scanair; the aircraft was deployed on services to the United Kingdom, permitting the
DC-10s to be used on new routes to Frankfurt, Paris, and Zurich.

I thought you actually knew what you were saying, you should know that Wikipedia is editable by anyone and is not accepted anywhere in the world as a reference document. I understand your desperation since Goodluck's only aircraft purchases were for his already large presidential fleet.

Provide credible proof that those planes were not acquired by General Buhari to boost the fleet of Nigeria Airways.

Buhari, in spite of the financial constraints during
his regime, still found money to pay for four
Airbus 310s, making Nigeria the first country in
the whole of Africa to acquire the latest state-of-
the-art aircraft. Nigeria

How is that one line trash written there more believable than the detailed information on the wikipedia link I provided?

Wikipedia? Credible? Really? And I'm arguing with you? Education in Nigeria has truly gone to the dogs. I rest my case, peruse obiagelli's link for more information.

See what I just did with your 'Credible Wikipedia', so your claim is INVALID anyone could have equally posted your fake info for sake of argument.

The op is asking if GEJ or GMB will revive it. Cant you people read and comprehend before typing foolishness. For your information, the British started our railways, and once BOAC, and like every other industry, our culture of non-maintenance, corruption, inefficiency etc has seen our shipping, aviation and rail die or remain at sub-optimal levels. Perhaps this is another project GEJ has pencilled down for the next four years, but I know pdp corruption has chased Virgin Nigeria and air Nigeria into the mortuary.

Wikipedia is a million times more credible than your Buhari Dawodu blog.
Wikipedia told us the exact model of planes that were ordered, when they were ordered and when they were delivered.
Did you propaganda blogs offer any such information?

At this point, I think the air transport business should be in the hands of private sector players, and that's what we're getting so far.
Government should have no business running a business enterprise.
Those days have long passed.

You're wrong sir. Many developed nations still hold on to their corporations even with privatization as the core of their policy.

Air France, Qatar Airway, Emirates, Etihad just to mention a few are still owned by their respective country.

Must government own and control everything? Let them leave it for the private companies to handle and focus on building and rehabilitating the Airports
