Falcao undoubtedly has had a turbulent first half of the season largely caused by the injury. He regained his fitness nd playing time only in the busy festive period which has proved even difficult to already in form players. Its just too early to pass a judgement wen we r only halfway into the season on a player who is just regaining fitness, in a new team undergoing recovery nd transformation and playing against tough tackling nd highly physical defenders in the most difficult league. Let's wait for the second half of the season then we can judge his performance. For now its too early |

Caveatemptor:Yes, it didn't make sense to sack Moyes in the firs half of the season. He even finished the half 8 points (I think)from the top of the league. |

Caveatemptor:His movement is good, his team-mates don't see it, van persie was piss poor at the start buh he got a good run of games and now he's in a bit of form Let falcao get his own run of games before we judge |

Caveatemptor:For what Luiz Suarez did in EPL last two seasons and considering his huge transfer to Barcelona, why hasn't he "hit the ground running" as your logic implies? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Odunharry(m): 10:15am On Dec 29, 2014 |

Odunharry:The guy just hate Falcao. He should just wait till the end of the season for proper assessment instead of judging a player that's just coming back from injury with just a little above 500mins play. Whether he'll stay or not will be judged at the end of the season by his overall performance. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Caveatemptor(m): 10:20am On Dec 29, 2014 |
tess1:Stop this your clutching at straws argument. Can you compare the performance of Suarez at Barcelona with the performance of Falcao at United? Look at the body language of the two players. Suarez is performing while Falcao looks lost. Any way lets watch Falcao against Stoke in a few days then we can come back to argue if he is worthy of being paid 265,000 pounds a week. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 10:39am On Dec 29, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:Let me know the performance of a player who scored 31 goals in EPL last season(54 in last two seasons in EPL) moved to Barcelona on a transfer fee of 75mil pounds, earning around 200mil pounds per week and scored 1 goal with 5 assists in La Liga. With the standard attained by Suarez in EPL in the last two seasons, he should be banging in the goals in La Liga right now. Mind you, nobody on the forum is saying Falcao has reached his full fitness. We all know that he still needs some improvement. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Caveatemptor(m): 12:16pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
tess1:It appears you conveniently forgot a certain biting incident at the World cup that led to the suspension of a ceryain Mr Suarez. And by the way,how has a thread about Manchester United suddenly delved to become about Suarez, who is not and jas never beem a United player. Falcao is living on past glory and that is why Momaco got rid of him as soon as they could and United picked up a dud cheque. By the way this is a player that no one is sure of his real agr. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:40pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
coogar:I had to look things up. So I decided to revisit briefly. * Did you notice that because of the physicality and pace of the Tottenham side it meant Rooney's role and Carrick were unconsciously revised? Rooney's heat maps showed he played deeper than Carrick. This perhaps was the reason Carrick made only 34 passes. He had more defensive stats than Carrick. Rooney made 5 clearances against 1 for Carrick. Rooney won two aerial dues out of 5. Carrick did not bother to contest for any aerial due even though he is far taller. Heat map also reveals that Rooney played deeper than Young throughout the match. It means he gave other midfield and forward players more freedom to operate in the attacking zone. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:17pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
elampiro:stop lying..... there's no heat map on the planet that would put rooney behind carrick. unconsciously revised? against the tactical approach of LVG? united played 3-1-4-2. carrick was the 1 in front of the back-3 and one of rooney's aerial duel was his only shot on target. what was rooney doing in the tottenham's box if he was unconsciously playing behind carrick? what was rooney doing in tottenham's box when he was our most advanced player when his first touch let him down? Heat map also reveals that Rooney played deeper than Young throughout the match. It means he gave other midfield and forward players more freedom to operate in the attacking zone.how can young be more advanced when he was a wingback? do you even understand tactics at all? |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 3:09pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:I am only using Suarez's case to tell you that a player cannot regain his full fitness without playing regularly and also that a player in a new league and team may need time to adapt. "Falcao is living on past glory" 2013/14; played 1392 mins and scored 9 goals 2014/15; played 128 mins for Lille and scored 2 goals 2014/15; played 540 mins for Man Utd and scored 2 goals and assisted 3 goals. Meaning that he has contributed to 7 goals this season. And considering that he's just coming back from injuries and he's in a new league. You will need to explain your "living in past glory" for me to understand. I'm not continuing with this because that your statement just confirmed your dislike/hatred for Falcao maybe for the money he's collecting. Your assertion of him is not in line with what he's done so far this season. |

tess1:Hmm. How has he contributed seven goals? How many games has he played for United and how many hoals has he scored? And gor goodness sake stop quotong figures ftom that mickey mouse Ligue one. You may love Radamel Falcao, but I love Manchester United. I have no other club so I will say what I frel benefits the club and not the player. Right now Falcao is a passenger amd should take his rightful place on the bench while young James Wilson starts. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Keky(m): 3:41pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
Brothers and Sisters, if Falcao had this kind of form and he was in Chelsea, Arsenal or Man City. Wouldn't you have called him a flop? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by codedguy1(m): 4:21pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
Caveatemptor:James should start ahead of Falcao? We can see improvements in Falcao's game. James is actually regressing playing for the first team. It would do james a whole lotta good going on loan somewhere? Play james instead of Falcao in the present squad! Taaa! |

Dadehmola:if Vidic was an unknown rookie, what of Evra? Berbatov? de Gea? Fellaini? if we got any remote test drives on these guys, they wouldn't have done nothing for this great club. the haste to pass judgment on Falcao is apparent in you folks, but again the timing is terrible. and what's this sudden talk of 'age'? what is your proof he's above 28 or whatever? how does it even matter if he's doing his thing well on the pitch? smh as far as I'm concerned, it is only Daley Blind that has really made his transition into Man United seamless & he too has recently been unavailable for a couple of weeks which is not his fault anyway. so if you guys have your daggers & swords drawn on Falcao already (maybe because una dey eye him wages ), & we should definitely "look elsewhere"; who is the world class forward you think LvG should be after? |

SailorXY:•As regards the players you mentioned, we bought them based on the impressive forms they had at thier respective clubs. Falcao on the other hand, is a 29 year old who for one one reason or the other, hasn't really played football within the last 12 months, so I really don't see how his scenario correlates with the aforementioned players. •The club decided to get falcao- a 28year old foward who's long term fitness was always gonna be in doubt, on a loan deal so as to give him a chance to prove his fitness and form before splashing out mega bucks on him (an intelligent thing to do, obviously). If for whatever reasons, he fails to do so at the end of the spell, why them should the club tie him down with a hefty contract at a high transfer fee? • As you would have noticed, I asked if he should still be signed for 43m at the end of the season even if he fails to improve on his form, fitness and injury concerns - a testament to the fact that summer is the appropriate time to pass the final verdict. Dunno what you mean by "quick judgement", unless you feel that a season is too short for a such a player to prove his worth, considering why we even had him on loan in the 1st place. • As for the age falsification issue, both of us don't really have the facts on board but it's definitely a factor that has to be keyed into consideration - the fact that his official age is 29, makes it worse. SailorXY:The more reason why you shouldn't see it as a witch-hunt or whatever... We are talking about spending big money on an ageing Mercedes S600 (2010-2012 model) that gave that us the performance of a 1987 Subaru during the test drive we were even fortunate to have in the 1st place. ( I really hope it doesn't turn out this way). SailorXY:That's why we have scouts. God forbid, if falcao continues this way till the end of the season, which other big club you think say go ready pay 43m for his services? It wouldn't just make any sense. |
