Read the NIV and GOOD NEWS for cross reference, and 'enjoyment' reading. They are watered down Bibles so they are not really so useful for serious study.

Make your spirit holy by imbibing the Word of God.

You don't need to be 'born again', there is nothing like 'becoming a born again', that is religious thrash talk.

John 6:63
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Uncle stop confusing this fellow because becoming 'Born Again' is no religious thrash, if it is as you have claimed then why did Jesus say in John 3:7 " Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

Jesus said except a man is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is water and spirit? water and spirit is the Word of God, that is the meaning of being 'born again'. It is not what you do, it is what you become, inwardly first, then outwardly.

John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

You have not clarified me on John 3:7. The problems with Islam and Christianity today are interpretation and misinterpretation. Everyone claims to have a higher understanding. I hate religion because of too many doctrines.

This is not about religion, this is about a way of life; the Bible is a Holy Constitution, meant to guide our way of life. Just as we have a constitution to guide democracy in Nigeria, we also have the Bible as a constitution to guide the way of life of a truly sincere person. it is not about religion. To be born again as Jesus Christ define it, is to be born of water and spirit; to be born of water and spirit is to be filled with the Word of God which now manifests in the way you live and in your interactions, your relationships and your perspectives. There is an inward change due to the imbibing of of a new personal constitution which now manifests itself outwardly.

Being born again is not about looking dull and dreary and carrying the weight of the world on your face, trying to 'please' God like the pharisees of old; being born again is a self renewal in the Word of God.

Akin to moulting, shedding old skin, revealing a newer better skin underneath.

@lastchild, In all honesty,I am not writing this to insult you but I really think psychological help will do good for you. Am not calling you crazy, no. I think you are sane and the problem is that some of your neuro systems or body chemical processes are not working the way they should and that's why you have these issues you think are spiritual. Please try to see a Psychiatrist and tell them your problem. Seeing a psychiatrist does not mean you are crazy and perfectly sane, intelligent people also see psychiatrists when they have problems that cause them mental distress, its not just a crazy people thing. I say this because I genuinely care and want to help you; please see a psychiatrist.

What is so depressing about your new lifestyle that warrants suicidal thoughts?

Please do so, I strongly believe it will help you. Also, if you can, try to confirm that it is a reputable doctor who knows what they are doing before you tell them your issues. This is so that you don't end up getting shabby treatment from some idi•t quack that will conclude that your problem is spiritual and send you off, just because they don't have enough medical know how to handle the case.
