coogar:It doesn't matter if they were backward passes. It shows Carrick operated out of his usual DM position where he usually make 60 to 110 passes. How can a whole Carrick make 34 passes? Carrick completed 26 passes far less passes than Rooney. Rooney made 5 clearances. Rooney is not a DM but he operated as a DM considering the position he played and his defensive stat. He was defence conscious on the left side of our play. |

Odunharry:I have given enough evidence and I am going to give more tomorrow. The charts are there. The stats also showed Rooney did more defensively. |

coogar:How do you mean Rooney did not perform in a match that ended 0-0? Who mow performed? Was it those that missed clear cut chances from 4 yards? If anyone performed, then the match should have been won. o-o at away, we give kudos to those who saved us. |

elampiro:it was a difficult away game - what do you expect? go to spurs & boss the pitch like he does against the minnows? come on, son! was cesc also played out of his position at old trafford when he had a very poor number of passes? Carrick completed 26 passes far less passes than Rooney.28/34. no need to lie to cover the truth. rooney completed 31, carrick completed 28. Rooney made 5 clearances.all were headed clearances in our 6-yard box. another evidence that they were from set plays. ![]() Rooney is not a DM but he operated as a DM considering the position he played and his defensive stat. He was defence conscious on the left side of our play.he wasn't a DM - he was just hopeless offensively yesterday & he offered nothing as far as creativity was concerned. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:57pm On Dec 29, 2014 |
elampiro:young, mata, carrick. those were the top performers - rooney was below average. he contributed nothing offensively. www.nairaland.com/attachments/1983203_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 these were all rooney's clearances - they were all headers. or are you going to tell us rooney played in jones/evans position? ![]() |

coogar:Fabregas operated in the attacking zone at OT as shown by position chart. Matic sat far deeper than Fab. That was how Matic was able to out-passed him. coogar:Yes, 28. coogar:It does not always follow. coogar:That may just have been the tactics. His physicality was needed to check Spurs forward play while giving some freedom to Young and Carrick. Tactics is different from formation. If a coach has seen that your left back could be punished by a team like Tottenham, he would use strong a player to do the checking. It could also be that the coach saw some weakness in the Tottenham right back and needed Young to terrorize it. It doesnt mean Rooney couldn't get forward at all, it meant he was to sit back while the other less physical players wwre allowed to torment the opposition. |

coogar:Rooney was rated higher than most of our players by many pundits, he was outstanding. Carrick did little jor. Your chart says nothing. Is this the heat map? You have already seen the whoscred chart. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:23am On Dec 30, 2014 |
whoscored.com RVP 5.7 Falcao 6.2 Young 6.9...................... due to poor passing accuracy and poor crossing accuracy. Crossing 1/7, passing 69%, 2/6 long balls. 0 clearance Valencia 7.1 Rooney 7.1 Mata 7.1 Carrick 7.0 ![]() You see RVP rated 5.7? I have never ever seen Rooney rated below 6.0 even when he got a red card. You see what RVP missed chances caused. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:31am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:that's all the clearance he made - they were in the box & they were all headed clearance. maybe rooney was our centre-back too. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:39am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:And he had one interception. Carrick nil. I beg Carrick left his duty for rooney. Rooney beats him in vitually everything defensive. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:47am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:why is a DM only making one interception? young, valencia & wait for it..... falcao made 2 interceptions each, they musta played as a DM too. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:49am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:You are buttressing my point that Carrick played out of his usual position. He was find wanting in everything he used to dominate. Rooney covered his as.s |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:50am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:no, i am saying your point is null & void. why is falcao making more interceptions than rooney? does that mean falcao covered rooney's behind? ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by mcfarlin(m): 12:50am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:Rvp is too inconsistent these days.. If my great grandmother had started in rvp's place against tottenham she would have scored 2(if she's half fit)..and she's 105 years old... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:56am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:Except Falcao's heat map and position didnt reflect someone who played more in our half. You have not lay a foundation for Falcao to be considered as a deep lying player. And he made only 20 passes. His is 9th while Carrick is 8th on the pass list. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:59am On Dec 30, 2014 |
mcfarlin:whoscored ratings are shyte! RVP didn't have the best of games but he's bailed us out in plenty of games where the general performance was shytë! he gets a pass - you only see rooney shining when we dominate games. in games where we cannot get hold of the ball, rooney becomes anonymous. elampiro:but he made 2 interceptions? isn't that your point? falcao made 8 recoveries too....are you sure he didn't play beside de gea? ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:01am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:Rooney scored at Emirate. He scored against Liverpool. Did we dominate? I am yet to see anyone rating RVP high. Goal.com, etc |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:05am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:You are just distracting the main argument. You brought it up that Carrick made 5 or 6 recoveries, I showed you Rooney made 8. Rooney beats Carrick in virtually all things done in the deep. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:06am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:we killed liverpool & it was 50-50 against arsenal. arsës were great in the first half but we took the second half from them. all the chances liverpool had was because evans had a mission to give liverpool a free goal. ![]() I am yet to see anyone rating RVP high. Goal.com, etcrating RVP high like how? yesterday's game or throughout the season? elampiro:and falcao made more interceptions & recoveries than carrick - does this mean falcao played behind carrick too? i can show you which area of the pitch falcao made these recoveries. it will shock you & your dodgy stats back to amodu's tactics board. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:09am On Dec 30, 2014 |
Coogar, do you realize that Van Persie has been our top striker this season? Rooney is playing in midfield? RVP has more playing time? You shouldn't have brought them in comparison in terms of goals. Because at this time, you cannot win. RVP should be on 15 goals already. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by mcfarlin(m): 1:11am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:That's why I said rvp has been on and off I agree with their rating of rvp for the last game...how rvp didn't score is a mystery And thierry henry was questioning messi and ronaldo's domination of the balon d'or... If other top players don't meet up wth expectations ronaldo and messi might dominate till kingdom come... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:13am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:and rooney hasn't played in the striking position at all this season? before falcao was fit, who partnered RVP upfront? louis saha? ![]() You shouldn't have brought them in comparison in terms of goals. Because at this time, you cannot win.RVP has performed reasonably well this season. with our dodgy midfield & injuries to key players, the chances have been far & few in between. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:18am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:We were dominated completely in both games. We all acknowledged it here. DDG was the saving grace. We beat Arsenal on the counter. Liverpool by our clinical finishing. coogar:Yesterday's game. http://www.goal.com/en/match/tottenham-hotspur-vs-manchester-united/1703871/ratings One more rating: RVP two stars. Rooney 3 1/2 star over 5. Falcao 1 1/2 star. Mata 4 stars. Young 3 1/2 coogar:What is Falcao's heat map and player position? How many passes did he make? Midfielders or/and defemnders make the highest passes. Strikers usually the least. If Falcao did not come out as one of our top passers, your arguments is for the gutters. This is not bear palour. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:25am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:RVP had already left the pitch before we switched to counter-attack. there's nothing to say he wouldn't have scored if he was kept on the pitch when the arsës decided to throw caution to the wind. Yesterday's game.falcao - 1.5 stars? and whoscored rated him above RVP in theirs. this is why these player rating ish is nonsense. it's a popularity contest. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tottenham-0-0-man-united-player-8351605 MEN rated them equally here. ![]() What is Falcao's heat map and player position?so it's now about passing - not interceptions and ball recoveries? if i give you an example of rooney as a striker making more passes than any of our defenders or midfielders - does that mean rooney played defensively? ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:25am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:Rooney has only played in centre forward 5 times in 15 appearances. All as a co-srtriker. RVP has played all as striker and sometimes lone striker. coogar:I hear you. Even RVP has agreed he has been struggling. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:33am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:4 against QPR, he didnt score one for 90+ minutes. coogar:At least, none above Rooney. It's still fair comparison of ratings. coogar:You will have to back it with heat map or/and players position. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:33am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:and he scored only 2 goals in those 5 apps as a striker. how many would he have scored in 15 apps, simple arithmetic says about 6 goals. way less than RVP has managed. I hear you. Even RVP has agreed he has been struggling.as a back-to-back golden boot winner, of course he would say he's struggling. however, RVP struggling = rooney's excellence. RVP said he struggled at the world cup in spite of his 4 goals for holland. rooney scored only 1 goal in 3 different world cup appearances and he got a captain's band as a reward. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:40am On Dec 30, 2014 |
coogar:How many did RVP score that period? You are talking about our first four matches when the team lacked any direction. The fifth one was when he just returned from injury and he could barely move. Yet he has about three assist from the position in addition to the goals. coogar:You have shifted goal post. This aspect is reserved for another day. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:44am On Dec 30, 2014 |
elampiro:rooney was fit - he had a full preseason. RVP wasn't fit, he didn't even make the preseason. he had to be rushed back to fitness after a tiring world cup campaign for country. The fifth one was when he just returned from injury and he could barely move.shouldn't he have more assists? cesc - the assist leader in the league plays from which position? ![]() You have shifted goal post. This aspect is reserved for another day.RVP's standard is higher than rooney's. even my pet dog knows that. the day rooney wins a golden boot in this league, cameron would declare a month's holiday for everyone. ![]() |
