PenSniper:You r right, totally agreed with all your points. Like I said earlier, we should (Yorubas) make our opinion known by writing to Yoruba leaders that Igbos should remain where they belong in south west. However, i ll personally take my own step as regards this and see what comes out of it. No beef!!! It's all about treating me or any other person the same way u would like to be treated. |

kmariko:Thanks Bro. All what we are saying is that Igbos should either move back to the East to become whatever he/she wants to become politically or remain in South west and shut up; no more demand for a political office in the entire west. Another option is, Igbos would create or give room for other ethnic nationalities to become whatever they want to become in the East and Igbo could then aspire to become whatever he/she wants to become in any part of the country politically. This is a new journey for this present Yoruba generation................ |

Anybody who writes epistle on this conjecture by a Yoruba tribal irredentist is a basement fool. The so-called letter was a forgery masterminded by the same source that planted the crap that Lt Col. Francis Fajuiyi opted to die with Ironsi. The Yoruba will stop at nothing to attract cheap political attention. What a bunch of losers. |

FolarinLondon:I do not like distorting history, the problem of tribalism in Nigeria started when Awolowo sacked Zik from the west/mid-west. Whatever has been happening since then in Nigeria has been a chain reaction of that event. It created distrust about the Nigerian statehood. You preach one Nigeria....yet you refuse to practice what you preach. The Igbos are exceptional people in Nigeria because of their ability to adapt to new situations easily. Their resilience is often confused to be dominance. I do not speak for all Igbo people....but I am proud igbo man because of our democratic heritage before the whiteman came. The igbos are the most detribalised nigerians based on our ability to settle and inter marry with anybody. We develop wherever we settle...it must not be an igbo land before we build on it. You can not demand to govern Enugu when no yoruba man that works in Enugu has ever bought a parcel of land in Enugu. He prefers to take the money back to Ibadan to buy land and build upon. If one Nigeria is real, we all have the right to settle and claim citizenry wherever we reside. Obama was born in Hawaii, settled in Chicago and became a senator in Chicago. If Nigeria was truly built on the american state, why should Femi born in Osun not be able to settle in Onitsha and contest for elections there just as yoruba man was the mayor of Enugu when Zik was sacked by Awolowo. It is either we practice federalism or we dont....you dont deceive yourself in making laws that dont work. My parents warned me about getting into agreements that I cant keep. Failed promises has destroyed nigeria....from Zik-Awolowo saga to Ojukwu-Gowon Aburi accord issues. Remove tribalism and let the qualified win...your tribe/religion does not qualify you...your personality does. I do not believe in quota system or national character....I believe in competency. Our laws by talking of quota system and national character encourages tribalism, mediocrity and corruption. |

9jacrip:Thanks brother. The Call/ bell to a national(Odua nation) duty has been ranged by Igbos attitude and hatred towards Odua Nation in the last couple of months; hatred online, radio biafra disrespecting our heroes, demanding for political office while refusing to allocate just a common Town hall for my few brothers and sisters in their region, stay away from subsidy rally-saw it as Yoruba rally, demonisation of APC at last election in Anambra, rejected their own beloveth son (Dr. Ngige) on d basis of his association with Yorubas/Hausa. M calling us names to our faces while making living in our nation, killed our political leaders, calling our land no man's land etc. Somebody has to let them know that their days in South West are numbered. Our generation and coming Yoruba generation have to be well protected; save them from being abused on their fathers' land and keep Yoruba interest as priority on our today and future plans before anything. |
| Re: Ojukwu's Letter To Yorubaman Banjo..."taking Our Destinies Into Our Hands" by tuborme: 3:30am On Jan 02, 2015 |
FolarinLondon:Talking about subsidy rally, you need to understand us as a people; we are capitalists by nature while the yorubas are socialists by nature. The Igbos thrive in competitions and not handouts. The average igbo man does not want free education and subsidies...he wants a free market economy were he can compete. The petroleum sector can not develop until you remove subsidy and make it competitive. Competition spurs development and growth. I want steady petrol and not cheap petrol that enslaves me to the government. Look at what the automotive policy is helping the economy. |

You have just done What you claimed to hate which was distorting Nigeria history in d first paragraph . Please, we are not dealing with assertion or man-made story here. There are so my books and articles written about Nigeria history by neutral authors unlike the one written by Chinua Achebe who lacked moral ground to write anything about Nigeria history Tired later..... typing from my phone |

It's such a pity. I don't want Lagos and d entire south-western states to be just like Darfur in Sudan. When d Darfur war broke out, it was simply because some disgruntled elements were seriously protesting against d marginalisation of d non-Arabs in d state. Dis consequently led to d "ethnic cleansing" or genocide of d disgruntled non-Arabs in d state. D ibos r screaming "marginalisation" here and there in Yoruba states claiming that Lagos is a "no man's" land while in one of their own states Anambra, an indegene and a well respected statesman 4 dat matter Chris Ngige was betrayed by his own brothers on d ground dat he was a supporter and contesting under a Yoruba/Hausa/fulani-led political party known as the APC.. The odouriferous attitude of d ibos will only lead them to their "Waterloo". People always learn 4rm history, but d ibos seem not to be disturbed or petturbed by history. Germany did dis twice in Europe and dey were decisive destroyed twice by the World super powers. The ibo nation on d oda hand had done something similar 2 dis b4 in d not-too-distant past, and dey were almost wiped-off d surface of d Earth by d Hausa/Fulani hegemony coupled with "little efforts" of Braniacs in d likes of AWOLOWO and the BLACK SCORPION, now dey r also doing d same thing, if not even more and now, my question is "aren't dey suppose 2 av learned 4rm history dat u cannot eat ur cake and want to av it back"?, in dis current age in time and of technology, where killing and taking d lives of people can be done in such suprisingly fantastic and fabulous ways that will e wow and even captivate the sense of appeal of d would-be-victim or person about to be killed! If push now comes to shove, Should we thread d part of "Ethnic cleansing" like it was done in Darfur or should we take d path of Shehu Shagari which was dat of "GHANA-MUST-GO" only dat this time, it will be "IGBO-MUST-GO"?. But d body language of most of d Yorubas and South-Westerners is suggesting d latter especially d OPC...! My million dollar-live'n'tribe-saving advice to d ibos is dat they should STOP WRITTING AND SIGNING CHEQUES THAT THEIR BODY WONT CASH!. |

tuborme:Says who? You, i presumed. Let me quickly bisect and dissect the definition of socialism and capitalism before we proceed and I would like you to tell me if you are right or wrong about this assumption of yours after you must have taken your time to comprehend what the two stand for. Capitalism is defined as an economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development occurs through the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market from Free Dictionary(not my own definition or what I was taught in School and to prevent any altercation/distortion in the definition) Socialism is defined a systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy from Free Dictionary Bro, i believed u ve read these definitions by now and that is why I am asking if you r still holding on to your assumption; that Yorubas are socialist by nature or you have changed your mind as regards that assumption. I think this is the right time for us to keep the record straight, it's a wrong assertion that Igbos are more business oriented than Yorubas. Lies from pit of hell, our approaches to businesses is what differentiate Yorubas from Igbos and the same thing applicable to Hausas/Fulanis too. The only thing that differentiate Igbos from others-Yorubas,Hausas/Fulanis in business world is their_Igbos quest for success at all cost and this unrivalled ability to stay as apprentices for years in preparation for their own capital outlay into their own businesses while Yorubas would prefer to go to school for that period of time. The typical example of this point is not far fetched; Yoruba movie industry and Igbo movie industry are good for our case study, which one is more thriving in financial abundance? your answer is as good as mine Bro. Before Africa invasion by Europeans, business has always be our main source of income in Yoruba nation; competition was what Yoruba businesses were all about. Yorubas were more capitalists by nature than being socialists and I ll prove this to you. Back in the day, we have what we called Obas and Baales, at the end of every month or year, Baale would gather a percentage of what they(his subjects engaging in businesses, farming etc) have made in the whole month or year and send the well deserved percentage to the Obas(central-federal government in a way); and this was as good as what we called decentralised government(True federalism) today. Igbos are business oriented was a wrong assertion that started back in the days and nobody seems to be bothered about it in 21st century but I personally think it's high time we separate the wheat from the chaff. Yes in just said that Bro!!! hmmmm!! read on......... In 60s, Yorubas preferred education to businesses while Hausa/Fulanis preferred to be in the military but by late 60s to early 70s, Igbos started embracing education and still hold on to their businesses. Yorubas were not left out of the equation too, they started engaging more in businesses while education remained a priority to every Yorubas. As at today, there are millions of Yorubas in businesses, doing amazingly well; from Akande, Adenuga, Folawiyo, Okoya, Davido's dad(forgotten his name), my dad -kill youself or go hug transformer for squeezing my dad in there(my pale dey try too), Otedollars, Alakija, Balogun etc and of course, those women and men in Balogun market, Dugbe market, 70% of Nigerian thriving business in London and US are owned by Yorubas. |

mickeyenglish:You are right my Brother. The drum of war is being beaten by the Igbos in south west by demanding for what they would never give to others in their region. It's quite sad that our relationship with Igbos ll be caught short, any moment from now. They deserves to be treated the way they are being treated in the north(except the violence) and that is exact treatment we should be subjecting them to but not violence though. What I meant was that our political leaders should ensure that Igbos are kept at bay as far as south west political sphere is concerned |

FolarinLondon:what is the OPC doing about this utter disrespect, calling our land no man's land, even questioning the use of yoruba language in Lagos, threatning our govt to fund their yam nonsense, one day this people will question the authority of our obas. Are we truly soft that they disrespect us on our land and we pretend nothing is wrong, where are yoruba youths, like you i dont support violence against this people but something must be done about this open confrontation and disrespect. This is a duty we owe the unborn generation unless our unborn generation becomes tenants on their own land. I am dissappointed no yoruba group has ever raised this issue. Enough of this disrespect |

Frenchkiss564:The calls from Yorubas all over the world for Igbos exit from south west is gaining momentum online and of course offline and the sole responsibility of keeping this momentum lies on our shoulders as Yoruba youth. I ll get in touch with few people within my reach in the next couple of weeks and see what happen from there........... It's high time Yorubas Leaders are confronted with our demand which is "IGBOS SHOULD BE KEPT AT BAY IN OUR POLITICAL SPHERE". I am equally suggesting that a Yoruba Youth Defence Movement should be inaugurated right here on Nairaland and ..................... |

| Re: Ojukwu's Letter To Yorubaman Banjo..."taking Our Destinies Into Our Hands" by tonychristopher: 6:21pm On Jan 02, 2015 |
FolarinLondon:Nice submission but you should know is that the only thing that seperates Igbo is that irrespective of the education. The average Igbo is a risk taker and entrepreneur.. that is what differentiate Igbo from Yoruba Both are educationally minded but the duffderebce is that the Igbo dude will work for an organization for sometime and go and run his own firm but the Yoruba dude is will love to have a long service award but that isokay If you llook at subsidy and Jonathan issue you should and will understand that Yoruba will cry government this and that and you rarely find Igbo antagonising So from the deduction you will see that Yoruba are tilting toward socialism and communism whereas Igbo are on capitalism This is the way nature and nurture made it I think yoribas should venture out of their comfort areas and find a way to dominate those areas instead if crying wolf everyday People are beginning to see yoribas as a lazy bunch They cried Ghana must go Noe they are crying Igbo That means they can't compete You will see in park they will form a cartel to control price ..same in the market the cartel minded women ..this is not competition and this is not capitalism So you can see this everyday . With this mentality they can't compete and you know competition brings out thebest |

tonychristopher:Lol!!!!! I am laughing at your ignorance. Go and study the history of India and Pakistan, South Sudan and Sudan and few other countries around the world. Like I said earlier, the momentum of getting you out of south west is gathering online and clandestinely offline, just watch out. Your likes never expected Hausas/Fulanis to subject them to what they went through in the hands of hausas/fulanis in the 60s until Igbos pushed them to wall. We are even praying for the war to take place in Lagos so as to get rid of you and your likes forever(Back to your Eastern region) If you fight your landlord from now till eternity, u ll be d one to leave his house either u like it or not. |

This topic is really self-defined Bro, pls ask me how or what do I meant by that? It's like a Nigeria citizens telling America citizens that Nigeria is more economically successful than America as a nation. Trust me, you might end up in prison for the rest of you life for making such statements. Look around the world and tell me how many US citizens do u see in Nigeria................................. |
