I just feel uncomfortable with the cushion chairs in our train. Even though they are great now, i wonder how long they will last.

If you noticed, trains abroad have plastic seats, so that they can be easily cleaned out, even if someone vomits on it.

Anyhow, i thank our working President GEJ for providing Nigerians a functional train. Something the others simply failed to do.

haters will always have a way of seeing the negative

if GEJ put plastic chair you'll say its cushion they use abroad

now we have a cushion here were you can seat for more than a hour without pain to your ass
yet they are asking for pastic

What is wrong with the post? Dont quote me with nonsense next time. Is train the major problem Nigeria is facing now? Security zero, corruption zero, economy zero, power zero and you are here shouting rubbish.

What I said is, let us get the fundamentals right first before anything can be built. We cant build castles in the sky. I will try a new government that will tackle the pressing needs of Nigeria.
you are a juvenile when it comes to economic matters..a similar thread is on the front page where people are commending the improved power from aba to enugu to bayelsa to Ogun...the security challenge in the northern part of the country is peculiar, and for a known reason..even that is is gradually and decisively being tackled..keep grasping at straws with your hackneyed and regurgitated mantra of " corruption"

Stop being ungrateful sir.

Like I said, I enjoyed the experience and am grateful for it. Like I also said, it is NOT enough to get my vote considering other less than pleasant experiences I've had in the last 4 years

Awwww!!! God will surely bless GEJ for us even though he has his own short comins but who hasn't?
Travelling from Enugu to PH is a turtous journey of at least 4hrs by road and for a fee of at least N1500. If really you did that journey for 3hrs for that amount, I must say big ups to the FG on this one.
My people please, let's put political affiliations aside and applaude a good thing when we see it. Cheers

Am no fan of GEJ but i bet you this train is better than Metra train in Chicago. Go make your research and draw your conclusion.. Development is in stages bro. Do you want to move from condition of no train to bullet trains? The whole city of Chicago does not have a bullet train. GEJ has not been the best but he deserve praise in some aspect of the economy he has performed well... Just passing by

Ok dmc is not too much of a problem my brother but I leave you with this good message from the top.

Plastic seats are suitable for short distances and mostly used in high speed metrolines.
They will just have to figure out a way to clean em.

BE INFORMED: Give the present administration credit for not abandoning the rail system initiated by previous governments. A contract for the overhaul of the nation's rail system was awarded in 1995 for $598 million. Much later it was alleged that only five out of the 60 locomotives brought into the country were functional. When Obasanjo came to power another contract worth $70 million with the same Chinese firm was signed. In 2001, Obasanjo paid a further $10 million to the same company and with about three months to the end of his tenure, paid another $250 million out of the contract sum of $8.3 billion without any provision for it in the budget. That's what the Yar' Adua/Jonathan administration inherited and nurtured to fruition. The scheme reeks of corruption and greed and was subject of various probes but at least there's result.

Ok, you seem to be a reasonable person, so lemme try to reason with you. What is this known reason you refer to? and if it is known, why does it still persist?

You say corruption is hackneyed and regurgitated (which simply means it is an overused term), but that is not a solution, nor does it mean a solution is no longer required. Corruption, no matter how hackneyed, is still our major problem. I can list specific instances of deliberate lack of will to fight it, but I'm sure you know them as well as I do. So, what I'm saying is, in my opinion, change is the way to go. If one person hasn't made much progress after 6 years in office, why should I reasonably think the next 4 would be any different? And dont tell me 6 years is not enough time. The Niger bridge was built in 6 months by Balewa, even IBB constructed the third mainland bridge (longest bridge in Africa till today) in less than 2 years - still doesn't mean IBB was a good president. Buhari was in office for less than 2 years, and his work is still being hailed. 6 years is definitely more than enough time to transform Nigeria!!!

I took a train ride from KD to Ibadan.......it was a good experience...beautiful train, excellent service, cheap and affordable as well......................that said, Resurrecting railway transport is not enough for get my vote. Do something about security, electricity, employment, corruption ( abi na stealing ), the economy 1st. This is about the 4th or so thread am seeing abt these trains. Is that all he can do? Jonathanians have been shouting about this train as if it is one new technological wonder. Can you take the train to your village? You still have to negotiate those death traps called roads.
Oliver twist... Over thirty years of rot should be revamped in a few years? Rail projects are heavily capital intensive. Power sector has been privatised.. It's left for the private firms to invest billions of dollars (cost of large scale generation installation averages about 1 - 2 million dollars per megawatt. And we need 50,000 megawatts to even scratch the surface)... Those village roads you're talking of aren't federal roads, divert the criticism to your LG and state govt.

Big phool, is only u that have not heard that gej has already signed a contract for speed train that will connect all the major cities in nigeria. My fear is that if a despot like buhari comes to power he will cancel the contract.
