I feel your pain Bro, you are not alone, I spent 4 yrs in Primary school and my parents don't even ask to see my result, 11 times 1st Position. Primary 1 = 2, Pri 2=1 Pri 3=3, Pri 4=3 Pri 5=2 nd Merit in FSLC thanks to my 2 teachers who discover and help me jump class and I still retain 1st

I remember coming out 1st in pry 4, and the guy who thought it was his birth right had to invite his oldman to school o after all the Probing I still came out on top it was no fluke.

Kudos to the girl! I sincerely congratulate her for her success.
We should learn to always see what is Right with us and not what is Wrong.
The girl will surely be encouraged with this little recognition and celebration of her efforts.
Kudos to the dutiful and incisive parents too!

Yes, it's a good thing. Just last week I was in a studio recording a song and the producer gave me a thumb up for the way I was going from stanza to stanza so smoothly. I remember instantly feeling elated and doing even better.

Some parents are never satisfied with their child's performance...you do well,they say there's no competition or the class population is low. Fail n you will be d dumbest child dey have.

I wasn't very bright in my early days tho..I bagged top positions from the back..like 9th of 12...12th of 12...d best postion was 5th of 12....... ..I never got flogged tho cuz I was jaz a kid. I took first position in basic 3 for the time n it was d best day..I gt a special dinner that night .
I was 4th d next term n that was a day to remember..I got flogged ehh...n I served punishment for hours..

I bounced back to my 1st position n the twin bruvas who used to be the 1st n 2nd got shifted to 2nd n 3rd..They later left the school n I had 1st position from that term till ss1 2nd term when i started taking 2nd position till I gt out of sch :') buh my percentage was still kinda good :').

I always gt 'welldone' 'work harder' 'stay focused''thanks for making me proud' and lotta smiles n hugs....Had I gotten sometin like this I might be in Harvard Uni on scholarship now .

when she was a bit calm, she called me into d guest room and told me she would like to have a word wid me. Her cheeks were still smeard in tears and her eyes, made red by age and pain, starred softly at me as I stood there at d door. I went out and ask my wife to take d kids to d circus.

Well, nosa, itz a very long story, woven with foundational tales from her matrimonial home to her, I must say, well-respected father's house. But I want u to know encouraging a child can lead to multiple feats thereabout and in d future and in the same line, d opposit can spell disaster unknowingly. I have the heartbreaking story of an autistic child whose life the parents unbelievably reshaped in my very eyes. Nothing should be considered too much. An action or inaction in a child's life and psyche can culminate in a multi-related future self-defeats, failure, withdrawal and abandonment.
After my mom word with me, I saw a new life in my kid and vowed to remake her psyche as much as I can. I succeeded.
I came back from work a few months later, park my car on d street around my gate, stroll into d house, call my first dota: "my princess, enter yur car n drive to d gate and pack my files into yur car and drive them down and offload them in d garrage for dady." She did just dat. She has improved tremendously from her deep-sitted subconcious fear and rooted anxiety for the unknown. U wouldnt believ what she is capable of now!

The day I graduated with first class, my dad just said congratulations... I'm proud of you. Mum was like good job dear. That's all shingbain didn't follow. What will I do? As for the girl, it's a great Morale booster if she sees it that way. Success is a thing of the mind and if u can dream it, you can attain it. Just diligence and consistency is the difference between success and failure

Lol. Came home at d end of every session in d university with a best student award from my department and all I got for those 4 years were 'u sure so? U sure say na school dey give u all these awards?' And when I Graduated with a first class degree, all I got was an oversized dress I never wore

i used to be like that when i was primary school, but my Dad showed me thunder and brim stone, he even made write with banana leaf in school. no be person tell my brain to wake up.

At first I saw this funny, until I remembred that I once taught children for 4 yrs before I gained admission into the university.

Like I always tell parents, little children need motivation. Instead of flogging them, encourage them to work harder. I bet you, in ten yrs time, this lady will bring honour to her home. U never can undrstand what that party meant for her.
