Lol,is it ewa oloyin or agonyin, bring some for us o? You can pack beans but make sure there is no weevil in it or else na confiscation sure pass. Palm oil is dicey, they will start bugging you from our MMA but some gangster mama like Phema and co have travelled with frozen palm oil in the past. You can always get good palm oil in African stores for between $5 to $11 depending on the Kg,so leave it if possible.

Hello house please I need your advise, my wife is final year student in Nigeria and currently 4months pregnant.

she intends to give birth in USA and will be applying from Naija stating she is studying and I ve a business in Nigeria as a business man. She has N5M in her account in Zenith so I believe cash shouldn't be a problem.

She intends to submit a original letter from the university stating she is a student and her school ID card. And if they ask that who is the sponsor she will say her husband who is based in Nigeria working as a business man. ( She has the original copy of my registered business in Nigeria)

Please note; the reason we don't want to state that i am based in the UK is because we believe she might be asked why doesn't she want to give birth in the uk. For this reason, we had to get a new passport so her UK spouse visa is not on her passport when she applies.

Please house, I need your humble visa on our plan. I have not really heard about students travelling to give birth but usually working people. Make una advise please. What do you think of our plans?

Hi all, so by the grace of a God, my stay in Elpaso comes to a successful end on Sunday, Jan 11th when I leave for NAija. Shout out to Baba God Himself and his beautiful children on this forum who have contributed immensely to my entire experience so far. Right now, I'm on the lookout for any mom who would be coming to Elpaso soonest ...I've got the cooking and home utensils I've been using for the past 3 months and I'd love to pass it on to any mama who's interested, to save herself the stress if buying anew. A kind NAija mum gave me some of them on my arrival here and the rest I bought. Feel free to pm me if interested so we can work out an arrangement as to where I'd leave them for you just in case ure arriving after I leave. Cheers all

hello damsel. congratulations and thank God for your safe delivery and hitch free stay @ El paso. I am two months gone now and would like to have my baby in the us. from what i've read so far on this thread, i think I've my mind is made up on El paso.i've visited their websites and seen their prices for 2015 for both normal and cs birth. i just hope they are as straight forward as they seem. Damsell, my question is, when do i apply for the visa,i'm a Nigerian living and working in Dubai. my baby is due in july ending and school closes june 18(i'm a teacher). i don't know when and how to start. will it be too early if i start the visa application now?(its definitely going to be for vacation and to have my baby). since u have a recent experience, i was wondering if u could tell me how to go about it?
thanks dear.

hallo. just wondering. arent things like finger prints tied to the original passport? i feel even if u get a new passport, by the time u put in finger prints for biometrics it will show she has another passport. then u risk being accused of presenting false docs etc. is it really worth it?

but hey, wetin i sabi? maybe other people know better.

1st of all...what student keeps a bank account of N5 million? That's #1 red flag. #2 she now has 2 passports which is outrightly fraudlent and criminal by Nigerian law so in essence, I'll advise you REALLY check the authenticity of the 2nd passport coz I can't imagine how it was processed. #3 you have a right to choose the country you wish to have your baby in as long as you can foot the cost. A spousal UK visa doesnt inhibit her chances in any way. I suggest she goes with her original passport and get the 2nd one cancelled by immigration so she won't create problems with Home Office.
She can go for her USA visa and tell the truth that u are based in the UK. She can tell them ahe has a particular Dr in the US she wants to use for birth. No need for all these lies. It complicates things for her in Nigeria and UK. So she would now be walking around with 2 Nigerian passports with 2 different visas

@shawbabe, thanks a lot, the N5m is from me her hubby, I run a business in naija and I run a business in the uk as well. Her spouse visa is a biometric card and not a visa stamp on the passport so she has just one new naija passport without any visa on it. (we just filed for a missing passport and got a new one at the passport office)
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by pattyreal(f): 8:46pm On Jan 04, 2015
@dayo1041 i'll advise dat she uses ur bank statement. She's a student. It will definitely raise eye brows! Xcept if she can prove d source of dat income. Secondly,u can choose 2 birth wherever u want as long as u hv d means. Thirdly, u can apply asap so dat in case of rejection u hv enuf time 2 reapply. Lastly she can use her recent passport & b truthful & pray cos dats d highest assurance u can get.

Lol when these VOs say fraud is in Nigerian DNA, we start getting angry. Well u have already got new passport, but I advise she sticks to the truth and to be honest she will have to really convince the VO that N5 million is urs. U and her have to be honest and ahow everything about both of u home and abroad. U never know, it could be what will strengthen her case.

Hmmmm...why have you decided to make things difficult for your wife? There is no need at all getting a new passport or hiding the spouse visa. She can decide to give birth in any country because she is paying for it, its not free. Spouse visa would have even increased her chances....Nigerians..smh

Thanks Shawbabe and Pattyreal; I just want the application to be as simple as possible without any complicated stories.
She can use my bank statement and I've documentation to proof the source of the money from my business both in UK.
If she uses my bank statement does that mean there will be no money in her account?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by dayo1401: 9:02pm On Jan 04, 2015
Thanks Justwise, the spouse visa is a card so by getting a new passport nothing changes really. She still has a spouse visa and we can still add it to it.
I just want her to get this visa and I want it to the as simple as possible. Thanks again for your advice
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by dayo1401: 9:05pm On Jan 04, 2015
@Justwise, please can you elaborate how UK spouse visa would help really. Wouldn't it be a valid question for the VO to ask that why does she not want to give birth in the UK when she hold a UK visa that would enable her give birth for free in London.Just a thought

Well i work but ma acc doesn't hv as much as ma hubby so I used ma hubby's own. I tink it's logical she uses only urs & can prove ur business dealings. I repeat she's a student. 4 now u r responsible 4 her until she's a graduate & has a job or business of her own she can prove.

I undestand u want a straight forward visa process for her but what u did has really dented her case. The previous passport has all her travel history and would have very much strengthen her application. This is my own 2 cents:

U provide ur account statements to her, ur passport/data page info, consent letter that u are her sponsor and the N5 mill in her account is urs with PROOF of transfer. And find out other documents u may need to give her to take along.
But on the real, what will you guys tell the Home Office when they find out the passport her biometric card is linked to is invalid? Try sit down and draw up an honest plan, of it's possible to declare the supposed missing passport found, ask her to find out. U have taken her case 4 steps back even b4 the process has started. Just pray and be honest amd transparent from now on, if it's God's will she will get the visa. Amen!

Spouse visa holder is as good as British citizen and will not be seen as a potential immigrant to US, she is entitled to free healthcare in the UK, so going to US to have her baby is a matter of choice. She has faith in their healthcare system bla bla.

Thanks Shawbabe, I will take your advice on board and provide her with those docs. With regards to home office, they are not really a problem, the are aware of a new passport and its all linked to the spouse visa biometric card.

My question will be, what reason can we give if the VO asks her that why does she not want to give birth in the UK when she has a spouse visa that allows her to give birth for free in uk and her husband is also based in UK?

In my opinion, cant she apply from the UK since she has a spouse visa? I got my initial visa in Uk with my husby whilst he was a student and it was pretty straight forward...I was about 5 months preggy when we applied in the Uk. You probably have a better chance in the UK...

just my two cents......

Some one on this thread Vavara I think is actually Russian and she was given a US visa to have her child in Tx. Ur wife has a choice of Drs, she can say she has researched on a particular Dr of interest and would like to use him/her to birth her child based on reviews and referrals. As this is her first, she wants the best during her delivery process. And I agree with Justwise, her spouse visa actually strengthens her case.
