an advise for you, though am still learning.

why not claim she is an housewife and remain silent about the school.

since the husband can sponsor, she doesn't have much stress,

House, I stand to be corrected ooo

dayo1401:
Hello house please I need your advise, my wife is final year student in Nigeria and currently 4months pregnant.

she intends to give birth in USA and will be applying from Naija stating she is studying and I ve a business in Nigeria as a business man. She has N5M in her account in Zenith so I believe cash shouldn't be a problem.

She intends to submit a original letter from the university stating she is a student and her school ID card. And if they ask that who is the sponsor she will say her husband who is based in Nigeria working as a business man. ( She has the original copy of my registered business in Nigeria)

Please note; the reason we don't want to state that i am based in the UK is because we believe she might be asked why doesn't she want to give birth in the uk. For this reason, we had to get a new passport so her UK spouse visa is not on her passport when she applies.

Please house, I need your humble visa on our plan. I have not really heard about students travelling to give birth but usually working people. Make una advise please. What do you think of our plans?

My question will be, what reason can we give if the VO asks her that why does she not want to give birth in the UK when she has a spouse visa that allows her to give birth for free in uk and her husband is also based in UK?

Why are you making your case difficult and over analysing this situation? People can give birth wherever they want. Recently some americans have started obtaining canadian passport to ward of the threat from terrorist whenever they visit the middle east.

The VO you wanna meet already know that the blue passport is the first reason people wanna birth in america. A lot of VO won't even focus on the childbirth rather they will ask themselves if she qualifies for a US Non-immigrant visa to start with,at that point her travel-history which you are erasing will count.
If asked she can tell them it's been her dream, she trust her US doctor, US has better facilities etc. But both parties know that the quest for the blue pali is the koko. grin

Don't forget she will likely fill her educational background in the DS160. She can state housewife cum student. Nothing beats telling them the way it is,his wife isn't doing anything illegal here.

(we just filed for a missing passport and got a new one at the passport office)

this means your previous passport is invalid. you cannot have 2 valid passports. claiming a passport is missing immediately renders it invalid.

Thanks 9jabiggirl, when you got your visa from UK while you were preggy what reason did you give the VO for wanting to give birth in US

Actually I had same thought of what to tell vo if they ask reason for wanting to birth in usa.so I decided to get my visa even before I got pregnant. The best option for your wife is to apply from uk it's straight forward no stress at all except for the queue outside the embassy my interview lasted for just 2 mins I was asked the reason for travelling which is for vacation, state, where I work ,who am travelling with and whether hubby is British. No document was asked for. Even with her pregnancy it's easier from uk than naija oooo

Hi all, so by the grace of a God, my stay in Elpaso comes to a successful end on Sunday, Jan 11th when I leave for NAija. Feel free to pm me if interested so we can work out an arrangement as to where I'd leave them for you just in case ure arriving after I leave. Cheers all

hello damsel. congratulations and thank God for your safe delivery and hitch free stay @ El paso. I am two months gone now and would like to have my baby in the us. from what i've read so far on this thread, i think I've my mind is made up on El paso.i've visited their websites and seen their prices for 2015 for both normal and cs birth. i just hope they are as straight forward as they seem. Damsell, my question is, when do i apply for the visa,i'm a Nigerian living and working in Dubai. my baby is due in july ending and school closes june 18(i'm a teacher). i don't know when and how to start. will it be too early if i start the visa application now?(its definitely going to be for vacation and to have my baby). since u have a recent experience, i was wondering if u could tell me how to go about it?
thanks dear.

I don't think anytime from now is too early to begin your application process. As a matter of fact, the fact that ure already reading up this topic on the forum means you've started already. Is always good to start early and get things settled way before time than having to rush rush in the end anyways. That being said, I'd think that in ur case, what you wld want to be mindful of is choosing a visa interview date that is appropriate for your schedule seeing as ure a teacher with a pretty set schedule.
Oh, by the way, are u applying from Dubai? I'm kinda assuming ure applying from Nigeria. I don't know much about the process and how it goes in Dubai.
Personally I started researching and corresponding with the hospitals pretty much as soon as I got pregnant. However, I eventually applied for my visa in July/August and travelled in October. All the best with ur plans.

Hi all,

Am currently in Houston n using dr Fagbohun. I have an affordable apartment available n it's 7mins drive to west houston medical center. My flat mate had her baby n left Houston on 2nd Jan.it's a 2 bedroom, each room has its toilet. Let me know if you are interested or if you know any1 interested. I also have a ride so moving around is not stress provided we are going towards the same direction.

Happy New Year everyone.....so sorry for the very long silence.
Had my baby in Northside Hospital
Hospital Bill came to $18608 with 75% discount came slightly less than $5000
Epidural $1300 with 20% discount came to $1040
Peadiatrian was $150 cos I didnt use the on call hospital Pediatrician
Obgy was $2550 whom was very expensive and not straight forward.
I declined the use of nursery and refused all vaccines for the baby but got a bill of $1069ish, went back to dispute bill n it came down to $290.

Here is just a quick break down from the top of my head as I left Atlanta exactly two weeks after delivery to be home in time for Christmas.
I applied n got birthcerth same day n applied for passport d day after, it was ready in 48hrs with evidence I was travelling on 23/12.
I hope this helps someone to make a better decision.

Many thanks and best wishes to everyone.

MrsDan, congratulations and welcome back home. Please, why did you refuse vaccines for your newborn?

Please House, I'm expecting triplets after waiting for 9 years and when is it the best time I can travel? If anyone has Dr. Fagbohun's email address, kindly post it. I can't find where I wrote it down.

Still searching for a hospital . I have my visa which I have used a number of times to the States. Thanks daddies and mummies.

Spouse visa holder is as good as British citizen and will not be seen as a potential immigrant to US, she is entitled to free healthcare in the UK, so going to US to have her baby is a matter of choice. She has faith in their healthcare system bla bla.
