"Historically, the Fulani played a significant role in the rise and fall of ancient African empires such as the Ghana Empire, the Mali Empire, Songhai, and the Mossi states."

Um... I perfectly understand that Fulani clans were part of these empires' history, either as people living within their boundaries, as Muslim scholars, or even as rival states. All of those empires were multiethnic and multicultural anyway. But they were not Fulani empires in the sense that their founders and rulers were not Fulani.

Please, in no way am i attempting to belittle Fulani achievements. The earliest kingdom in West Africa to become Muslim was after all Takrur (which I understand was a Fulani kingdom), and in the 19th century the Fulani created West Africa's largest empire of that time - the Sokoto Calipate.

We should know from our history that the only way we can be strong and taken seriously is by building similar states. No matter if one is an Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani, Mande, Akan, Muslim, Christian, Animists, what matters is that we are all Africans and share this beautiful, rich land. Our forefathers understood that. But today, even within a small country like Guinea, people can't get along. Mchew, things need to change.

@Radoillo this statement that OmarBah has placed in front of "Afro-Centrists" like myself is what I want to see. I want to see the West African region rise and go far, farther than China, U.S. and the rest of the world.

Precisely. Today every Nigerian complains about how his ethnic group has little in common with the other group, and how they should be allowed to form a sovereign state of their own.

It's retar.ded and ridiculous in my opinion. It just takes us 1,000 steps backwards from surpassing world super powers.

Right when folks are realizing that most nation states can't defend their interest anymore including those of Europe. If you are not India, or China or North America, better associate with someone quick. The world is only going to get tougher for smaller countries. What in GOD's name do they think they will accomplish with their little states? I don't get it.

I swear me and maakhair are not the same person. I have been on this site for 3 years now, and I have never hid my identity. Part of who I am is identifying my self. You just want to deny that Somalis dont like Bantus. WE DONT. YOU YOURSELF HAVE BEEN ASKED IF YOU SEE YOUR SELF AS BLACK AND YOU SAID NO.

THE SOMALI BLOOD LIVES ON THORUGH ME, AS YOU ARE A B!TCH

You've been on this site for three years with 100s of usernames and a fake picture... All we know of you is that you're an immature lowlife bastar.d with internet connection. How many Somalis, Eritreans and Ethiopians have signed up to this site just to distance themselves from you? Over 10 people thus far, so don't act like people agree with your bravado because we don't!

LOL @ Somali blood lives through me. Amar ilaahi that is not the case. Prick!
