Hello all, please av asked ds question b4 but no response from d house. I graduated from a school that has no institutional mailing addy (email e.g. ...@unilag.edu.ng) and its part of d requirement by d sch I wanna apply to in terms of reference (referees), what can I do to get past ds stage? Am sure some people in d house would have experience similar issue, pls kindly assist a brother 'n' respond. Rgds

Here are some suggestions based on my experience:
1. Your professor can use his company email address if he owns or works with another establishment. then in the 'title' field while completing the recommendation should put: professor at xyz university and director at abc company.

2. this may be your more likely bet. the university you're applying to may allow other means for verifying the referee. one way may be for the referee to scan his university id card or provide a link to one of his papers online (if he's a professor or PhD holder, he should have atleast one paper that is accessible online)

I suggest you write to the department you are applying to find out more about option 2

Hello,
If you can't tell your employer you are leaving, you may have someone who you are close too at the office to help you get the letter. Maybe some in HR or Admin dept

You can always make a payslip for yourself, Most private firm don't issue that. Make one and get it stamped

You will have to include you bank Statement just so the payslip and statement do not contradit.

This is my opinion. Other's in the house will give there's

Today, Thursday, Jan 8 2015 makes its exactly 11 weeks I submitted my app, still hoping for the best . I applied Thursday October 23, 2014 via the paper route.
Paper route averages 3 months processing time at this time...Processing times changes depending on volume of work at the said time..I think online has been more consistent..

Why do you think the average processing times for online applications have been more consistent?

Morning guys, please I need an urgent answer to this question. If someone's visa page where the canadian visa was stamped has expired but still has a study permit ? Does anyone know how to go about getting a new one that he doesn't have to wait. Because he was turned back by the airline

Just before I applied the paper route took about 6/8weeks same as online, for now both routes aren't consistent.

As regards the last sentence, I was speaking from a general perspective(overall). If u understand..Your best bet is to stick with the average processing time stated on the website. It is good to also check with nairalanders here, bt note that they don't represent the entire number of peeps who apply for this..

Hello Halimaah, I guess you mean passport. If yes, the person should get a new passport, the visa will still be valid if the date on it isn't expired.

Its only logical to believe so..becos it is easier, faster, and can be easily assessed unlike the other route...How can u explain someone who applied one month later than u did and getting his TRV while you are still on waiting list? From the records here with peeps using online, their waiting time doesn't change that much(roughly thesame). But with paper route, some 2 months, some 4 months etc

Well I actually did speak based on the awaitees list we keep here. If you had been following for like 3months you'd understand too.

I still believe that paper route is currently faster.......base on the progress here. Virtually every1 is now going for online submission, that leaves fewer app being treated for those that applied via paper. Except for Tnuola case. Joe980 did paper on Nov 1.. He has long travel to canada. Likewise others that got delayed after 5-6 weeks where paper route. Those that submited way ahead of them through online ar stil here waitin for medical or pp request.
Online route has become quit clumsy....

Hi,

1.) I am curious to know who requested for an employee reference letter. Are you applying for a student visa? Personally, I used just my employment letter and then I scanned my work ID card. If you can get leave letter, better but not everyone wants to let their employers know. In whatever case, the employment letter should be enough.

2.) I did not add payslips to mine. I however included my staff account statement with my application so the VO can tell through the monthly inflows my pay structure. If you can get it though, great. I actually forgot to include it.

3.) I don't know what you're applying for but if its a student visa, on the checklist under Proof of Financial Support, employment letter is right there. You can include your employment letter, your sponsor's employment letter, however it applies.

4.) Okay now I think you are not applying for a Study visa, yes? There was no place that required certifications, etc except of course in the Letter of Explanation part where people just add their certificates and qualifications just to serve as a proof of whatever it is they stated on their application.

Guys, it's great to be here.

I will be applying by the end of this month for a temporary work permit in Canada (I am participating in a one-year program there). This is my first post on this thread and I have a few questions:

1) Aside an Appointment Letter from my current employer (in Nigeria), I am also requested to provide an Employment Reference Letter, i.e., a recently-dated letter from my current employer giving details of my work history with them (duration, job specs, etc). The problem is I can't tell my current employer that I am leaving. How do I get this letter? Any alternative?

2) The company also doesn't issue pay slips. How do I deal with that requirement too?

3) My bank statement may have helped to address the pay slip matter since the Salary credit will be seen at the end of every month's statement. Unfortunately, it was not in the checklist of documents that I need to submit. I am surprised. Is this the norm? Do I attach it in some other way? or just ignore?

4) If my occupation is not a regulated one like medical jobs, what do I upload in place of the required license/certification?

Thanks in advance.

Please After Landing in Canada on a study permit visa, how soon can someone invite his /her spouse for a visit? Someone said at least after spending first 6 months in Canada. I don't know how true that is
