I pity GEJ while buhari is enjoying a smooth ride in the ss and se his supporters here are being intimidated and threatened with death. Sometimes whe I read here how the ss ad se bRothers are clamouring for buhari it makes me wonder, hmm if only they live in the north the northern christains don't want buhari. I ve no problem with apc I only have a problem with buhari bcz that name alone is violence on its own. Here in some part of the north if u r not a buhari suporter you dare not argue about that else you will be. Attacked. While in camp we were adviced not to argue politics with any one can u imagine not being able to exercise your right for fear of being attacked just ordinary disribution of pvc here some one wa s stabed to death. No corper is willing to participate in the election everyone is planning to travel b4 the election. If only you ewarriors know how tense the atmosphere is here in the north u will only be praying for nigeria and not fighting each other on the internet. Mind u if north has the highest no of pvc collection it means nothing because there are also a lot of northerner who will vote GEJ. B4 u start shouting that I know nothing about the north I am a northerer by birth not by origin and I ve lived there all my life. If only apc had fielded another cadidate may be just may be we will be able to exercise our right without fear. As I type this now, people are selling off their properties and relocating some will come back after the election. Buhari has brought nothing but fear, intimidation and violence in nothern nigeria. Only God will save us in this election.
My God!
There you have it folks. This submission pretty much sums up everything I've been saying about APC and its Presidential Standard bearer. Buhari in a sane country can't be in circulation post 2011 crises. The state must and should have found a way to cage him for National Security purposes.
I keep telling people that had APC fielded a highly highly tested, intelligent and competent Fashola, Osho baba or even Mallam Elrufai (Forget his mouth Diarrhoea, that guy is actually very sound) I would have ditched Jonathan long ago as he's not at the level this aforementioned guys are intellectually.
But what do we have? A spent General who ruled as head of State long before I was born was anionted by the APC cabal to lead the change that would transform Nigeria to 21st century compliant nation. What a joke!
All because of his occultic following by the erratic fanatics called supporters and errorous believe that a certain part of the country has arrogantly arrogated Leadership of this country to their part our country. Where we not in this country when a NO-NO like Abacha ruled comfortably until he died there. Is Abacha more intellectually competent than Jonathan considering already established that GEJ's intellectual capacity is a little below par. But nobody questioned Abacha's Leadership and intellectual abilities even in death when it's clear to all he's the biggest dunce to have ruled this country. That was a Northern.
I pity my South west brothers. This is a people whom God has blessed with so much literacy and sound intellectual accumen but has choosen several times over to be slaves to the illiterate North. I mean howelse do you explain abadoning an erudite scholar like Fashola for a man struggling to produce a "common" SSCE certificate. Its a shame really.
The lady I quoted has given a clear picture of the man APC is floating and what his name truly stands for.

Jonathan failed lift the burden of expectation of most people and is seen to have largely failed but a 72yr old retired General who truncated the same democracy he's now seeking to serve cannot offer me, my family, colleagues of equal education and indeed my generation the change this nation so desperately needs.

I'm therefore sticking with GEJ come Feb 15 hoping he'll from the humiliation of his near defeat, shake off his personal timidity that has so laundered his public image, rise up to the dictates of his office, unite this country and strategically t towards the path to progressive healing.

GEJ till APC fields a true DEMOCRAT

I was getting irritated by the writer's bias, but when I got to the point below:
I couldn't stomach the irritation anymore.

Firstly, the writer made it sound as though it is INEC's fault some people have decided not to go out and collect their PVCs!! Of course not all eligible voters have theirs ready (which is a lapse that cuts across all the geopolitical zones), but the writer tried to make it look as though people from "Jonathan's strongholds" are the worst hit. Does he have a proof of that??

INEC published a data detailing the percentage PVC collection as against what has been made available across the country and one saw that Lagos, which constitutes one of the major advantages of the opposition, was lagging behind with barely over 50% of cards available collected so far, while states like Akwa-Ibom has very large percentage (84% there about). I bet the writer is ignorant of this!!! Does INEC have to coerce voters to go out and collect their PVCs?? The answer is, NO!

And back to the highly disgraceful quote above; the writer stated the incidences of violence the opposition has suffered as though it were some minor thing that could easily be waved aside, yet when he mentioned those suffered by PDP, he sounded like heaven was about to fall!! Tell me, since he chose to use the words apart from, let me join him in the game of "trivialising": now, "apart from" the burning of Jonathan's bus and the destruction of his campaign posters, what other casualty has PDP suffered?? People (APC members) were shot at at in PH and their secretariat bombed, but the writer imagines these are of lesser severity compared to burning of a bus and destruction of posters from the tone of his voice!!shocked

How bias can a journalist be!!!

This write up is one of such things that fuel the violence the writer wants to make us believe he's preaching against. The guy must be restrained before he causes more harm.

When I got to that quote, I stopped and decided to check out the link. I wasn't surprised when I saw the name of the writer.

That is what other Nigerians are saying, GEJ has failed to turn up when he is most needed by his peopl e north or South. Otherwise why will the SE which is the heartbeat of the president's vote not have their PVC easily? After all the is a Government for the Igbos and of the Igbos, it will loss steam without their support.

Re: How The Elections Are Already Being Rigged - Vanguard by Eziachi: 11:31am On Jan 15, 2015
When I saw this thread I was looking forward to reading an investigative journalism reporting of a journalist who must have worked hard to detect a certain loophole in the system and alerting all concerned.
But was highly disappointed with a poorly written pious opinion of a politician masquerading as a journalist.
First he trivialize the incident of bombings and shooting that took the life of one Emenike Okrika as APART FROM.
Why is bombing down a house and shooting to take a look warrants APART FROM compared to burning a van? No sort of violence should carry more mention than the other unless you are bias and partisan.
It worries me what politics can do the mentality of decent people.
From the campaign strategy of both parties, APC seems to travel in a certain order of zones, while PDP chose to campaign randomly.

Igbo people are naturally hospitable people. Eze Ikonne of Aba, one of the few remaining genuine traditional rulers in Igboland, if he chooses to give Buhari a title as a courtesy it's nothing new. Who knows what he reserved for Jonathan when he arrived.

Am irked by those who complained last time that Buhari did not bother to campaign in the East as theirs only reason for not voting for him, are equally complaining noe that he is campaigning.

No one attacked Jonathan is 2011 campaign in the north and he campaigned in Kano on the day of Nyanya bombing and no one attacked him.
Why is this writer stoking or insighting northerners to attack Jonathan when he arrives to campaign in the north?
When has Plateau State becomes north again? When am been told daily that those areas are no longer part of northern Nigeria by political prophets?

Nice write up

Unfortunately a lot of APC fans even on Nairaland are e terrorists.

This election is a victory GEJ must win in the spirit of equity as shown to the SW people

SS must have their complete 8years or APC should find other sources to fund their government and everyone should get ready to feed themselves.

As for we the people of SE, we are fully in support of SS right to 2 terms

Say No to political slavery cool
Heeeeeee young man don't bring our SE pple into this matter biko. Talking abt SS finishing their '2 terms', which part of the constitution said so? and did the NW or North in whole finished their 1st term after SW (OBJ) 2 terms? For me and many SE pple we are solidly behind GMB. Support Ijaw man, tufiakwa. Memories of Biafran war stll fresh in mind. Oooh, I 4got u weren't born by then.

Better don't quote me!!
oh yes that's right, travelling across the SW forested spaces and lands, it becomes obvious how many south westerners have swapped their white and blue collars for the green collars of farmwork.
Come to think of it, isn't a large percentage of people actually doing farming as a livelyhood of south-south origin specifically Delta statehuh
And yet you are going to take up the farming challenge? Right?

Nice write up, but I would admit that the writer is a bit biased in favour of GEJ.

But points raised are valid indeed.

Why are Northern peeps not allowing PDP to campaign freely up North like He is enjoying in the SS and SE, Even in the President's home state Bayelsa State no one harassed or is harassing them.

People up North should turn a new leaf fotr things to work.
A sincere evaluation of the writeup shows how bias the writer is. The truth is Goodluck wont even have the stomach to entertain what his people have for him, if they can accept a total strenger with an open hand, in that regard someone contending with their son which means Goodluck will not be welcome as much as they have welcomed buhari in his hometown

From all indication it shows that he is half rejected by his people, or else the same people would have been able to halt buhari's campaign in the State.

I thought I was the only one that had the same sentiments. The writer of the article is a dummy. Buhari was threatened in the last election, thus, refused to visit certain parts of the Eastern Region for his own safety. Not only that, Lagos voters are currently being disenfranchised on orders of the Presidency because they know they will lose badly down there. Then you add the ethnic cleansing in the North being encouraged (and partly orchestrated) by the Federal Government and you get an idea which road Nigeria is traveling through... all because of an inept man that loves power so much.

The writer is damn right, infact, I'm shocked that GEJ would allow such blatant disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands in his strong-hold. INEC obviously has a sinister objective, yesterday, I went to Inec Imo state head-office along port-Harcourt road to collect my PVC only to be told that it is not available, there were many of us including those that came from far distance areas. We were not even allowed to go inside by the security men at the gate. Now the same INEC would go to the media and make it sound as if the southerners are not willing to collect their PVC when in actual sense they have technically denied us.

Well said. Need I add that zoning is a pa issue and not a national one coz it has no place in our Constitution. Besides, (1)Jonathan is running on Yar'adua tenure or is Yar'adua a SS man?

For those saying that Buhari is the sponsor of Boko Haram, (2)did he @ anytime admit to knowing who they are? NO Our President on the other hand (3)said he does and what has he done in that regard? Nothing..people are dying in thousands, you know their sponsors and you have done nothing? That is pure evil. Its just like friends kill his children.
(4)Just sad that intelligent youths cover their h religious and tribal sentiments.
Enough is Enough..we Nigerians shouldn't have it this bad.
1 - are you suggesting Jonathan is complicit in yaraduas demise, 'cos if not, the northerners only have themselves to blame for gross political miscalculation and it gladdens my heart that they are doing it again by championing an obviously senile(senility doesn't occur overnight, it creeps in slowly but steadily) buhari then peraventure he wins a does a yaradua, you'll now claim osibanjo is serving buhari's tenure abihuh

2 - c'mon, don't be naive.....were you really expect him to? To show he has no affiliation to them, let him come out and go beyond lamblasting the goverment for bungling the handling of the crisis and ACTUALLY CALL OUT BOKO HARAM IN NAME AND CONDEMN THEIR IDEOLOGY AND THEIR ACTIVITIES AND TELL THE WORLD IN PUBLIC THAT THEY AND THEIR ACTIONS ARE NOT JUST UNISLAMIC, THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY ANTI-ISLAMIC but he won't do that would he? He would rather call them misguided youths reacting to poverty pervasive in the region, or he will say they are fighting against bad leadership or the best one is that they are goverment agents of destabilization in the northeast to prevent free and fair voting but he won't actually condemn them why? Because that would be him speaking from both sides of his mouth seeing as it is all just a chess game to him and the peoples of adamawa, borno and parts of yobe are not hausa/fulani and therefore expendable northern pawns.

3 - no he hasn't done nothing, he has done that and only that which he is allowed to do under the laws of the land which is prosecute those suspected of engaging in, aiding and abetting terrorism and that with little success because it is one thing to suspect and know someone is complicit, it is another thing to gather enough evidence to prove them guilty. Also, if you would remember that the law is so designed to err on the side of the guilty and the onus is always on the prosecution to prove guilt.
Also, it will be wise if you disabuse yourself of the notion that people like buhari or anyone else can be thrown into jail to await evidence being dug up against him on the basis of mere suspicion alone, this isn't buharis 1984 junta where you could rule by edicts and decrees, this is jonathans 3rd republic democracy where even the president despite his immunity can be held accountable by the people through the legislature and at the ballot box.

4 - isn't it rich that you expect other Nigerians to rise above religous and tribal sentiments when the hausa/fulani drones in the north obviously wouldn't? Nice try though.
