Guy, don't get yourself confused. The topic is very simple. It is not whether prophecies are real or not, it is more about knowing which one to believe when you have different prophecies from different revered men of god.

While I agree that religion can be spiritual, I've found that spirituality is more idiosyncratic and private while religion is more about public rituals and organized doctrines.

It's exactly the same way it happened in biblical times. All the writers of the bible claim their revelations came from god or were divinely inspired. Some even claim their own version of events were written by god himself.Yet,no two books of the bible correlate. Discrepancies,innacuracies and outright falsehood are the bane of the 'holy book'.
But we are told we are of carnal minds thus,cannot understand the book. We need to ginger our swagger spiritually to enable us comprehend it fully. Anyhoo,what do i know

And who told you such lies?? Isn't abraham rich, isn't joseph the dreamer rich, daniel was with king,the highest authority in the land...solomon was rich but he didn't end well. Jesus became poor that we might be rich, His blessing makes us rich without adding sorrow to it. The point line is, don't let your wealth become your God, the love of money is the beginning of evil. Poverty can push a poor man to hell. So bro, change such thinking please

However I've discarded most of the things I was taught.

Now I'm learning and experiencing.

I believe there's a supernatural force at work in us though, causing us to do that which is unto his good pleasure --- and ours too smiley

It all boils down to our mindset and awareness as it relates to what He/It is doing.

they are all saying the same thing but from different perspective/angle...it's like somebody describing an elephant...u can describe the leg, anoda one the ear, the trunk and so on...just need somebody to put dem together to form the frame of the whole message....bible says 'we know in part, we prophesy in part... God wont give the whole counsel to one person...so dat we will be dependent on each other..

True true!! I hate it when people say we can't judge these men who can easily be found gulity of sin just by quoting a few words from the new testament or any sacred book they hold dear. Not every vision is from God. We have been sleeping for too long which has now tranceformed our creator to a human kind of creation in the eyes of those with that seek extra knowledge other than the one they were taught. I don't believe any of these people even though one of them is the GO of my place of worship.
