Ladies and gentlemen, I jet off 4th February to my base in Perth!
It hasn't been easy in Nigeria, life!
A country where nothing works, my prayer is for my kids to never have to go through what I went through to get where I am.
Anyways, thanks to all who started and kept this forum running, the dictator justwise(take a joke for once in your life man), my mortal enemy jenny(gone offline, still with us in spirit), bossladymo and all the others to numerous to mention.
its a long trip and an even longer life plan(2years msc at my age no b beans men), but having waited for sanity to come to Nigeria, and with no end to that wait in sight, I now leave that wait to more able people like that character that says husband and wife for your unborn children is one of the reasons to stay and wallow in the mediocrity my country has become.
I'm so fecking excited, this is probably the biggest life decision I will ever make, but its time to leave my comfort zone, do something new everyday of my life and actually live!
I will always come here to update all of you of the wonders my eyes will see from the moment I arrive and as I tour Australia,

with all this riches still want to leave them and relocate to Australia. If i am in your shoes, i will go to australia collect the pr and return back to my base. I heard that the grass is not that green over there.

Kokolobi, leaving Nigeria exposes people to various global opportunities available globally. Several years ago, i got a stable job and refused to go for a masters in engineering abroad and that is a mistake that has hunts me till date. My classmates whose parents had vision pushed them to go and acquire knowledge first and come back later for money . Some went as far as getting Phd's in various fields of engineering. To me then, it looked like they were foolish but today i feel i am at the silly one. Some got jobs excellent jobs in global corporations round the world. Some of them earn crazy salaries today . They are both rich and fulfilled and leading in their various fields of endeavor. Have you tried looking for a top class job where you realize that your competitors for the same job have attended various conferences, training globally and you have one Nigeria Certificate in your bag hoping to get the job. I realized that one mistake people can make is limiting your world view to Nigeria. It is one of the worst thing that can happen to any young man. Look at most people in Nigerian government you will see that the key ones are those who have western worldview and education. For you to see global opportunities you must immerse yourself in a global competitive environment and get yourself to compete with the best. Nigeria has a way of stagnating one if you are not careful. Have you lost your Job in Nigeria and tried getting one again . It is very difficult because the opportunities are very limited.

I respect the way you analysed the matter and make it inform of education and for my believe is the reason why we are here . Honestly, you are correct. There are much advantages studying abroad but having intention to live there entirely is out of my intention except otherwise.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by gogochocolate: 4:51pm On Jan 15, 2015
Most people here want to obtain Australian Citizenship because it gives them lots of leverage in life. You have the best healthcare and can travel freely anywhere in the world without visa . Government Pension would be paid as at when due and you will not have to depend on your children for stipends at your old age. You can work for a longer period than in Nigeria as long as you have the strength. Why do you think civil servants here keep falsifying their ages ? it is because they feel they are still productive but the system wants to push them out at all cost to make space for others. I understand the point you raised about migration it is not easy at first but as long as you have all the papers and support form the government you will eventually stabilize. I don't need to remind you that we are sitting on a time bomb in Nigeria with respect to our economy with the falling price of oil. Have you ever wondered what will happen if the scenario continues like this till June. Government in Nigeria would barely have money to pay salaries and the it would affect adversely affect the economy greatly. Already Capital vote in the present budget has dropped to 640 billion naira including sure p funds. What this means is that they would be hardly any new projects this year. The multiplier effect of that, is that civil contractors, business men that depend on the government for survival are on their own. Oil is a non renewable resource and i have not seen any Government in Nigeria make serious effort at diversifying the economy. Diversification takes time and cost money and it is not easy in our case we have to do this in a short while. I am afraid but the truth is that the future looks bleak for the Nigerian child unless something is done drastically to reverse the trend. The era of free government money is gone in Nigeria.

Thank you for that explanation. All you said is right. Nigerians were created by God and he will not let them down. we have been in a situation more dangerous than now during military regime and we all survived it and many people keep on keeping on.

lemi tell you my story
young engineering grad who could not find an engineering gig, since I was good with number, I took this finance analyst role when it came up and you know what I have learnt?
Me, my colleagues, we are all petrified of loosing this job! After 8years, you want more! More in earnings, more in responsibilities, more in life experiences, just more! But you can hardly get that here! Everyone says how lucky you are to even have the one you do.
So this colleague of mine, real smart dude thinks his certificates will sell him in Nigeria, he starts to antagonise the boss, thinks with his wealth of experience and masters degree, another job was just waiting to be had. Anyways, boss engineers his sack. Two/three years ago. No job. Wife's left him, landlord's left him, car's left him, where are the vacancies man!
Like you said man, loosing your job on these shores is a nightmare situation. Ofcos you can lose a job anywhere in the world, but the ability to find something that gives you something akin to the dignity you had before, it could be a pipe dream here man!

So I leave! Now! On my own terms!
If Nigeria gets better, all of us leaving now will return! And take your jobs from you! Cos we shall be better qualified, and better exposed! If it doesn't, well screw all of you that stayed men!
Australia isn't our home land, if somewhere else is better tomorrow, that is where we will go, that is what it means to have a worldview.
This world is your home, go where its happening and you will be appreciated.

this is exactly why we will fail as a country.
So satan created Afghanistan and Syria?
Olumbaolumba created Yemen, Somalia and the likes?
Which god are you refering to by the way? The Nigerian one of bokoharam that they are so willing to slaughter for? Or the one of that pastor in blings who used your money to acquire a private jet so he could use it to ferry your money to South Africa?
Nigerians are sooo gullible and easily deceived.
In my time in the industry, I have seen all comers try to launder money, men of the cloth, men of the turban and men in suits and ties, there are no saints here, only sinners! Lucky for you that you are clueless about it, I am not, its the life I have lead for 8years now.
Gogochocolate, I would love to tell you how on point you are, only you have no idea how deeply it goes, the rot in our system!
Anyways, for does who would put their trust in the religious sanctity of their leaders, I can only wish you guys goodluck in febuhari!(hehehehe, yeah, I couldn't resist that), but I would sooner live under a gay president who professes no faith than stay in this den of suffering and smiling sheep Nigeria is minting on a daily basis!
There is a God, and I believe in him fiercely! But I also believe he left Nigeria a while ago and now resides in Australia, Canada, America, UAE and the likes. Their quality of life attests to the fact God is there, ours attests to the fact that.... I won't even bother to finish that statement for you man

Well spoken. Lemme add a little just to buttress my view. My elder bro left his bank job because he knkew there wasnt a future. He was lucky to leave before the banking sunami hit us. He went abroad did his masters in chem engr. I told him not to come back he still came. After doing plenty interviews shell chevron slumberger bla bla bla he landed a gig as an engr for 50k salary. He babe left him when she got tired of hearing it will be well. Thank God at least now he has a gig he makes 750k a month. His friend that was lucky to land a oil& gas gig with Haliburton as a technician. Imagine the insult to his masters in Eng. My younger brother came back a year ago from d us. Went to study airaircraft maintenance technology in florida he is still roasting. Working for free right now so he can gather experience and port eventually, meanwhile his friend who didn't come back is clocking 14months work experience. He had the opportunity to stay back like his friend but wanted to come home. Yes labour market is tough bla bla but trust me I don't have to know anybody to get a good gig abroad. The system works. U can get fullfilment to a certain respect. You might not hit one awoaf contract but you will have your human dignity intact. Mid life crises is less heartless abroad. U can re-engineer urslf and move on with life. Inflation isn't as bad. With sensible planning u can achieve alot. Not everybody is that lucky in niaja. There simply insnt enough space and the competition is becoming more viscious. I rather try and fail out there than languish here. For me going to oz is a carefully planned move. Not like am desperate but I need fresh air. Am tired of the Nigerian jungle.

I was watching CNN a few hours ago. A Nigerian soldierwas interviewed, and asked why they were loosing the war against BH. He responded saying, apart from the fact that he had to buy his own kit himself, their ammunition is nothing to write home about. And when asked why they didn't have sophisticated weapons like BH, he said although money is being allocated for it, but corruption has eaten deep.

Another soldier was told to go treat himself after his platoon was attacked by BH.

And that is the country someone tells me to let my kids grow up in....so they can marry the 'Nigerian husbands and wives'.....I smh!

I wonder what Nigeria would be like by the time my kids are 21.....

Evening house, I'm very new on this thread.
I'm interested in studying in Australia, pls wat are the requirements I need to submit for the visa application? And also pls hw long does the study application take?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Caucasoid: 9:39pm On Jan 15, 2015
I've gotta make a post on this thread now abeg!!! Ahaaaaan, the level of ignorance displayed by that KonkoBelow dude is gross. Come on man! TF u talking about "ur kids marrying Nigeria Husbands blah blah blah" Please don't add 24hrs to ur life with this sorta thought process still instilled in you, life is too short to maintain dis level of below-par cum sub-par reasoning frequency combined with age long saying of perishing retirees across Nigeria that goes thus "E go better".
Ask those retirees what they would do differently if they could be 27 again... Trust me, they would opt for "BETTER LIFE, NOT BETTER PAY".

That said, I would like to thank Her Royal BossLadyMo... For the direction and approach she proffers solutions on this thread Haba, madam u have tried, please keep doing it, I truly do appreciate your works on this thread ma'am. We should be able to share banters here too and not get too sensitive on issues here just like Equilibrum raised. Sharing a joke or two when the heat on the thread is intense wouldn't cost us a strand of our hair so let's lighten up! , Also, I would like to thank others who have contributed to this thread in spreading knowledge through humanly acceptable manners without recourse to insults at the slightest provocation. No matter how stuupii.d a question is , Just answer the person in a dignifying manner at least once.

I would once again eulogize BossLadyMo... She's married and she is acting like a mum on this thread. Some lady called Jennykadry or something was earlier active on this thread and she quit after dissing and quarreling with every finger with access to keyboard on this thread! Naaah, her attitude is something I wouldn't call Childish but Teenish! Once ur married and u r a mother, people shouldn't question ur status due to how you speak to others, ur status would show. Don't think u know it all, the internet has simplified every gaddamn thing in this universe so why would u want ur fellow being to worship u for something Google can offer u better knowledge filled version? She has quit the thread, it didn't die, other resourceful persons kept it going. May God reward all ur efforts.

Now back to those or that person who advocates for "stay back in Nigeria if u have millions in ur account". Just a quick question for u, do u know how much the dollar exchanges for the Naira now? How much was it in the beginning of 2014? Do the Maths and tell me where we r headed as a nation, PS- the price of crude oil would never hit the $100 mark anytime soon, ur government presented her budget with a $65 benchmark, Crude currently trades for $57 which indicates, there would be no such thing as Excess Crude Account. Do u know that beneath all these jargons stated here, it translates to renewed austerity measures on the general populace which the government got no intentions of cushioning such adverse effect of the economy through an alternative policy like its bn done in saner climes. Please I can't break it down enough, I would break down if I try to analyse everything just like I got it in my head now coz it's FULL!

I pray I make it to Oz by May. Queensland it is. Gold Coast I already moved in in spirit. Hopefully an apartment at surfers paradise when the bucks roll in with time by the grace of God. I must confess to you all, my ambitious drive towards life is dying already! I can't understand how one can function properly in the midst of these clowns masquerading as Politicians. It's beyond the money for me honestly. I need a functional society. Not a society I would organize a thanksgiving after buying a Tokunbo EOD and calling everyone to come and celebrate with me. That is mediocrity at its peak. To be honest to u all, I can't wait yo leave! Some ppl would be like why travel when you earn so much. I just laff. I earn N274,500/month here in Lagos at a construction firm, I am an Architect. That money to some people- myopic people tho, it's a a whoooooole lotta money. I wanna tell u that for u to live a minimal acceptable standard befitting of a human, that money is Shh.it to say the least. Do u know how much I spend on diesel? I can't stay without light please, I wasn't the one who betrayed Jesus. Do u know how much I spend on rent The money spent on all these in Oz is definitely higher but for the type of work and my profession, my income would conveniently sustain that and still afford me to provide quality education, quality lifestyle for my kids in future.

So much more I'd love to say but please, Mr. West no more today! cheesy

Cos I did not oh, only tried to point out to him the error in his reasoning. I would never take the time to insult anyone here, I might argue or antagonise you, but I wouldn't insult anyone. Its the same thing I had a falling out with jenny over, but thats from another era.
its really boggles the mind when you hear people talk like that is all. Same person says I have no job, but God will watch over and protect Nigeria/Nigerians, HELLO!!! You still have no job! And it wasn't God you elected president/governor!
Anyways, its not so much an insult to the koboko guy as a wake up call to myself, to do something different in a different part of the world. And if he would like to stay here so bokoharam fighters can someday marry his daughter, who is to stop him

LoooL. Never! U never yabbed the man naaah! If at all anything looked like yab, it should be the way I called him out. Haha. I was only trying to tell d other man justwise to lighten up n all when u mentioned him coz one or two bants here n there hurts no one. As for Jenny, she should go! I don't tolerate arrogance! Her level of supposed exposure should distinguish her from the crowd. Even me wey I dey think say I know one thing, from this thread u know how many things I learn from all of una? Abeg leave story! We deserve a better life to be honest! Do u know what it means to LIVE? I am tired of purposeless living waiting for pay checks at the end if every other month and continuing the cycle the next month, doing the same thing over and over again, same routine and all. I wanna SURF! Goldcoast it is!!! I wanna partake in global events, Go to australian open and all. So many things you won't think about in this part of the world coz of the system! *Cheers

Thanx mahn. Got my Masters in Architecture already. Considered Griffith initially buh they don't offer Masters in Project Management hence I opted for Bond University still within Goldcoast. Bond University run a trimester system hence I'd complete the program faster mahn, I'd get absolved into the professional environment as quick as possible too, No time! Haha, gon catch up with y'all at Queensland by the grace of God!

Naija is our motherland. Abeg no regret being born here Lol. Some people out there don't know and appreciate what they are enjoying. To them its normal and thats how it should be. Back to ur questions. Q1 Yea they do give 4 yrs work permit visa its called a 457 visa. U can get it if u have a job. Ur minimum salary should be @ about 55k aud I am not so sure. U get the visa after ur post work study expires and your employers are willing to sponsor you. Post work study lasts for 3 to 4 yrs generally.
Q2 go to teleperformance website. U will get details on what the visa costs to obtain. As per ur school fees and all that school website. As for health insuarnce please avoid alliance. Its cutlass. Use bupa instead. If u want to understand every read this thread from page 1 and take notes on where the info affects u. Trust me no agent can give u the info this thread has. Am sure they even come here for reference lol. If u need more clarrification we are always on here.

Cheers
