Consider it done grin

Just celebrate and make merry. Sleep and enjoy yourself. If you had told me earlier, I would have told you not to submit any entry at all. But e neva spoil sha, na only you we go give all the money. You are the champion! I hope you have a debit card so you can make instant withdrawal.

Oahray is 'jealousying' you already.

Damn! An immense superfluous redundancy!
Re: About Whitey's Flash Fiction Challenge *comment Thread* by Bhenehdikt(m): 11:17am On Jan 17, 2015
I was guilty with flaunting a rule which states that "all entries must have a title".I accepted my faults, cuz i entered 'my title' in the 'subject' of the mail instead of in the body of the mail itself.
I tried as much as i could to tweak my writing to fall within the theme of the competition and atleast 'for my mind' i TRIED.
Its my first competition on NL and if not for anything,i'm happy to be among the participants.I need the money,no doubts, but the experience i've gained and will still gain is way more than the money to me.
I dont write fictions, but then i mustn't be stagnant in learning.
For those of us with goats and those that are trying to get at the goats by whatever means possible; not forgetting those who think about the 'money only' and the advisers-in-chief together with the passers-by.
Please, biko make una take am easy.Only one person go win here.If the one who put up the challenge says it didnt meet up to the required standards, then i think 'we' as participants need to up our game next time in case of possible challenge in the future.
Express yourselves but do not go outta bounds,IT DOESNT END HERE!

Alright guys, here is the list of confirmed entries. A few of you didn't write your nairaland ID's, so I just put your names there, you'll have to notify whitemosquito of your ID's. You can do that here on this thread, simply write your name with your ID in front. Thanks.

To be honest i think the judges or judge did a bad job,i have gone through all the stories on d challenge thread and the comments on this thread and i must say i am disappointed. I doubt if the O.p really knows what a flashfiction really is,it is quite a dificult style. It seems lyk the stories that scaled through were picked randomly,or by the names they recognize and also most of the guys arguing with the O.p. For example some of the stories are wrought with mistakes and typo errors and usually in competitions that instantly disqualifies an entry. Secondly the things the Op complained abt seems to be lacking in her "scaled through" list. The O.P should also keep are emotions in check because judging from are responses to the guys attacking her here, she strikes me as an arrogant saucy lady(no offence just my opinion),and she let that affect her judging. You dont criticize entries to a competition,dt is a universal rule and it really hurt to see what you wrote,i wonder how i would have felt if i was one of the competitors. It could kill off any first time writers zeal, and worst of all it came from the organizer, its a shame really. Thirdly that competitive aura is missing,i dont know why, mayb cuz of the length of the screening period. All the same things like this are encouraged, nice initiative O.P,we all learn everyday. Wish luck to d contestants,i enjoyed y'all stories, regardless of who scales thru.

Ps: I did not compete, just a humble spectator who loves reading stories.

Just to correct the impression u have, with all humility, before the OP goes for your jugular. Nothing is ever perfect in life, only God.

Now, if u truly read tru as you said, you wud observe that the OP is in no way the judge of the competition. There are judges assigned with that responsibility in the spirit of fairness. What ever the judges say, it is final because these judges are credible to an extent.

Now, the competition is not yet over. There are still criteria that are used to judge these stories. For a story to pass the first stage means it met a certain criteria demanded. The next stage has its own criteria its demands. So if u noticed anything wrong, just relax, it is not over.

As for her character, mehn, everybody is unique in their own way. I guess it is the way you perceived her to be that made that impression on you. I doubt she acted in anyway u think demeaning just because she wanted. If you can't deal with her character, you can as well just don't cross her path.

As for the length of the competition, she is not paying the judges, so she has to consider them not to mount unnecessary pressure on them. Besides, they all have other work to attend to.

I hope, to some extent, I have cleared u on these issue. And hey, for future reference, you don't attack someone's image or personality and then cover it with the cloak of you being humble. It's like you saying, 'I am sorry but please, allow me to shoot you.' Who does that? Just be plain and shoot.

With all humility in my heart *winks*

I am not contesting their credibility, fyi having a story thread doesnt make you credible if dts your definition of credibility.I aired out my opinion and pointed out the same thing some other guys observed in thread, for example that zulu story although it is full of imageries and mindblowing descriptions but it broke every single rule,i kept searching for the connection to the new year, notwithstanding dt it ended tragically,i mean with the husband having hiv n all,d story doesnt just add up,n i wonder hw it scaled. dts just one example,no doubt some of the chosen stories are mindblowing too. The O.p goin for my jugular will do me no harm, maybe you are defending her cuz of vested interests, just my opinion tho.

Bros, chill.
Let I said earlier, it may not have what was required but it scaled tru based on some criteria. There are still other criteria that wud be used to judge evry story that scaled tru. So, my guy, just chill.

Now don't get this wrong, the OP IS NOT THE JUDGE!!!! If u are a literature faithful on NL, you shud come to knw the credibility of the judges that were chosen for this.

As for ur jugular, na me put that one ooo, so just calm down for Jesus.

As for leaping to her defence, I think it is amiable to do this, lest it get blown and others are impregnated with this bias impression. There is no vested interest in anywhere.

But wait ooo, if this will increase my chances, o boi, why not?
