You are a stiff necked fooooool maybe in mumugeria there are no laws but in most civilized countries there are. They dont want drugs in their country. Why is it difficult for most mumugerians to understand a simple instruction.
I think you totally misunderstood him.

The death penalty has always been a very touchy issue everywhere it is practiced.

Many countries strongly oppose it. The Dutch and Brazilians have pulled their ambassadors from Indonesia because of this.

He does not mean the offender should go free but perhaps live imprisonment.

Killing him over drugs is because the drugs he was going to peddle was going to kill several other lives, destroy destinies and wreck homes. Look around you and see what marijuana is already causing not to talk of hard drugs.
Their laws are harsh you might say but if they don't take drastic measures they may end up like America.
There is nothing wrong in smoking Marijuana because its not a drug but plant. however I think synthesis drugs like cocaine and crack is bad for consumption. I don't think its right to kill someone over smuggling drugs. The sentencing is just too harsh.

This is really sad. what's the point killing him over drugs? I feel really sorry for him and his family. Nigerians should stay away from south east Asia because those people don't play with their laws and they excute foreigners if you break their laws.

And what is the pony of breaking the law, not just any law, an express criminal law?

He saw it coming, he must have thought that he had one powerful ‘chi' like that

It is the law, which should be proportional. On one hand, it kills and ruin lives and on the other hand it isn't because the end users have the free will.

Anyways, it is the law and it is death penalty till t is amended

And cocaine synthesized from coca leaves is also a plant right? undecided . The resultant effect of this drug is hallucination. It makes you feel invisible, untouchable, a touch out of reality. I do not support the death penalty neither do I support someone that does something that can result to the death of others. Make money the right way. You feel pain at the beginning but the resultant effect is better. A lot of us had humble beginnings!

He was the courier of the drugs, trying to sell for profit that is the difference! No matter how much you flog the issue, they have a legal backing because it is the law! At least we cannot shout racism because a Brazilian and people from other nationalities were involved. No matter how sentimental we are, there are places were the law is still abided by, where things are not business as usual. With this, no one will want to go to Asia with drugs.

And from 1960 till date it is President Jonathan that stole all our treasury? Do your checks among the polity and find out all the embezzlers of our national treasury. What did Buhari forget at the seat he wants to go and correct now?

With this your deduction, all Nigerians should peddle drugs because our leaders have failed us right? Good deductive reasoning. 10/10!

EXECUTE 'EM ALL .I have no sympathy for drug dealers or pushers whatever nation they hail from.

These idiots silently kill thousands of people thru hard drugs with countless overdoses that we hardly hear of because the victims are "unknown little people" and yet we're mad at their execution? Wait till you lose a relative to drugs then we'll see.

The impact of Drugs are far dangerous, Drugs destroy a community and it causes war, go and look at Mexico, The Drug Cartel have taken over the country and let's talk about the lives drugs have destroyed you are only sentimental because he's Nigerian. that makes you biased. He did the crime he pays the time. after all before travelling to their country its written that you will be executed if found for drugs so he must have agreed to that. Drugs kill my dear.

Pointless...

Penalties are there to stop people from doing the crime. The penalty does not matter, the crime is where the problem is.

So that's the kind of penealty you think should be melted on a drug pedller?
Saying someone else's idea is pointless shows anything but maturity in you.
Don't you worry, someone shall say to you ,'pointless' when you have one of your loved ones in situations like this
Let's learn how to tolerate and love others.

correct! The punishment doesn't fit the crime.,Asia people are animals, that is why I can't even step into their embassy talk less of going there.(spit on the floor)me Asia. mtcheew.
they are not asking or begging you to come to their country. The bitter truth is they don't even want u in their country and what makes matters worse is you are even a nigerian and the whole world believes every nigerian has a criminal mind ,sadly enough many ppl are exhibiting it here. When idiagbon and buhari were executing people for armed robberies ,why didn't u complain? When buhari executed drug peddlers eg ojuolape and co ,why didn't anyone complain? Do u know the number of people that were executed by firing squad for drug offences and armed robbery during buhari time ?today u are all calling him the people general. But the truth is the law is the law. We nigerians always think we are smarter and above the law and we can always get past them anytime ,anywhere we like just like we do in nigeria but hell NO. Some countries won't bend or break that law for u. Why will someone in his right senses carry drugs to saudi ,where u know if caught you will be beheaded? But people won't think ,their greed always blinds them to the dangers involved in these tasks .

This is how far having irresponsible leaders can go in pushing people with weak resistance and lack of discipline on wants to any level. Still, hard work and determination pay. There are millions of people who are living in a more critical state (financially). Yet, they hold that crime is no noble option.

Rest in peace. May your child modestly achieve great feats in life.

Which leader asked him to do drugs. Can't you see a national of Holland amongst them. Crime is a personal decision same with the opposite, doing what is right. Not one is compelled to do either. He chose the wrong and his likes are what makes leaders and leadership afterall if he has suceeded he will surely have become a leader at some level in our environment.

It is really sad to read some of the nonsense i read here. It goes to show that even if you have means to get facts and knowledge at your fingertip, you will miss it if you have nothing between your ears to think straight.

Some facts :

1. The so-called civilized nation of America jails more people than even communist China. They also practice capital punishment through lethal dose of injection and electric chair. And if you think Nigeria is harsh, you can be jailed for life if you are a repeat offender in some states by their so called 3-strikes you are out. For example, you can face serious time in jail if you steal even a toy at a bookshop as long as you steal it 3 times. Now, why does this stop Nigerians from applying for American visas?

2. Whenever there is a diplomatic row between nations, it is common for the Ambassasirs to be recalled for "consultations". It does not mean that the embassies are shut. The relations are strained but mostly get back to normal after few months. The global world makes it impossible to ignore trading partners for too long. Countries always act outside the box. Business always comes before emotions!

3. EU countries are against capital punishment because they have a tiny population to govern. It is easier to control crime when you have 5 million people than 250 million people. The size of EU is the same as DR Congo with 28 countries ruling the population of 350.

4. Indosians unlike Nigerians no not venture overseas much. Only 10 million or so work mainly as maids or cheap labour in ASEAN countries or in the Middle East. Some work as seamen or as chefs in cruise lines. Majority of them prefer to live in their semi prosperous country. However, they have drug problems like many countries. They have tried and failed by jailing dealers. They don't have the resources to deal with the high numbers of drug dealers caught at their borders. There are numerous warnings before you see immigration that drug possession carries death penalty. Actually it's written on the arrival cards too. I have no sympathy whatsoever of drug dealers. The Nigerian executed could have worked legally like most Indonesians but he wanted to poison people and get rich fast. The laws were followed, he appealed all the way up and the President refused clamancy, rightly so.

4. The previous President, SYB, gave clemency to the cousin of the executed indonesian woman (3 relatives were caught together), after 7 months, she was caught in jail arranging drug shipment from India!!
President Clinton and others before him have also pardoned criminals who raised funds for their elections or worked in their administrations. So, all Politicians use it wisely and unwisely for their own reasons. I am quite certain that the Australians caught with drugs will also be executed very soon. President Widodo is very clear strict when it comes to fighting drugs. He promised no clemency.

5. There are many Nigerians who come to do business and live in Indonesia. I urge them to live a clean life. There are fever and fewer countries which allow easier passage of Nigerian passport holders due to the reputation of the few criminals.Singapore, only 2 hours away from Jakarta, decided to demand visa after many drug dealers were caught there. There are many business opportunities in this 1 billion dollar economy,it doesn't have to be in illegal drugs.

Yeah I know but its my mudaphucking opinion and I have a right to air it. Not all countries execute drug peddlers and these set of Asian countries that don't even give room for appeal. I remember the case of a naive young lad- Tochi, an aspiring 19 year old footballer. He was given some items by his talent scout to convey by via ferry. Unknown to him, the package contained drugs. He was caught and immediately sentenced to death and executed within weeks. Talent scout was no where to be found. A lot of local and foreign NGOs chipped in and sent numerous petitions but the government did not bend. He was hung in 2006. Assuming the government heeded the numerous appeals, he may have finished serving his jail time by now.

So, the punishment is not the problem. Rather, you are more concerned about them carrying out proper and thorough investigation?
