rationalmind:Don't 4gt that we have tons of xtians who are ready to vote for him (buhari) , infact my roomate who his a staunch xtian is a big fan of buhari..he is not blinded by religious bigotry just like me. Then what gave you the impression that they (those muslims you have met) are supporting him (buhari) because of his religion?' |

Rilwayne001:Do you want proof that Muslims are biased? Okay. Take for instance, the death of Yakowa which was widely celebrated in the streets of Northern Kaduna by Muslim youths because he was a Christian. When Yaradua died, the Christians mourned alongside their Muslim counterparts. Muslims, therefore, are so biased. |

Safari29:Let me take you back a bit. Remember that northern governors visiting Rivers State were stoned in Port Harcourt by PDP/Wike supporters. Remember that Asari turbaned a dog and called it Buhari. Same Asari called northerners leeches and ridiculed them and threatened the unity of this country if Jonathan doesn't get re-elected. Same as Edwin Clark. No one called them to order. Oritsejafor has unfettered access to the Presidency. All these conferred on Jonathan administration the status of a regional Christian government. Now what do you expect? You can't harass someone into voting for you |

Then you haven't interacted with a lot of them. If you have, you'll know we have some that know Jonathan has more to offer; and I'm not talking of politicians, but regular people. |

rationalmind:Your premise is false, that 4 muslims on nl are pro buhari does not mean no muslim wouldnt vote jonathan. But I cannot in good conscience support a man who poor leadership has causr the country so many lives, so much misery, so much stealing is not corruption so much that over $30B remains missing,so let us face the REASONS we won't vote Jonathan not my RELIGION. Finally I have NEVER supported any pdp presidential candidate including Yardua. And you once again remind all Nigerians why Jonathan must be sent home, promoting division, him and his supporters when ever they speak seem to sow division in the hearts of all nigerians. This has made fighting our enemies a herculean task. We christians should stand for justice not fanaticsm, not corruption not any evil. |

kITATITA:You're so biased. How does any of these serve as a good reason why Muslims shouldn't support Jonathan? Northerners also threatened to make Nigeria ungovernable. Has Jonathan ever treated Christians preferentially? He built Almajiri schools for you and most of his projects are situated in the core north. |

I opened a thread listing nairalanders who jubulated over the Kano mosque bombing, guess war all those who jubilated are pro Jonathan supporters, Mr. Rationalmind if u were a muslim would u support Jonathan? His supporters don't sell him as a leader of all. https://www.nairaland.com/2023361/disgusting-some-nairalanders-jubilate-over |

Frankenstein:You are correct if you say northerners also threatened GEJ. But did you notice how GMB distanced himself from those making the threat. But on the other hand, the Presidency appears to have adopted the position of Asari et al. I didn't say Muslims shouldn't vote for GEJ. I want his camp to appeal to Muslim and northern voters. The message is lost. He can now visit north east. He can now visit emir Sanusi. He can now visit Yar' Adua's mum after his wife fought a bitter war with the man's widow over a parcel of land. His message is not coming out fine. |

| Re: I Have Never Seen A Muslim Who Supports Jonathans Re-election. by Frankenstein: 11:47am On Jan 24, 2015 |
kITATITA:Asari is not part of the presidency. GEJ is appealing to Muslims through his ongoing campaign. No special appeal is needed. |
| Re: I Have Never Seen A Muslim Who Supports Jonathans Re-election. by vedaxcool(m): 11:50am On Jan 24, 2015 |
rationalmind:But have u asked me why I would rather support GMB than GEJ? Muslims are allowed to vote for non muslims, as long as they the individual would guarantee justice. We place premium on competence, character and justice. Unfortunately Jonathan has neither of 3 to effectively lead this country. You are sorely mistaken, Buhari didn't win sokoto in 2011 despite its muslims population, I wonder why? Maybe you have another islam perspective u want to share. Again Tinubu didn't support any muslim candidate contesting for APC ticket in Lagos, why? Instead a christian emerged, why? Let's not continue perpetuating the falsehood about muslims and christians in Nigeria, afterall a good leader remains a good leader irrespective of his religion! |

In effect, these are most of Jonathan's projects in five years? You don't even know how to defend him well. Even if these were "most of his projects" and the people in these areas should vote for him based on this, what reason would you produce to citizens based in other areas to vote for Jona? |

OK. So the certificate mud sliding isn't working. Hence its time to go back to promoting religious discord among the people. The truth is most people don't give a bleep about Buhari being a muslim. We know he is not perfect (just like none of us is) but we are sure he cannot possibly be worse than this failure of a government headed by one The only serious yet funny accusation against Buhari when he was HOS is the fact the he was too tough on corruption. I'll that is a BIG PLUS for him in Nigeria of today if he can repeat that toughness. It is not about religion but about sincerity of purpose. Most christians have admitted that GEJ is not christlike. |

rationalmind:Did u ask this same question in 2011 when almost all Muslims voted for Jonathan. Don't try to cause divide among religions. Politics isn't supposed to be played this way. |
| Re: I Have Never Seen A Muslim Who Supports Jonathans Re-election. by Nobody: 12:14pm On Jan 24, 2015 |
rationalmind:Support for Buhari is not based on religion for me.. Perhaps it is based on the president's failures and marginalization of certain groups/ In the North, most northern christians are also voting Buhari.. Recently, i spoke to a christian man from Adamawa and he was very bitter with Jonathan. He said mentioning GEJ in Adamawa can earn you a slap. He was in Mubi when BH attacked and fled. GEJ won Adamawa in 2011. It is unfair of you to suggest that muslims consider voting 'non muslim' haram... Did you check the 2011 results in the North for GEJ? Jonathan won Kwara, a mostly muslim state, He got 400,00 votes in Jigawa, Buhari got 600,000.. No way, he would have gotten that number without significant muslim support Sokoto, GEJ got 300,000 votes Katsina, 400,000 votes Gombe 300,000 votes Now contrast that with the votes obtained by Buhari in the South East: Abia-3,000 Anambra- 4,000 Ebonyi- 1,000 Enugu - 3,000 Imo- 7,000 It is clear that many Northern muslims fully supported GEJ in 2011, The question, you should be asking is what changed?? Perhaps they feel GEJ has failed them... |
