The guy did what he had in mind, not what we asked him to do...he didn't follow the specified guidelines!
jasper7:
Just went to check on the job being done by my Labour hands a few minutes ago. it is a disaster!! the beds look like snake tracks, thin, narrow and far for being straight. what happened to following the pegging and model that was given to them

I have no option than to relieve them of their duties, because they are grossly incompetent.

the problem with thin, narrow and curved beds is staking. if the beds are not straight or slightly bent, staking will be a problem. if the the beds are too thin and narrow, I can't plant at both ends, because I have to give a 50cm spacing between each seed.

Now we are back to square one, I have to start searching for new labour.

coco peat is a soil substitute. made out of coconut husks. very high in nutrients. but also expensive, so we use majorly for nursery preparation. not compulsory tho

That cheap?? And you guys were going to pay manual labour 2k per day when they can't even work an Acre in a day!!

Mechanization will solve majority of our agriculture problems.

I attended and Agro Machinery event in Italy last November and to my amazement these machinery are not too expensive.

I wish a group of people can just pull funds together to fix this machinery draught!!

21st of January, we head to Ibadan from Ago Amodu to procure materials necessary to kickstart our project. We were later met with nikashow and his friend Aqua Smith in Ibadan then we headed straight to Ogunkpa Market in Dugbe area. Thanks to Aqua Smith, we were able to get most of the things we wanted from whell barrows, cutlass, pumping machine at factory prices directly at the warehouse. Indeed nikashow sacrificed his time, energy and his fuel to take us around and then we eventually lodged into a hotel, while we waited for the technical person who was bringing in our mulching film and other things. As I lay on the bed, I heard jasper7 making a call: Samantha or Somadina...I and nikashow was confused, where will the technical guy be now(since he is new in Ibadan). Then both jasper7 and nikashow left while I waited, impatient me...had to call minutes later to be sure they are fine. About an hour later, they all came in looking tired. I didn't know that the mulching film was that much and heavy too...until the next day!

Thursday- 22nd January, we had to wait for the Market environmental which stops at 10:00am before we head to the market. Now, we had to head to the market, oh...we also had to pick the mulching film from Peace Park before the security man on duty left his post(as it was left in the park the previous night). Then nikashow arrived and we waited for jasper7 and the technical guy who stepped out to get something minutes ago. When they arrived, we got information that prof is here(prof is the driver who will take us round). After preparing, we all stepped out while I checked out of the hotel. Now, with the Prof around, nikashow had to continue with his program for the day while we headed to Sango with Prof to make arrangement for a bus that will convey us all to Ago Amodu. As I stepped into the park, I met this driver who taught I was a novice, as I told him I was heading to Ago Amodu, he quickly snapped: You can't get a direct bus, just take one going to Saki...without looking at his face or uttering a word, I said in my mind: Baba, you can lie for Africa! Walking further I saw this smart young man who was willing to take us doing to Ago Amodu at a reasonable price and we concluded. Went back to my team to inform them of the development as we are already running a race against time, it was already past 11am and the security guy in Peace park would have waited and gone home. We agreed that Prof meets I and the driver at a filling station in front(as loading us at the garage will cause problem). As I and the driver arrived the meeting point and waited for Prof to bring jasper7 and co, who was later joined by phollar. We all had a brief meeting after which we all headed to Peace Park. When it was time to load the mulching film into the Ago Amodu bound bus, there and then I discovered that the muching film were heavy...very heavy, chei!
We waited for Aqua Smith who will take us to the market and we left with Prof as soon as he arrived. Got all what we had bought previously into the car while we went to source for other things in the market. It was already getting late and we were now on traffic route...thanks to Prof's expertise, we got to Peace park finally around 6pm and loaded the last sets of materials into our bus and we finally headed to Ago Amodu around past 6Pm and arrived around 10pm to our silent and natural abode! #BlessJah for journey mercies.
