before, i have been using aliexpress to purchase goods. i later discover some thread on Nairaland teaching alibaba importation business, one is title "do it yours alibaba version". they educate and taught me alot of things, in short this people taught what schools can not teach me. by
my experience was a very sad one on alibaba. i notice goods were very cheap there. on the ads if a good is writen $10 and i apply for quotation, when they are sending quotation the will send me 93, 100, 150 dollars respectively. some we allow me to place a buying request before they increase the price. my last experience, was a chines lady, who told me to pay $93 for a phone, while on the site it was $2, nairalanders what do think is the cause? are you sure those their cheap price is real? please help me on this matter.

Are you sure its not the wholesale prices that they are tellin you to pay?
For example you may see a phone with a 2 $ price tag. But because it is wholesale, you may ve to buy at least 10. So they may tel you to pay 20 $
Just saying

Shopper owners will not show their real prices on the signboard. You want to get the price, you have to enter the shop.
Imagine this, you own a shop on alibaba, you have many products, will you state the real price for every item ?
In order to save time and work, they may give all items the same price on their frontpage.

Experienced guys need to give more info on this Alibaba thingy. Had exactly the same experience after viewing Alibaba as a better option to Aliexpress price wise. Most threads on Nairaland ckncerning Alibaba is only centred on importation of armbands and hair extensions. There are many more items that people are interested in importing aside these. I hope the knowledgeables amongst nairalanders will come to the rescue here.

One thing you guys should realise is that Alibaba is for wholesale purchases while Aliexpress is for retail purchases.

I only shop on Aliexpress and not Alibaba; so I can't give any useful information apart from the one I gave above.

Though I read on this forum of some guys buying just a single piece of item from Alibaba but I think they had to convince the seller to do it.
