What atheists don't understand is that their lies are getting old. The world is more rotten and more morally corrupt than it was in the past and no amount of acting 'Spartacus having sex in a table in front of a group of romans' to twist history will cover that.

Absolutely lovely article. The two most worrisome for me are these ones above. Years back, after watching Billy and Mandy, my elder sister turned to me and said, "Ishi, do you realise that Grim is the spirit of death"? It suddenly dawned on me that this cartoon is depicting death as something 'fun'. Death can be tamed and turned into your playmate, as 'Grim' The Grim Reaper is portrayed in the program.

The cartoon is dark humour anyway, but I find it very inappropriate for kids. I belong to the Voltron/G-Force generation, where cartoons were cartoons, not these horrid, demonic Japanese manga crap they're spewing these days. (Ironically Voltron is also a japanese cartoon)

What of Courage the Cowardly Dog?

I always thought the cartoons were funny,but deep down I always felt a bit uneasy about the dark themes and subject matter. And it's getting worse each year that passes. For Billy and Mandy...hm, that cartoon is down right demonic.

As for good now evil and vice versa...oh boy, tell me about it! I watched Dracula Untold last week and although the movie is very entertaining, it left me uneasy and puzzled. What is their purpose for this movie? Why are they romanticising evil?? Anyone can google Vlad the Impaler, one of the princes of Transylvania (who Bram Stoker based the character on) and see how absolutely evil and disgusting this fellow was. The movie painted Vlad in a more romantic light, and at the end you find yourself sympathising with Dracula. Gross.

What of Vampire Diaries and Twilight? Since when did it become 'cool' to be a blood sucking demon? How is it possible to be in a romantic relationship with the 'undead'?? There's no such thing as a 'good' vampire, period!! It's this kind of twisted analogy that is making today's generation lack the fear of God.

There's another movie which I can remember the name. I think Legion or something. Rebellion is praised and God is depicted as wicked deity who does not have the interest of man at heart. An angel rebels against God and Arch Angel Michael is portrayed as an evil warrior angel who will kill everything that stops him from killing a certain lady in the movie. At the end God rewards the rebellious angel by giving him back his angelic powers despite his rebellion.

If I recall, rebellion and pride is what got Lucifer kicked out God's presence.

It's now okay to be rebellious and disobedient, right?

All throughout the movie my spirit was disturbed as I watched, and immediately it ended I deleted it from my list forever. These days I'm always afraid of watching foreign music videos because one can never be sure of what one is watching, not with all these demonic symbols they keep flashing at us. Nigerian music videos are not better, because although we don't have to deal with demonic symbology, lyrics and contents is ZERO. Trash. They're dumbing us down.

What is happening here is man is being sub-consciously programmed to be receptive to the changing ideals of immorality, rebellion and wickedness, and they're doing quite a fine job of it with all these brain washing programmes we're exposed to.

I'm not a bible quoting christian, have never been good at it, but I'm sure my friends here can supply me with the scripture that says 'in the end times people will be lovers of themselves and not of God, selfish etc etc.'
Someone said the best trick the devil ever pulled was to convince man that he doesn't exist. He has done a pretty good job of that so much so that when things are happening in favour of evil around us we barely even notice it anymore.

Its easy to recognise wars and murders, rapes and outright violence. Its easy to recognise corruption on a large scale and the downfall of great leaders and economies. The thing that is more dangerous however is the subtle ways we are being 'preached to' into accepting evil and thinking there is nothing wrong with it. I have outlined below a set of things that have slowly and surreptitiously been placed into our daily lives that we don't even realise we are being brainwashed into believing such things are normal when they shouldn't be. By the time they are done when the mark of the beast is introduced and the antichrist announces himself, even christians will accept him whole heartedly.


1. The breaking of the church into denominations. Some people think this was good so as to make the gospel spread farther. I say a house divided on itself cannot stand.

2. Materialism in the church. Constant seeking of miracles instead of salvation, praying for a brand new car this year instead of purity of spirit, praying for your enemies to die instead of praying for them to find salvation. Tithing to make your pastors wealthy instead of tithing to help the people of God that are needy. Seeking positions in church for worldly recognition instead of looking for people who have a genuine thirst for the conversion and reaping of souls for the harvest.

3. The sexual revolution. Sex is suddenly nothing to be 'ashamed of'. Sex was never meant to be something to be ashamed of, but it wasn't meant to be public either. Sex is designed to be a private affair. The private parts are hidden by pubic hair and clothing because they are private. Now the more sexually perverse a person is the more he/she is considered to be exhibiting his/her 'freedom' . Pornography is everywhere, in our books, magazines, the internet, movies, even our kids are being corrupted with lewd images in their 'innocent' cartoons. Have you ever wondered why p0rn is so easily available? Its virtually free to browse and download millions of megabytes of porn movies now, not even clips. So much so that many of us cannot even recognise indecent behaviour when we see it in real life.

4. Cartoons corrupting our kids. This might sound laughable to you but keep an open mind for a moment. Look at the cartoons our children are being shown. Cartoons like 'adventure time' for example. Have you ever watched it? Of course not, you say; its for kids. I advice you to take ten minutes of your time to watch one episode and your will realise it is downright demonic. How about 'the adventures of bill and mandy'? Innocent right? Have you seen the recent episodes? In an episode of SpongeBob squarepants worms are seen coming out of his eyes! What's funny about that?


5. Evil is now good while good is evil.
There are new cartoons now that paint heroes in a bad light. Jack and the beanstalk---jack is now the thief while th giant was a friendly giant. Cinderella was actually full of pride and the evil stepmother was simply 'misunderstood'. Here's one that will touch you Disney watchers...remember frozen? That wonderfully inspirational movie that got every girl crying and chanting for female empowerment? The original story os from 'The snow queen'. And Elsa was no 'misunderstood' ice princess. She was a villain, a queen who would freeze little boys hearts and remove all love from them. 'Hans' represents the boy whose heart was frozen but now suddenly in this movie he is the scheming bad prince. Hmn.

There's a movie where angels are depicted as evil overlords and humans are supposed to rise up against them. Hmnn.

Same example can be seen in maleficient, Dracula untold etc etc. They are making it look like evil must have had a good reason for becoming evil. They are making a case subliminally and people don't even know it.


6. Identification numbers. Yeah, if we really need them why do they keep changing them? We have social security number, credit card numbers, bank account numbers; and now suddenly the idea that the numbers are too many is beginning to spring up. Why not one universal number for banks e.g BVN number? Have you done yours? Why not a number that will identify you uniquely as an individual and will help you transact business, receive medical care on emergency, help you get a job...it sounds reasonable right? I mean, its not as of some illiterate shepherds from 2000 years ago wrote a fairytale book predicting this exact same thing happening as a sign of the end times...any of these beginning to sound familiar?

When the end comes most of us won't know it because we would be too used to it. For those few who notice the changing times and recognise it for what it really means, there is a question for you: Will You Be Ready?

Yes and they will be talking like that for thousands more years to come. The Bible is Gods message to us and the uneducated are fond of picking out verses IN ISOLATION.

Do remember that many books were omitted because the early Church did not like (or understand) their messages. Two Church Councils decided on a different set of books (Canon). What if they made a mistake? Both cannot be correct so one of them did in fact err!

Also what about Mark Ch16 Verses 9-20. These verses DO NOT APPEAR in the original manuscripts (this is marked up in many Bible translations but is easily verifiable as the early writings are still preserved) They are a product of the translators penchant to give a sort of summary after the main writing ( a Hebrew literary trait).

So please look at the message as a coherent whole and do not be swayed by these 'literalists' with their poor and pedantic misinterpretations. Use prayer and your God given common sense. Also God gave us a conscience so we know if we are doing wrong (don't confuse sin with transgression of social norms) so judge the TV programmes for yourself. Is watching TV a sin?

About the omitted books of the bible, I avoid this section alot but I remember I had come across it before. can you shed more light on that? Add links if you can?

Do you know how many times I've imagined what it would be like if God didn't send satan away from heaven as the scriptures depict.
How many times I've imagined what it would be like if Angels and humans were of the same plane and communicated/interact like beings of the same species.

Anything to make money for these people. That's all it is to them. Their story lines are exhausted as no one wants to keep watching the same Cinderella over and over again. Hence the tweaks to basic folklore to produce something that counts as creative to them.

I can agree that many cartoons and shows these days are not fit for kids but pls my people I'm hard pressed to believe that there's a huge conspiracy going on somewhere with the aim of achieving Armageddon (or whatever this alarmist thread is taking about)

It is only natural for knowledge to increase over time and people become less ignorant. In 100years from now, the iphone6 will be so outdated that people will be too ashamed to mention it as state of the art.

The "prophesy" as you put is just to keep you in check. The same "prophets" have skinnier skeletons in their cupboards.

Let me tell u what u dont know, then it was not natural for them to understand enough that knowledge would increase cos they have so limited a knowledge as at the tiime of the prophecy. So u seeing it now that is natural for knowledge to increase is cos u have enough info concerning that regards. knowlede increasing is not what is known to all then so this is a valid prophecy.

Also look at the 666 marks which is also coming to pass (in process and would eventually end up on the head or hand), ow could anyone had accurately prdicted it? I know for sure when it finally come to pass u will still have something to say, it is either u believe or believe not to ur own detriment.

Nothing is sacred anymore, today I watched a few minutes of the popular cartoon The Simpsons and to my utter shock,a character was beheaded violently, then another scene showed a caricature of God serving the devil coffee whilst answering sir and the devil stood with his supposedly sexy babe. Now this is blasphemy and demonic but Christian parents must understand we are in perilous times,monitor what your kids view and listen to.

WOW! A MASSIVE subject. You could research this for YEARS. (And it is fascinating!)

So I will mention a few points only not to necessarily agree or even disagree with them but as very interesting points.

The Bible is a COLLECTION of books. The chosen books are called the CANON of SCRIPTURE - CANON meaning Standard or Norm.
The original manuscripts were written in Aramaic and Hebrew and (primarily for the New Testament) Greek. These have been translated into the contemporary language of many different times and locations to reflect the fact that we speak different languages AND the fact that language and words change meanings over the years. Eg The King James Version was almost certainly the best translation for the English speaking world in the 1600's. It is now much more difficult to read without misunderstanding and there are much more relevant and recent translations available. (PERSONALLY I prefer the NIV although the ASV and ESV have much to recommend them).

There was MUCH more controversy over the New Testament than over the Old Testament for reasons that would complicate matters even further!
There was more controversy over what was included than over what was excluded.
2 Peter, Jude, John 1,2,3, Hebrews and Revelation caused considerable soul searching.

Over 2000 manuscripts were considered for the New Testament - obviously most of these failed the various criteria for acceptance!
(Many [most?] of these were easily dismissed and heretical from second century Gnostics)

Marcion introduced a Canon in the first century with ONLY 11 books! (This guy omitted the entire Old Testament with the argument that the Old Testament God was nasty and angry!!!)

Other Canons were proposed by Athanastius, Origen and Irenaeus. Mostly these differed by what they excluded, Irenaeus took exception to Hebrews, James, John 2 & 3 (but NOT 1) and Jude.

Today there are two primary Canon

The Catholic from the Council of Trent (1545-1563)
The 'Protestant' (for want of a better term) from the Council of Carthage (397)

These differ mainly by the Catholic acceptance of the Apocrypha books from the intertestamental period.
Most 'Protestant' groups regard the Apocrypha as NOT divinely inspired BUT enlightened i.e. Useful reading and generally correct but not inspired by God.

As an interesting sub point Martin Luther originally did not accept the Book of James but later changed his mind!

To decide if a book was divinely inspired and should therefore be accepted the following criteria were applied:
1) Was the author an apostle or have a close connection with an apostle?
2) Is the book being accepted by the body of Christ at large?
3) Did the book contain consistency of doctrine and orthodox teaching?
4) Did the book bear evidence of high moral and spiritual values that would reflect a work of the Holy Spirit?

From a purely Personal point of view number two is the one I find most difficulty with but that's just me!
