I don't think so. Wilson is still last choice for center forward positions, we all know he's not ready to be a starter as evidenced in his anonymity in games he started.

All the 'main' characters from the last Fergie era are all but gone - Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs, Van Der Sar etc - Rooney is just about the only one remaining; if we want to be honest to ourselves, this may be a huge pointer as to where UTD's post SAF problems lie!

Rooney has stabilized our play in the middle of the park. This is why I laugh when some guys ask what did Rooney do? We were vulnerable with Blind and Carrick supported with Fellaini or Herrera. Herrera and Blind were in the middle of the park when we lost every contest against Leicester in that region.

The problem is that many people can not watch football in same way some gurus like us with microscopic view can see a match comprehensively.

When were you told this?

Rooney has always been a regular for club and country in his career. Captains can be dethrone. Fletcher was an assistant captain, but he got dethroned and redethroned.

Rooney is keeping the DNA going, hence we fall flat into pre-SAF era. We need a player who can help us to play slowly, ruggedly, speedily and counterly (as we did against Arsenal) as occasion demands. The other guys with frozen brain can only play one way- attack, attack, attack and get hammered by Leicester or M.Dons.

Thats how they went all out to play too directly against Cambridge and almost conceded a late defeat.
