I was given a negative assessment for Metallurgist but was told my experience is more suitable for a Metallurgical and Materials Technician and i could apply for a reassessment. what should i do? I am thinking a Masters degree will be necessary but will having a PR(just in case i apply), reduce the fees and give me the Engineering status?

. Don't give up. Re-apply as a technician,i think that's the best option instead of going through the master's route!!

Just look at it as one of the little challenges people encounter on their way to bigger things. What assessing body and what occupation did you apply for. Also got a negative response from vetassess last year because I used my OND only for a Civil engineering technician assessment instead of using my B.Tech which I thought would be too huge for an occupation like that.

You would have given them all you have got. How is ur fws going? Their EE isn't friendly for now for me.

I heard my B.Sc could stand for my ACS' assessment, I am still waiting to back it up with my Ms to be sure of a positive result. I'm nominating systems analyst.

You will be given 1yr from the day you had your Health examination or police clearance, whichever come first, irrespective of how long it takes for your visa to be approved. Eg If you do your medicals today and your visa is approved 8months later, you will have 4months to activate your visa or .....
And it is the same date for everyone on your application. However, you could do fly in, fly out (FIFO), after that you will have 5yrs from the date your visa was granted to relocate finally.

Bros, technician or technologist does not make any difference when you get you visa. Nobody cares whether you become a barrow pusher when your arrive, go with anyone that is on the SOL/CSOL.

Seek your assessment and visa first, all other things will be added onto you
