UBKtech:

You will be given 1yr from the day you had your Health examination or police clearance, whichever come first, irrespective of how long it takes for your visa to be approved. Eg If you do your medicals today and your visa is approved 8months later, you will have 4months to activate your visa or ..... tongue tongue
And it is the same date for everyone on your application. However, you could do fly in, fly out (FIFO), after that you will have 5yrs from the date your visa was granted to relocate finally.

Cheers!

UBKTECH thanks a million!! I read in previous posts that is why one should do his health and police clearance early abi, so he/she has enough preparation time. Am sorry am asking a lot of questions! When is the best time to file for the health and police clearance, is it immediately after getting a positive assessment or after submitting an EOI?

Whether you do your medical/pcc early or not will depend on whether or not you are ready to relocate. If you are ready and eager to relocate, you should do your medicals/pcc early to quicken your visa processing.

But if your are not ready to move now, you should wait until you are told to do. You can also buy more time by not applying for visa as soon as you are invited, you will usually get 60days from when you receive your invitation to apply.

Have him use the fixed deposit certificates issued by the Bank. If he doesn't have, he should ask his Account Officer for it, its a simple thing.

Also, you may include his account statement that shows history of the money being booked from the account.

If you are not going SVP, I advise that you include additional explanation about the funds on separate piece of paper addressed to the DIBP. If you are going SVP, explain to the school that funds will be liquidated as and when needed to meet your study expenses.

I hope this helps.

Hi guys. I studied civil engineering in Nigeria and going for masters in cape Town university. I want to know if I can apply for temporary visa as a civil engineering draftsperson through VETASSESS after I complete my studies or is it only graduates of Australian university that should apply?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by happytbaby: 2:25pm On Feb 10, 2015
@ Dearo,

I am sorry about this news.

Have you made payment to UC? I think you should call and draw their attention to the fact that you didn't fill the GTE form and ask them to reconsider.

Let me clarify something, SVP does not mean that one will not show evidence of funds and intention to leave Australia after study, its just that the school has the burden of investigating instead of the DIBP. If you are working through an agent, the Agent is supposed to do the checks on behalf of the school, so its either agent, school or DIBP......a party has to check.

About USQ. you could follow up your application with them, however, they are not very fast . Edith Cowan might be able to give you an admission quickly (u probably have all the documents ready since u applied to UC), but they are more expensive than USQ.

My brother applied to USQ online and had issues, you can find their email below. The GTE form they mentioned here had to be filled 3 times before we eventually got COE. We filled first time and there wasn't enough money (this was before he got admission), and we got a response similar to what CU sent you. We wrote to them that we had more funds and also that we had providence (pension) savings that we didnt include. They asked for evidence of fund and we sent. They gave him admission and asked us to fill the form again. When we asked them to change campuses, we still filled the form again.
[b]
Greetings from USQ International,

Thank you for your email about applying to study here at USQ.

Unfortunately we seem to be having some troubles with our online system at this time.

Can you please fill out the attached Application Form and then scan and email it back to us along with all of your supporting documents. That way we can load your application for you!

If you are applying to come on campus to Australia you will also need to fill out the attached GTE form.

Please note, in order to assess your eligibility to study the program/s that you have chosen we need you to provide certified copies of:

1. English language proficiency - If you are from a non- English speaking country, we require evidence of your English language proficiency http://www.usq.edu.au/international/apply/english

2. Senior High School (A levels / Year 12) Certificate and academic transcripts

3. All post-secondary study certificates and academic transcripts (if any)

Sorry for the inconvenience and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
Jasmin McAleer

FOR STUDENTS IN QUEENSLAND

All tertiary/post-secondary students in Queensland are required to have a Tertiary Transport Concession Card (TTCC) as proof of eligibility to purchase and travel on a concession go card or concession paper ticket.

Application forms can be downloaded below. You should allow up to 15 business days (or three weeks) for your application to be processed.

A concession entitles the passenger to 50% off fares on approved public transport throughout Queensland.

You must always have your TTCC and student identification card with you when you travel on a concession fare. The TTCC does not replace your go card or paper ticket.

The TTCC is valid for up to 12 months (or the length of the student's course, if less than 12 months).

Grace period to purchase and travel on tertiary concession fares

From 2 February 2015 up to and including 31 March 2015, tertiary students can purchase and travel on a concession go card or concession paper ticket using their valid student ID card as proof of concession entitlement.

Concession go cards purchased during this period will be set with an expiry date of 31 March 2015. Once you receive your TTCC card you will need to update the go card expiry date to the expiry date of your TTCC.

From 1 April 2015, all tertiary students will be required to carry their valid TTCC and student ID when purchasing and travelling on a tertiary concession fare.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Tertiary Transport Concession Card you must meet all of the following criteria:

reside in Queensland
be enrolled in and attending a course:
at a university, TAFE or other registered training organisation in Queensland (unless otherwise approved by the Department of Transport and Main Roads) that is registered with the department; and
that is approved by Centrelink for Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance purposes, or studying at a post-graduate level
be a full time student enrolled on an internal basis. To be considered full-time:
a university student must be enrolled full-time, as deemed by their university; or
students attending an institution other than a university must be enrolled in a course of study requiring attendance at classes (or unpaid practical requirements) for at least 12 hours per week for a minimum course duration of 12 weeks.
The following customers are not eligible for a TTCC:

interstate residents
part-time students
students undertaking all subjects externally, online or via correspondence
students enrolled in a course that is not 'approved' by Centrelink for Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance purposes.
Apply for a Tertiary Transport Concession Card

It's simple. All you need to do is:

Download the Tertiary Transport Concession Card application form.
Complete and sign Part A of the TTCC application form; and
Have Part B completed and authorised by your educational institution (administration and/or student services).
Email (PDF file not exceeding 8MB) or post the completed, authorised TTCC application form to:

tertiary@translink.com.au or

Tertiary Transport Concession Card
PO Box 1139
Eagle Farm QLD 4009
Note: Some educational institutions may submit the completed application on your behalf.

You should allow up to 15 business days (three weeks) for your application to be processed.

If you are eligible, your TTCC will be posted to you.

If you are deemed ineligible, you will also be advised by mail.

Please call 1800 336 678 or email tertiary@translink.com.au if more than 15 business days has passed since the department received your application and you have not received your card or advice.

Renew an expiring or expired Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC is due to expire (check the expiry date printed on the front of your TTCC) and you still meet the eligibility criteria, you should apply to renew your TTCC before it expires.

The renewal process is the same as outlined in Apply for a Tertiary Transport Card.

Replace a lost, stolen or damaged Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC has been lost, stolen or damaged, you must apply for a replacement card.

The renewal process is the same as outlined in Apply for a Tertiary Transport Card.

Replace a defective or faulty Tertiary Transport Concession Card

If your TTCC is defective or faulty phone the department's contracted provider on 1800 336 678 or email tertiary@translink.com.au.

Information for educational institutions

To authorise TTCC applications for students, educational institutions must be registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

To register, complete the educational institution registration form and forward to the address on the form.

The Queensland Government reserves the right to withdraw an institution's registration if it is found that the institution is not complying with the department's policy, including eligibility requirements as stated on the application form.

For information on registering contact our call centre on 13 12 30.

@Superbme,

I guess nobody is answering your question because nobody knows.

It is only people working for and with any of the universities can answer.

Why not take a Postgraduate Diploma degree instead because you can't even get to do Masters in Nigeria with the HND degree.

Hello,

Please clarify if what you need is a Masters degree in Engineering. An MBA is Master of Business Administration, that may be why no one has given you advice.
