How true are these claims? Unfortunately they didn't show any of the farmers "not on the Internet" that benefitted from the project, so ...
must you northerners comment on every topic, if u are not informed why not do findings,if u can't see what GEJ has done in the agricutural sector in Nigeria, then you must be an illitrate.

Truckpusher:
The North has a system that encourages feudalism and I don't see that going away with a wishful thinking. Has anyone bothered to ask themselves why the Northern oligarch despite holding sway in the corridors of power didn't do much that would project the image of the North and her people but instead they deliberately left their people uneducated in comparison to what Awolowo did for the Yorubas?
The truth is GEJ's almajiri school to me is a well orchestrated revolution against the evil plans of the northern oligarch , don't be surprised that the sentiment that Boko Haram enjoys today and their rise was as a result of the oppression meted out to the ordinary people who became fed up with the ' doctrine of 'do as I say but don't do what I do'
They have used Islam conveniently to keep their people down while maintaining a stranglehold on the resources of the South, created this atmosphere of 'we against them' for the poor uneducated northerner to buy which makes it difficult to effect any changes in the political landscape that would represent the true aspiration of the Nigerian people.
Jonathan wasn't a fool when he built those schools, if you noticed that the problem between you and your neighbor to coexist peacefully is a result of any internal crisis within that house I think it is paramount to help his children become better people by given them opportunities they've not had from their own parents and by doing that you'll save yourself from a lot of problems.
When I shout ' Jonathan or nothing ' it is not for any personal gain but I have seen that this man has foresight that most Nigerian youths that are bent on the get rich now or die trying would never have in their lifetime.
If anyone of us expects an utopian Nigerian society overnight then a lot would be required but again are we ready to pay and make sacrifices that comes with the burden of nation building ?
So on Point. That is why Gen Buhari couldnt build even Nursery school in his hometown or donate books or sponsor educational scholarships or endow university chairs, that will benefit the army of uneducated and misdirect youth shouting "Sai Buhari" but will send his Daughters to the finest schools in the UK and US. I just pity those young people queuing behind him.

Kudos to the minister and President GEJ.
Despite the success of the agric sector(rice), still baffles me why PDP is using Thailand rice for the STOMACH INFRASTRUCTURE?

Like he said,

You go ask people. Not on the Internet. Not on Facebook. You go ask them in Jigawa. You go Ask them in Katsina. Ask them in Sokoto. Ask them in Kano. Ask them in Bauchi, and ask them in Gombe. They'll tell you that there is no other person that has loved farmers more, supported farmers more, encouraged them more, and been there for them all the time.

Good work. More still have to be done apart from Agriculture. As good as crude oil, it is important we become less dependent on crude oil and so other resources should be considered because the more diversified our economy the better for us. One Nigeria!

They sing it in my ears that GOODLUCK is the man..

thinkdip:

mr man how much was a bag of rice before, I think 10,000 or so now u buy it for as less as 7000 or 5500 depending on ur choice, when last did u as a person encounter food scarcity since Jonathan became president? or u have forgotten how food scarcity occur in Nigeria like fuel before. mr ma u don't know anything. even a blind man who cant see has better cognisance than you

Around 2010, 2011, a bag of rice rose to N12,000 during Christmas season.

How will dis affect the price of Garri in the market ? can't you see that this bolded line has disappeared from Nairaland ? The Garri team has been dismantled.

I once bought 6 Cups of Garri for N200. Today it is 10 cups of Garri for N200.

GEJ take it easy..

ARE FARMERS RICH?
www.myagricworld.com
Can Agricultural Business or farm work Alone make you wealthy As Dangote/Adenuga

If you go into agriculture from the scratch with little capital as will have said, in NIGERIA? You would even be struggling to pay your bills talk less of living above average, talk less of becoming a millionnaire and talk less of being a Dangote and Adenuga, Who told u those 2 guys are farmers in the 1st place? www.myagricworld.com
You will be making common mistakes if you call Dangote a farmer, Dangote is an Agri-businessman not a farmer.... to view know my opinion on this Question... visit the link below www.myagricworld.com ..

I have noticed that majority of GEJ's giant strides are in the north,; almajiri schools, universities, railways, boko fight, why then do they hate him so much.
GEJ till 2019

The beneficiary of this government agricultural programmes are mainly political farmers and corporate farmers that has little link or no link to farm at all.
Majority of smallholders farmers that constitute the main producers of food crops never gets any form of assistance from the government.

I wish there isn't so much hate in the heart of these people! What Buhari, IBB and other northern leaders could not do, even knowing that agriculture drives their local economy, this man has done, with no tribal sentiment; just looking at the big picture: Nigeria.

Anyway, God knows what is in the heart of men. He will give us our leader, despite the rantings in this platform. The way people talk sometimes makes me to wonder if they will ever expect any commendation all their life for any good done. If yes, it starts by appreciating and commending what others have done. The measure you give is what you receive. It is a natural law.

Please don't say that unless you have proofs to support your claims, the new Agric. Transformation Agenda actually targets small holder farmers and the subsidised farm inputs are getting to them big time. Now, the govt can do more but they little they did is getting to the targets because they have eliminated the middle men. It's working.

NB
I'm not campaigning for anyone, GEJ or GMB, but that's the truth up there
