If you can't vouch for the quality of the meat, cook it. The nutrient loss is minimal. If you don't have much time, cook it in a microwave oven. Raw frozen chicken is safer because it has already been frozen, which would have killed most of the parasites in it. |

Seun:I think feeding raw meat is a good idea as it is close to what they eat in the wild before they were domesticated by man. I have done a little research on this topic and discovered there a lot of health benefits feeding your dog with raw meat.. However, i am very much concerned with the kind of meat be it chicken or beef you feed your dog. The proponents of this school of thought are from the West where everyone adheres to an ethical standard. I have seen most people who claim to feed their dogs raw meats but only buy stale meats or chickens that have been confirmed as non-edible to humans due to its poor storage or failure to pass the import standard. In other words they feed their dogs with contaminated or infected meat especially the unscrupulous breeders. Secondly, the frozen chicken is also a big source of worry to me concerning the preservatives that were used to preserve it from wherever it is coming from up until it gets to Nigeria, it will only be reasonable to cook such meat/chicken before eating than eating it raw. I am of the school of thought that if you want to feed raw then you should feed your dog with healthy chicken or meat otherwise it should be cooked. I love dogs and treat them like humans and not like something that is meant to live on trash. |

I do boil meat, fish and chicken a little; before feeding. Sometimes I feed raw. Especially when I am confident of a clean source. I feed foetus strictly raw. I don't boil at all. |

ireny:Stop misleading people with your unproofed claim. Dogs are meant to eat meat not rice. |

Raw feeding is a NO NO for me. I don't wanna share my home with a wild beast. |

aguizm:Lol, I don't think eating a raw meat would turn a dog to a "wild beast". A dog could be wild even if give the dog bread with butter. |
