Hey,tnx for responding, am to resume in September by Gods grace,saint marys university. The finance bit is scary though esp wit ds exchange rate issues. I am also a bit skeptical about the school,educational standard nd all.was hoping someone in canada can provide insights
I would appreciate any info from u or anyone else on the province. ,job opportunities etc
Job opportunities will surely abound. Early September is the right time to search for on campus jobs. Off campus jobs may be obtained through agents. You will get a lot more info on this when you get down there. Tip: why don't you email someone in Saint Mary's since you've gotten admission already.

Above all, try and settle in earlier than stated.

450 per person for one room.
There are cheap cities too where you can get 350.
You should factor this in while looking for your choice Institution or program.
Thanks br...

pchax, i use rebtel and it's C$12.41/$9.90 for 270 mins to naija monthly.
Oh... thanks. That's an upgrade on the call card that i presently use at 10 CAD for 140 Minutes

Snappyfingaz: I use Telbo. You have to download the app to your phone and call over Wi-Fi network. They charge 0.028cents per minute to Nigeria.
Would definitely download. Thanks baba!

you didnt add money for textbooks.. cos i spend $1k + every semester on textbooks.. abi your school na free textbooks? my house rent is $450/m. the truth is, you CAN'T hustle and raise your tuition fees.. a semester is just 3months+. how do you intend to raise $6k5 = N1.1m as a full-time student? even under table wont raise it. unless you're totally out of school... Canada is a nice place no doubt.. Canada needs your money.. you pay tax on daily living of things you purchase. even ordinary salt and pepper..
Baba... We no dey use textbook as such in my field and my program but they go kill you with research papers. We also have free access to some top libraries where we can get papers, journals and SOME textbooks for free if need be. I guess that is how in most schools for people in a research program.
Nevertheless, I sympathize with you on the 1k/semester. That is pretty "criminal". You guys can find a way of circumnavigating that price naaa. Maybe look for the books online or like 5 of you should come together, 4 out of the 5 contribute the money for one book and the 5th person scans it for the rest of the group. I don't know your system shaaa but formula suppose dey smiley

Please outline your expenses for those looking to learn a thing or two about living costs.
Province/Location [xx] ==> Windsor, Ontario

Rent [xx-xx] ==> $300/Month (all inclusive)
Transportation [xx] ==> School is trekable. So basically 0 - $10 (majorly on trips to go get groceries).
Food [xx-xx] ==> $200 (I cook and I eat 3 times a day and two courses per meal. I barely eat out)
Entertainment [xx-xx] ==> Premiership and Champions League on my laptop or in the lab.
Phone: [xx]==> $25/month. ~$20 on call cards for Nigeria calls (varies depending on how long or little I call).
Total Monthly Expense [xx-xx] ==> $550 - $600

You have to understand that I am just a jjc in Canada so no place to go except research lab. I predict transportation cost will bump up when I start having places to go. Also, settling down chops a lot of money. Which can be almost double the Monthly Expense I listed there. Winter Jacket, Winter boots, Pots etc all chop BIG money.

@siga @pchax @mrnillobrown and the house
kindly help me take a look at this paragraph in my SOP

"It should be noted that I haven’t undergone the National Youth Service corp (NYSC) program which all graduates are expected to undergo. I intend to come back and undergo the programme as it is the only way I can legally be at the helms of affairs at my dads company, As without it I cannot successfully bid for a contract. A situation which would spell doom for the company and throw about two decades of hard work of my dad into the bin"
