Congrats to the Nigerian Military for their recent gains in the fight against the insurgency group boko haram. But the question that comes to mind is why was the fight not intensified as it is now before this 6 weeks extension? Why did it take the top military generals this long to make up their mind to fight boko haram even with the billions they were given over the years? Could it be because they wanted to be getting huge capital votes in their budget at the expense of those under boko haram attack? Your problem is lack of understanding and exposure. Nigerians should be ashamed of her military and SSS, all the pictures so far showed that these guys are operating on a clear plain vast land carved out of Nigeria, unlike Osama linked terrains you are wrongly comparing with Nigeria situation. Afghanistan is a different world on earth.
We are getting results now because fearless Chad, Niger, Cameroon etc are actively involved in the operation Not because Nigeria is singularly running down the insurgents,Nigeria would have loved to do that, but they lack the capacity, intelligence and CIC

We will not be ashamed of our military to satisfy your silly political inclinations. We will not get down into the mud with you. Our military has done us proud, working under extremely difficult conditions and containing the conflict within certain zones. Without them you will not have democracy thoughtless of a government thoughtless of forth coming elections.

So I suggest you accord respect to those who have paid the supreme price and offer their lives day after day so you can live in peace and publish whatever you please.

For your information, 1. This is an insurgency the military is facing which means Boko Haram is not a regular army. They can carry an AK one minute and farming tools the next so blending into the communities is not a problem for them. 2. Peoples of the region share the same heritage across the border into Chad, Niger and northern Cameroun. These borders are porous so the co.operation of those countries hitherto absent has made a substantial difference. 3. The transition to democracy and the consequent backlash against decades of military rule resulted in deliberate under funding, disinvestment and demobilisation of the armed forces. Equipment, logistics, training and manpower has been cut since 1999.

All these challenges are being overcome and we can see the results emerging on the field. However I remain adamant that there is no military solution to this problem because the reasons are deep rooted and fundamental. But as Nigerians we owe it a duty to protect our institutions and insulate them from partisan politics because they remain even when politics and governments change and we seriously depend on their stability for our collective survival.

Trust me, this interview is just for the media.

This is not how the army interrogates terrorist.
