The social media masks who we truly are.

We all have the image of the perfect girl or guy in our heads. As intelligent as we are, we can study people merely from the words they type, how they type it, the meaning their words carry and so forth. So when we read mere words from a moniker, we are intrigued, we want to know more about the person behind it cos their words and composure fits the image of the dream guy or girl in our heads. We click the profile of the said person and try to glean more from what we can see. If there is no picture on the profile, curiosity heightens. Curiosity becomes stalking because we now want to update our self with what this person is up to and hoping for when a pic would be made available.

If a pic is made available or is available, we try to fit the image of the person into the image of the person in our head. Even if he or she is not as beautiful or as handsome as we might have thought, consolation is taken in the fact that the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart and that a person with such character portrayed via words must be worth it.

Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it's not. Sometimes, it's meant to deceive, sometimes it's not. A sheep like person online is a wolf in reality. A wolf online is most times a sheep in reality. But because of the mask the social media affords, we can be whoever and whatever we want to be. A female moniker could be a male in reality, a male moniker, a female.

However, in the midst of the secrecy and brouhaha surrounding the social media, real people with real characters exist. The key is not about just falling in love, but to use your head while doing so. People fall in love anywhere, online or offline, but refusing to use your head at any point in time, irrespective of where you fall in love makes you nothing but a very big fat ass fool.

Fall in love, but be very smart about it.

See if I give a rat's ass if you like it or not. Didn't create it for congeniality.

That username has a significant meaning for me; that's all that matters.

You still working on visualizing me? smiley
