My Oga... long time! My B.Sc transcript is on its way to me...u know ACS (Systems Analyst) wants it from us directly (scanned, certified and uploaded) so I am hijacking it as my school won't give me by hand. I don't know when I will be through with my M.Sc project...are u sure I can get a positive result for my skill assessment with my diploma and B.Sc? My work experiences and years are OK but they won't get me any migration points (worked while studying).

Other folks get it positive from other assessing bodies.

Others should pitch in with what they know about Nigerian bachelor's degrees and Australian Computer Society. My M.Sc project supervisor is on leave and with this everything-after-elections excuse, delay is a problem.

I wouldn't want to pay additionally to force a review that will bring in the Masters degree. Again, I'm tired of waiting.

That visa type is from state nominations which means you live and work in ur nominated rural area for four years before breaking away if u wish. Go a page back to see what I said about how to search fort those.

Go to ACS site to know which ANZSCO u will claim based on ur duties. Then lodge for the skill assessment which involves ur B.Sc transcript and certificate etc certified and uploaded and u pay 500AUD.

It is not compulsory you do IELTS but it is you do one of IELTS GT, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBt, Cambridge Advanced English or OET and obtain proficiency or proficiency plus category or even competent level.

All should get u points close to 50...it involves ur age, years of work experience, B.Sc! State nomination brings 10 points for subclass 489 or 5 points for 190. Baseline is 60 points!

Your spouse may do ACS skill assessment to bring in 5 points.

I av a nigerian Bsc (2.1) and an Msc (UK). But Vic nomination doesnt boil down to degrees nor grades, but niche skills in demand in one's career path/nominated occupation.

Do u think I should lodge for skill assessment without waiting to wrap up my Ms? I know our assessing bodies are different... but I wld like ur general view. I want to commit in March.

Great. Diploma in Computer Science for two yrs, B.Sc in Computer Science for 4yrs and M.Sc in Info Tech for one yr. Project completion is pending (Nigerian factor). I have been begging...done all I can..no way. I could have got d testimonial and proceed. I have paid for its transcript.

When I tested the waters in 2008, I naively used my diploma only and its equivalent was their certificate IV.

Diploma started 2004 and ended 2006. B.Sc started 2009 and finished 2013. M.Sc started January 2014...done all d coursework exams.

I started job in 2002...I'm claiming suitability from 2007 to 2013 duties. I worked with one company throughout.

Stopped job Dec 2013.

ACS has minor and major ICT contents yardstick. When you have major, esp from ur transcripts..u get to have say two yrs of relevant work experience ...with minor u need to show more work years of relevant exp..none related ICT qualifications... most relevant work experience and years.
Mainly, ACS may not award migration points or/& DIBP allot points to work experience got if it is from post-qualifications. There is another clause...that says job history of four years within d last ten years. I wrote to ACS...they said DIBP will interprete and award as they don't do so.

My concern is largely on compatibility (academic qualifications) as I'm almost sure of suitability (work experiences and years).

Use WWW.immi.gov.au and Google immigration to Australia assessing bodies. Type in subclass 189, 190...u kick off from there.

I think the route is same criteria for PR , but if u go through advance diploma it will make u to be under SVPs, but for other u will be in AL3. Advance diploma is a bit easier.,
