I got ticket online,American airlines, had someone buy it for me from here, but you can try it since its onoine you should be able to buy just leave like 2hrs after your landing time here because of poe and baggae clearance.

isysleek Abeg no vex, just got back to Naija and was so tired to check my mails. I hope apologies accepted...oyaa smile abeg,ok to the main things requested

1) child Birth given on Docsperati website is correct no addition or subtraction.

2) Babies papers immediately after birth its best to tell the lady collecting documentations that you are in a hurry to return to nigeria so BC can come out with a week ours we made a mistake and just relaxed it came out after 3 weeks.

3) check www.epcounty.com for bc after like a week to start monitoring once name is out next is to go to the county office for birth certificate it would cost like $46 dollars to get 2,its safe to get 2...Bus fare is $1.50 but cab is like $30

4) After BC collection proceed to American passport office to get baby Blue Passport which cost $165 endure you take exact amount because they dont always have time to be looking for change for you. The location for bc collection and passport issuance are walking distance to each other

5) we got ours in 2 days submiited on frday and monday by 2 it was ready.

4) Expedited Nigerian visa cost us $350 ,one day and we used courier service of $79 because we did not want stories that touch also you would buy return envelop budget like $4 for that.

all my baby documentation was out withing 3 days after the bc came out but to be on safe sie plan a week after BC.

Money order for Naija passport was bought at walmart which is a walking distance from intown suites.

Rough estimate ----Hospital bill $5400

pediatician --------$60

we dint do hearing test w dont have hearing problem for my house...... grin,if you accept budget like $200 for that

Baby piercing was like $100

Intown suites double bed is $239.00 per week, single is like $179 per week include tax of $40 for first payment.

All in all with $10k you are good to go just have like $3k misscellenous.

Once again apologies for late response.

This one people have started planning another return for birthing ...hmmmm let me think about it sha ...oyaaa let me ask madam if i can start jogging around for another duty ... grin

A special thank you to all members of this thread oooo,we learnt alot and decided Elpaso from here,May GOD replenish our pockets and give our wives strength, and for all expectant mothers ,we shall be here to rejoice with everyone...

Oga Tvegas i hail ooooo,Phema,Kisluv,Ogaa Ade,zeezahbee,

Hello house, still waiting for a response to my post below.

Those who have stayed/staying in intown suites in El Paso, Pls assist o! Thank you.

@isysleek it depends on how you intend to sleep with the baby. If the baby will sleep on the bed with you after he is born, them go for a 2 bed room. If you intend to get a cot or bassinet for the baby, then a one bed will work.

I got a bassinet for my baby and he slept on the bed occasionally. Some people get one bed and get an extra mattress or something to sleep on the floor with.

Hope this helps!

Congrats mom 2015,

Please did you request for the wheelchair when checking in or you have made the request online while paying for the ticket?

On a lighter mood, na wa for you, how can you carry rice to US when they grow rice in US as we grow maize in naija. They have better varieties of rice- long grain and is very cheap. You just gave those people avenue to seize your stuff. The goodnews is that you can get it in any of their stores.

I requested for a wheel chair and I had priority treatment all through the checkpoints.

Agriculture seized my rice (lol) and I didn't have any issues at the security check.

I'll be taking my two year old with me and I can't imagine him staying home all day cas he loves being around people. Is there somewhere l can drop him off to play with other kids? Generally, how are the people, sights and sounds of El Paso? After all we are supposed to be going for vacation and childbirth cheesy cheesy

Ok, since I can't sleep now, lemme share my experience:
1. I flew from PH to lag, on getting to PH airport, Aero refused to fly me cos I was 32weeks+4days! Said their policy for preggies is 32weeks, like joke like joke, flight took off without me after they have even issued boarding pass! So I quickly bought arik dat has 34wks policy and got a refund from aero. Arik still had to confirm from pilot before they accepted and took my fit to travel.

2. Got to lag, no worries at all. Checked in with KLM, they didn't ask for fit to fly.Arranged passenger assistance for my gran cos she came with me. Declared my $10k cash to naija custom.

3. At Amsterdam, dey asked my purpose of traveling to the USA, told them vacation and child birth.

4. I arrived Minneapolis as planned, used fast track cos I got passenger assistance.
CBP: first took my finger print + gran's own. Why are you here?
Me: vacation and child birth
CBP: Who is dis woman to you and wht she is here
Me: My granma and to assist when baby arrives
CBP: Gave my passport to an officer and asked to follow him

At Secondary inspection, I was the only one there. 5 minutes after, an officer came and called me alone.
He asked the following questions:

Why are you in the USA? Vacation and child birth.

Asked for doctor's letter, presented Dr Fagbohun's letter to him, studied it extensively. Asked how much cash I had, told him $10k, asked of naira, said 580naira so he changed it to $10, 002 and declared I had above 10k. Gave me a form to fill. Asked if I told the VO my intention and I said I didn't do interview but Dropbox and so I had to send the embassy a mail of my travel intent. Asked where I work, if they were paying my bills, told him no that I'm paying for myself. Asked about my husband, his job and others.

The whole session took like 30mins cos he was seriously typing and I think the system was kinda slow too. He didn't bother counting my cash. Asked how much my gran has and what she came to do in d US and who brought her. After all, he stamped us B2 for 6 months and advised that I keep all receipts. Our bags were not searched.

The whole process made me miss my connecting flight to Houston and Delta rescheduled at no extra cost.

Lessons learnt: Be confident and straight forward. Every little counts like informing the embassy. I didn't get the regular response only auto response but I was fine because there is an evidence that I informed them.

A very special thanks to members of this thread for your unreserved way of sharing information. God bless you all that answered NICELY when questions where asked especially Prolify ! She's such an amazing virtual friend ! Led me all through from Dropbox application up until POE ! God bless you dearie and your lil one. Thanks to Tvegas for his comprehensive guide. It is really helpful.

Oya lemme try to sleep, still need to sort out accommodation. I'll share when I'm done too.
how many weeks ticket did you buy. Every 1 is saying buy two to three weeks and I am preggy. I dnt have any doctors appointment nor letter to d embassy. Help. Can't even lie
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by FinanceFitness: 6:52am On Mar 02, 2015
Funny how I feel Elpaso was so boring, other than shopping, a zoo or so and movies, nothing much to do. Also, because transportation is mostly by cab- there are buses though, you end up staying indoors most of the time.

Or was my experience because I was pregnant/ just had a baby?

Houston will be way better, not sure of Atlanta though.
