JayKayMaybachz:LVG obviously smokes Shisha although recently it appears he has changed supplier...... fellaini should never be playing in the hole.....if were United's coach I'll play DDG in the hole ahead of him. still we are doing well...it was never going to be easy recovering from last season's disaster....we'll get there eventually... LVG'S focus should be to qualify us for Europe next season that way we can attract players of considerable quality in the summer. |

chrisley024:Di Maria will be fine. Just look at that guy Chelsea bought from Fiorentina. What's is name sef? Coldrum? Parker is angry with Gaal's slow game, he's trying to pass a message to Gaal. |

I don't think Mata will be able to do for the team what Fellaini does in fist half of games. Fellaini's only failing is his second half. Fellaini wins virtually all contest in the final third, in first half of games. That's where every of our player has been bullied this season. Fellaini does the reverse by bullying the oppositions in contest. He lacks creativity but he is the reason we are able to hold the ball in that part of the field. |

Ashley Young could miss Manchester United's clash with Tottenham on Sunday. The winger limped out of Old Trafford following United's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal after taking a knock. When asked how bad the problem was, Young would only say: "We'll see." Van Gaal recently said of Young: “He is a player who wants to perform what you say. I think he fits good in my profile. “We have played also with wing-backs and I think that is his best position. Now I use him as a winger and he does a very good job. I am pleased with him.” [Source: Mirror] .......................... Angel Di Maria will silence his doubters and become a success at Manchester United in the long term, Rio Ferdinand insists. Ferdinand sees no reason to doubt the Argentina international and has urged the fans to give Di Maria the time he needs to fully adapt to the Premier League. "I thought Di Maria was a great signing for United and I still think he was a good signing because he is a top player, "He was arguably Madrid’s best player last year, him and Ronaldo were their standout players. I think he is a highly talented player. "But it always takes time for a player to adapt to his new surroundings, especially when you go to a foreign league. Not every player can be like Ronaldo and just turn up and instantly become a superstar. Maybe it will take Di Maria a bit longer. It might take him a year, you never know. "But his style does suit the Premier League. He is quick, runs at people, hungry to create chances and commit people. I think he is a very talented player and I like him." Rio also had his say on United's defensive frailties this term, but stressed that bringing in fresh blood is not necessarily the answer. "I think they just need to settle their defence. They have not been able to pick the same defence for two or three games on the bounce and I think that has hurt them." [Source: goal.com] ........................................ Louis van Gaal will be given the funds to recruit at least four new players at Manchester United this summer, but uncertainty hangs over as many as 10 members of the first-team squad. United have regularly scouted Nathaniel Clyne, with the 23-year-old's progress over the past 18 months seeing him emerge as a target. Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte - a 20-year-old France Under-21 international - has also been repeatedly monitored by United, and Van Gaal always remains a firm admirer of Mats Hummels. Van Gaal's long-term desire to take Kevin Strootman to Old Trafford has suffered a setback with the Roma midfielder now sidelined until pre-season following knee surgery. United's attacking options will be addressed this summer and the likelihood for Radamel Falcao is being sent back to Monaco, and that would ensure that Robin van Persie remains at Old Trafford to see out the final year of his contract. Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has been scouted by United for the past two seasons, while Van Gaal is also considering Burnley forward Danny Ings, who will be available for a compensation figure of around £5 million when his Turf Moor contract expires in June. The prospect of signing a new goalkeeper is also a possibility if David de Gea forces a move to Real Madrid. Having allowed 14 players to leave Old Trafford last summer, Van Gaal must decide the futures of several players whose contracts expire in June or at the end of next season. Michael Carrick will be offered a new contract, with Ashley Young also considered for a new deal, but the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, Javier Hernandez and Rafael da Silva are all under threat of being sold. If Falcao will be returned to Monaco, I will want us to get Harry Kane. He is used to the EPL and he will bring something different. Ability to take on defenders. |

I couldn't believe it when Mourinho removed Ramires for Drogba. Too bad EPL teams have failed but good for Chelsea fans who were quoting me two nights ago. If I got angry when I wake up, they would see me in their thread. EPL teams don't get motivated when Man United is not in Europe. |

pazienza:18 points where for upgrabs against the eventual top 3 you only took 5 points Chelsea took 16 points Man city took 8 and destroyed the lesser teams. Also for added measures you lost against us at our worst ( those two above didn't). The season isn't over yet,Di Maria still has that going for him,say he comes back and help to maybe 2nd place the critics change their story. What is Ozil's excuse ? Even our want away, Welbeck has done more than he has. If currently occupying the top 4 position is the standard for mediocrity what does that say about a team that has celebrated getting that position for perennial years now ? |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by pazienza(m): 7:55am On Mar 12, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:Chelsea took16 points and still finished third, it's a league, wins against the top teams gives the same point as wins against the minnows. We lost 4 points to Man u, and still finished well above Man u. It was the points dropped away at Southampton, away at Everton, Man United home and away, that eventually. cost Arsenal the title. We finished just 7 points behind the Eventual winners Man City, we had the luxury of losing to Liverpool( away)Man City(away)and Chelsea(away) and still win the league. What killed Arsenal was injury crisis, we self destroyed. No, Man u are not mediocre because they are currently occupying 4th position, albeit having been playing easier oppositions and now set to play the big boys, but because Man u play is too mechanical, unconvincing and uninspiring, your wins against minnows have elements of luck written all over it, your team is full of overpaid mediocre players like Shaw, or has beens like Rooney and in Van gal you have an over hyped mediocre has been manager. The trepidation in your camp is that you might not finish top four looking at the your fixture schedule, and many believed that your only chance of redemption is winning FA cup, and now Arsenal has taken that from you too. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by pazienza(m): 8:03am On Mar 12, 2015 |
taiwoliu:Even in the worst days of Arsenal when we had Chamakh as our top striker and Silvestre as our center back, we never finished outside the top four. Man u is the definition of failure, having splashed millions in transfer market, and in overbloated salaries on mediocre players and manager , Man u finished outside top four last year and are bound to finish outside top four this year. Your competition to top four is Liverpool, they are going to displace you, not Arsenal who are above you already. Deal with it, Your era of dominance is over, accept your New mediocre status, it happens, look at AC Milan, a bigger and far more prestigious club than Man u. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SIRcumalot: 9:13am On Mar 12, 2015 |
pazienza:I reduced the sample size, against the top 7 you're fifth Against the bottom half of the table last season you lead the table,it clear that a couple more point against the stronger teams would've improve your league standing. Hiding behind injury crisis is convenient, all teams suffer from injuries,we can even blame our poor performance last season and to some extent this current one on key injuries too our top players so tell me something new. Van gaal is more proven than your coach pointing to accolades is a waste of both our time. We have money and we spend it, What has saving more done for your club, losing your best player since Henry to a direct rival where he won the league almost entirely by himself ? Or turning to a glorified feeder's club for Man city ? Getting back into the top 4 is enough consolation for me somebody has to save the EPL UEFA coefficient rating. Since Chelsea can't get the job done and Arsenal can't be trusted . |

I think d EPL representatives d season in UCL have failed woefully n I think EPL teams needs to start taking European games seriously like dia Spanish n German counterparts ,for example look at d Liverpool team dat bowed out of Europa league ,Brendan rested his key players for d match against city instead of securing qualification into d next round first even when de only lead 1-0 from d first leg ,who does such things? EPL teams r no longer dominating Europe as de used to do ,when in d semi finals u would hv 3 EPL teams in dia but no more ,teams leave d group stages like it's dia birthright now ... I think manutd, with d amount of cash at our disposal , should do a PSG |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 10:49am On Mar 12, 2015 |
parrotibaba:true about EPL representatives. I also think we have good enough players which just need a little upgrade - leader in central defence, an agile stronger Carrick, and a younger van Persie - coupled with the return of Nani & freedom from LvG for these lads to play football the way they know how to & enjoy {i fear this may be too difficult for LvG to subscribe, but let's hope with better understanding of the league he can mellow on the rigidity} |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:05am On Mar 12, 2015 |
parrotibaba:and this exactly was what keane was saying 2 days ago. we have to let go of the fergie era and start again. some of our fans believe splashing the cash to get world class players isn't the united way.....what the fück is the united way? even barcelona with the best youth factory spent gazillions of money under pep. real madrid haven't stopped spending money in the last 20 years. united make plenty of money and you still find substandard players like jones, valencia, januzaj, etc in our first team. we should really go out there & get a proper first XI. fergie's way is in the 90s. his competitors then did not spend money so it was so easy for him to compete. these days, everyone is spending money - why are we holding back? we can never be on the wrong side of FFP - so what's the issue here? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by parrotibaba(m): 11:15am On Mar 12, 2015 |
coogar:yeah ,look at city ,4 years ago de were nobody but now de r challenging for d league title year after year ,Ed needs to splash a lot of cash in d summer ,we need quality players n not just in our first eleven but also on our bench ...I think dis was d reason pep refused to come to united ,because of lack of quality players ,also we need to learn how to play with ten men |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:35am On Mar 12, 2015 |
parrotibaba:we are the worst team on the planet with 10 men. i dunno the kinda players we have these days - no guts, no character. their heads simply drop after a red card & things fall apart. it's like they are happy to have an excuse to lose. the last time we performed with 10 men was in 1999 when giggs destroyed arsënal in the FA cup semis. even in fergie's last season against madrid. we didn't react positively to nani's red or rafael's red against bayern. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 11:48am On Mar 12, 2015 |
coogar:do you think we need that many players? about half of our first team joined/started playing football proper only last summer. the Fergie era is as good as gone, how many of our current players even worked with Fergie? the "new phase" thing has not been as smooth as envisaged by Fergie himself, so last season was just a total waste of time - there was absolutely no bridge for continuation, so we fell & smashed our shells hard on the rocks. this will need time & its just year one of dragging ourselves back up. a solid landing is making the Champions League next season. once that is achieved, we will have platform for further recruitment of top players. with UCL, a year of settling for our last summer signings & a good stack of cash to throw around, we certainly getting our mojo back in no time. but I'll most definitely want to see our flair players play with freedom. they all seem shackled by instructions & whatnots - its not helping @ all. do you have a .gif of David Luiz goal? |

parrotibaba:Excuses and story for the gods. Are you telling us chelsea man city arsenal in the Champions League didn't take their games serious? They were outplayed simple. English league has been shown to be a weak league that's benefiting from the media hype. If the top team can't beat 10 men for over 90mins |
