The truth is that as at the time of the robbery, the state was under-policed cos of the visit(political) of Jonathan to Lagos for the upteenth time. It would have made sense if Jonah came to Lagos to commission projects but its highly apologetic to know he came cos of elections.

Armed robbers are not daft and robbing a bank is very hard work that needs very specific plans and contingencies. No robber wants to die or fail in their robbery mission and they are always looking for loopholes to increase the success rate.

compare when you have an extra 1000 policemen to when you have zero backups.


If you won't be blinded by hate or tribal sentiments. When is the best possible time to have limited resistance to a crime than when the fire power and personnel of the police is stressed tin. For every dignitary that visited with the President, there is atleast 5 police orderlies for them. Not to talk of those patrolling an 100 metres perimeter of where the event is to be held, to the roads leading there and the state house where he is lodged.

Nothing less a thousand police officers would have been drafted for the president's visit. Even DPOs won't be spared of field work for that day.

It just tells us that we need to plan better in future and the president should limit his physical presence in areas where his presence would cause a strain on Public services.

Just saying it would have made much more sense if he was in Lagos for something MEANINGFUL. Nothing justifies the loss of lives though. Just highlighting the fact that Jonathan has nothing much to show off in Lagos after 5 years and he keeps temporarily under-policing the state with his annoying visit.
