Heard Rojo z got a slight knock... And Young too. I think LVG will stick with Carrick and Fellaini and maybe play Blind at left back...
Carrick & Fellaini double pivot? LvG will be a fool to even try it. Even Moyes discovered its a glaring waste of space!

There's Jones, Smalling & Shaw to complete the defence if Rojo is unavailable

Key quotes from Van Gaal's managers press conference:
Players' reaction after the defeat on Monday:
"They've reacted fantastically in the training sessions, I cannot speak more highly about the professional attitude of my players. They are willing to do everything. I have the same confidence as before. I'm very pleased with the (players') reaction & I hope we can show that against Spurs - the first of 10 matches in the rat race. Every game is very important, we must keep the fighting spirit & we have to be more effective in finishing our chances."
On Falcao in the U21s:
"I have read in a lot of papers that it is a humiliation, I don't think so, It's a professional attitude of the management and the club but especially also for the player. Not only has Falcao played but also Valdes and Rafa Da Silva.
"Every player needs match rhythm. We pay a lot for the players, so it is normal they play football for us, that also includes the second team, I have explained already five months ago that every player who doesn't play in the first-team has to play sometimes.
"Falcao didn't play his best game in the second team but he tried to do his utmost best, and I cannot ask more than that from my players. Falcao has not reacted like the media. That is a big difference."
On Rafael in the U21s:
"Rafa played a very good match and scored a wonderful goal and because of that he can grip again his confidence."
On the Spurs game:
"They have a lot of talent because when you see the selection, you see a lot of youngsters playing and a lot of older players with experience who are not. That’s also nice to see, the process of another club. I have to say they are playing well and I hope we can beat them - it shall be very difficult again."
On Injuries:
"Van Persie is United's only confirmed absentee for Spurs but Rojo (minor problem) is a doubt."

Paul Scholes says he can see what Louis van Gaal is trying to do with United but he thinks it doesn't suit the players he has.
"Watching United at Old Trafford on Monday, I know what Louis van Gaal is trying to do with this team. I do like the concept. I just question whether he has the players to do it.
"In recent weeks, Van Gaal has tried what I would describe as a more Barcelona-style approach to games. It has worked against the weaker teams but it is against the stronger sides that you have to wonder whether it will be found out.
"To play this way, you really need to be exceptional. Barcelona can do it because they have the players and they have been playing this way for years. United have spent around £220m in the last three transfer windows and yet I would question whether they have the players to operate this system.
"I understand what Van Gaal is trying to do. I like that he is playing with the wide players. I also know that as former players we cannot harp on about the old days for ever. Things change, although I believe that certain principles, of attacking, entertaining football, should always be protected. Like any other match-going fan – I have two season tickets for Old Trafford – I want to see the team play well and win. I just don’t think this system is the best for these players.
"I still believe that Van Gaal is the right man for the job. I don’t think he will change his mind about the way he wants the team to play. He is a stubborn man and that is no bad thing in football. But I am afraid to say that if he wants to play this Barcelona style then the club will have to go back into the transfer market this summer to get the players they need to do it."

Louis van Gaal insists it is not so easy to throw Radamel Falcao back into action, admitting that Wayne Rooney’s form in the striking position is making it tough for him
On Tuesday, he played 71 minutes for United’s under-21 team in front of few spectators, with treports that he was sluggish and twice blocked goalbound shots from a teammate.
Speaking about Falcao, Van Gaal said: “I have read that it was a humiliation, but I don’t think so, It is not a humiliation. It is a professional attitude of the management, the club but especially also for the player.”
“At a club like Man United, it is more difficult. He has competitors, he know Wayne Rooney is playing there and scoring.
“Every player needs match rhythm, That is why we pay a lot for the players, so I think it’s normal that they play football also for us. That can be also in the second team.
“Falcao did not play his best match in the second team but he has tried his utmost best.”

I don't see Falcao staying beyond this season @ this point. he has to go so we try to sign a wing forward like Reus since LvG is settling on a lone-striker system

of course we can if we offer a good enough deal.

I heard £150m will be made available to LvG for summer transfers+whatever recoup we get from sales. We can get 4 top players with that sum.

Manchester United have opened talks with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent over a shock deal to sign the Real Madrid ace.

Ronaldo’s future has been subject of intense speculation in the last few weeks, with fresh rumours that he’s unhappy with life in Madrid.

The news has apparently alerted United, and now reports in Spain say they’ve contacted Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a return to Old Trafford.

United hope to get Ronaldo for around €100 euros, which works out as £71.1 million pounds.

It’s not clear whether the Portuguese would consider returning to United, but he has often spoken of his love for the club.

LVG is the one causing all the problems with his sturborn and sentimental attitude in his selection and formation. We have said that the players we have may not be able to adapt to his 352 formations which is what paul scholes was alluding to but LVG still kept on playing it until recently.

We have also said that Rooney, Falcao, RVP and wilson should fight for a spot upfront so that creative players like Mata and Herrera can play the number 10 role. Rooney who has been shunted everywhere is now the one he is saying is doing well upfront something we all knew was Rooneys best position instead of playing him deep where he continues to ping balls to the right and left stupidly thereby killing our forward play.

Falcao might not survive this season with this show of shame in the reserve team.

For the record, there are players that I still feel are not United material even if it seems they are doing ok. Its because the mediocrity is too pronounced that's why we see any improvement in a player as playing well. Some of these players will never get a place in a Bayern, Madrid, Barca atleast these are clubs United should be robbing shoulders with.

We should spend the money like PDP!

Expand more on this "United Material" because their will always be players short on talent but makes up for it with hardwork. No team well maybe Madrid can be made up of exceptional players from top to bottom.

Under normal circumstances, fellaini shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 of any top club but at man united, we have him starting over the likes of mata and co in the hole ( after LVG must have realized how poor he is in the midfield ).

I would also continue to say it (though some peeps here have a different opinion ) - Marcos Rojo shouldn't have any business at CB. Even at the worldcup (where it was claimed he did well), I could only see a very average LB who should only serve as backup at a top club.

If the assumption is that the constant chopping and changing by LVG is to have a clear picture of what his team will look like next season, the prayer is that it shouldn't backfire

As for the likes of Evans and falcao, #enoughsaid#!

Mata hasn't done enough to show he deserves to start over Fellani and he had his chance.
He isn't particularly fast, his dribbling skill seems to have eroded and can easily be muscled off the ball.
At least with fellani we know he can hold the ball well and lay it to the wing.(We should aim higher but for now I don't think we've a choice)
Rojo is our only defender that I can honestly say hasn't made a costly mistake this season he was good for his price and has added bonus plays two position.
Can't argue with Falcao his too big a risk.

Well in the absence of anyone better yes, Mata is one of those players that would probably play himself back into form. Similar to Rooney really.

fellaini & mata should start in every game. fellaini is actually very good. he has the best ball retention skill in the entire europe especially when the ball is in the air.

mata is king when the ball is on the ground. young, mata & fellaini should start behind rooney tomorrow. blind & herrera should hold down the midfield. the defence - rafael + smalling + rojo + shaw.

That's because most of the time, he [b]hides in games..

The few times he has attempted to pull his weight, he has looked outta sorts with his mistimed tackles, poor positioning and shii like that.

It's just a pity our problems in Central defence are so bad, players like Evans and rojo get to start because LVG wants a left / right footed CB pairing at all costs! No wonder why e dey chase vermalen that time!

No coach will have Rooney, RVP and Mata and play just one of them. It's easier to say such a thing now that Falcao is obviously off form. How many of us would have supported Falcao be sold in January? Even now I still have my doubt whether if he should be allowed to go.

RVP and Rooney played together in 2012/13 and won the league. Lost the UCL Madrid game to controversial red card.

Andy Cole thinks Rooney and Falcao partnership should be tried. Well, till end of season and we see who stays.
