That trait gives them an edge here in America. Nigerians have been observed to be hardworking, very self-confident, tough and very difficult to intimidate.

Some people are better off ignored. From the way the lady talks it seems she has problems bigger than us and she is merely transferring her frustrations on us. Leave her to her own misery. Maybe her man left her for a Ghana chic lipsrsealed
She is frustrated. The struggle is hard, you can tell by her hard face.

Over-flogged issues. Truth is we Africans are our own worst enemies. Sometimes, we need to listen to the truth, and make positive changes.

By the way, Cocostrawberry is an African beauty. wink

Soup suppose to be watery. all africans make soup like that except nigerians who doesn't know the difference between soup and stew. Seems everyone knows what soup is except nigerians and they all look the same green.

Senegal soup
Liberian soup
Ghanaian soup
Nigerian soup

U act like Nigerians are the only arrogant ones

I have been discriminated for just being Nigerian without pple knowing who i really am

I remember when I and my kenyan friend were discussing with one Cameroonian B1tch, the cameroonian girl said a Naija slang and I was like u Naija girl playfully. .And she was like pls, pls am not Nigeria in disgust! that was rude

Ghanaians also think they are the most well mannered pple on earth especially the women. .every little thing upsets them

Africans in general are very proud!
I know how it feels, I've trekked down that path myself

Truckpusher:
I appreciate your effort in always saying the ugly ,bitter and undiluted truth but sometimes the truth from folks like you is akin to that of the conqueror writing about the battle between them and their enemies ,such truth is always tainted with lies ,bitterness ,wrong perception and of course a cosmetic approach to suit the victorious side.
I have stayed here most of my life and I have seen it all and when I said that Nigeria is moving forward folks like you should either find out the truth for themselves and not sitting on a mountain top and determine the length of a man's hand.

I never said that Nigeria is being envied by anyone, I was merely referring to the giant strides made by Nigerians in all works of life which has made the civilized nations/people to look in awe and admire our resilience as a people even with all our individual battered hopes and lost dreams.

The scam/fraud You keep hammering on is being perpetrated by a small percentage of the people that makes up this great nation and this country can't and shouldn't be classified as such under any circumstances unless by those that are bent on always relegating us to the gutters.
The Nigeria of the 90s is not the same Nigeria we have right now though I totally agree that we have a lot of work to do.
Finally, the burden of building a nation starts from/with a particular generation ,we are passing through a phase just like every other great nation and with one master stroke we would be there it is just a matter of time and that time is already here .
I'm blindly patriotic to Nigeria and that you can't take away from me and this is my greatest asset as a Nigerian .
You'll always see the negative things about Nigeria ,I'll always choose the positives, and work towards the total actualization of it.
So help me God.
That is my doozy, the truck pusher lol. In as much as we don't see eye to eye when it comes to naij, in terms of mentality, approach, methods, and bulls' eye observation - I respect ya opinions. You and I can disagree, have a shooting match, and still pop champaz afterwards like thorough bred Gs - unlike the rest of these caustic folks and their voodoo. Salute.

That said, I think naija's case is somewhat similar to a guy with body odour, or someone who lives in a stuffy room. You wouldn't know how repulsive it is till someone tells you. That is the story of naija. You can't really understand what is wrong with naija until you look at it from the outside - and that is perspective I always bring to the table.

Also, this generation is lost and I doubt anyone will be able to find them (us). The focus should be on the next one, and how to build the future of naij with them. However, it has to start with the system and institutions in that country...but none are functioning right now.

Furthermore, the scam thing isnt about just the minority, it is as Nigerian as the naija Churches I see everyday out here on every street corner and afrobeats. The so-called resilience is overrated since folks from all third world countries and the minorities in every country are like that. You can't be more resilient than Mexicans, Ghanaians, Eastern Europeans etc.. These folks do slave labour with pride just to get by - true story.

Regardless, I was just countering ya assertion about "impeccable record" cos I definitely can't see any. Nigeria is just like any other Black Country out there albeit with population explosion.

Sorry man,Nollywood isn't the best exemple of African creativity!Just by decency,I wont call it a disgrace!Tuface,P SQUARE....etc aren't that talented considering they are singing in English.Had they really been talented, they would be up there with the likes of jay z...etcWhich parts of Africa are Nigerians dominating?I must confess that I admire a group of Africans:The Ethiopians!
They are very low key yet efficient and are doing good things with few natural ressources.
