You sef dey open teeth? Let LVG not come down from his high horse of "I am LVG I know it all and my style or nothing" am happy the players responded with that scintilating performance against Tottenham.

Even this fast paced forward passing positive attitude style will see the likes of Rafael get back into the team cos he likes to bomb forward and if the instruction was to keep possession, it definitely will not favour a player like rafael who moves forward with instincts.

Man U Dressing Room b4 the liverpool match!

LVG - guys how do we approach the game?
Rooney- we go for the kill
Blind- forward passes all the way.
Fellaini- long ball short ball, I will be in their box being a nuisance against them
Carrick- we will move the ball quickly from defence to attack
Smalling- we keep it tidy and neat at the back

LVG - what a out possession

Rooney - Fvvck possession
Young- na possession u wan chop
Mata- them swear for you with possession
Januzaj - I just dey respect your age
De Gea - we want to possess the 3points shikena!

Lvg - okay, am convinced, as a flexible guy, my strategy is now Forward play, that's what I have been thinking!

So in a hurry to lose to Liverpool

just at least take a point from City and you can lay claims to a share of the spoils in our possession

They don't nEed any winter Break
When this same EPL was beating everybody in Europe there wasn't winter break then either.
The league is weak it has been for some time now
It's ignorant to say the winter break doesn't aid the other leagues. Every game in the PL is a battle, imagine having 3 battles in 7 days. Playing through the cold winter period also opens you up to more muscular injuries to do with tightness and tension. Clearly has an impact.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Keky(m): 2:44pm On Mar 20, 2015
While in all the other top leagues, clubs will hardly have 10 or maximum 15 matches of high intensity. For once clubs like Bayern, Barca, Real etc should play a season in PL. They will know how hard it is to endure all these physical battles week in week out and to do well in cup games and European games.

As earlier stated was there a winter break when the EPL dominated Europe ?
Why is it a big problem now ?
if there was no winter break the same thing will still happen the best teams qualified abeg.

Take am easy. Not Gaal's fault. Remember we can play a lone striker now only because RVP is injured. No coach would have Rooney, Falcao and RVP and bench two of them, except when situation has pushed him to the wall.

Even on this thread, we questioned why Falcao was been given substitution roles early in the season. Later we wondered why he was allowed to play just 60 minutes whenever he was started. Even if he knew 4-3-3 was the best for the team, he wouldn't have been able to play it based on the players he had to select.

if they are not exactly performing, it will be best to stick with what will ensure we finish in UCL places. this is the business end of the season & i have read a lot in the news about how we have the toughest run in - on paper - but i think its just the challenge we need to stay fully focused on the task @ hand.

i know we will do well in the home games, hopefully we can find same consistency in the away fixtures as well. we need every point we can pinch from now on, especially away from Old Trafford!

The level of competition is higher... For EPL clubs to compete.. They need that winter break. Desperately. In some ways the UCL results show the overall strength of the PL. Every week is a battle so teams are exhausted for Europe.
Guy bone all this myth and urban legend. Nothing strong about the EPL the level of football is at an all-time low. Your league is all hype and no substance atm

It has nothing to do with exhaustion. Its mediocre that's all

Louis van Gaal has revealed his highly detailed preparation methods ahead of his side's trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
Van Gaal told The Daily Telegraph: "The preparation starts with the scout, Paul Brand, who is analysing the opponent, who selects all the images with Marcel Bout, the opposition scout.
"Marcel Bout goes to watch the opposition two weeks in front of the game, because then we are playing the same circumstances, at home or away.
"Then Ryan Giggs is making a presentation for the players out of the images that Marcel Bout and Paul Brand have selected.
"Then we make a game-plan because of the analysis. Then we discuss the game-plan. The next day we have to present it to the players. Giggs is doing that. So, another meeting with the players.
"Then we go and train the game-plan 11 against 11. Ryan Giggs is coaching the opponent. He has analysed them.
"Albert Stuivenberg has to coach my team. Then we practise different patterns. We film the training session.
"The next meeting is the 'unit meeting': we do defenders, midfielders and forwards.
"Albert has selected the images of the training but also former matches that explains more of our game-plan."

Radamel Falcao is unhappy at Manchester United and felt “weird” when he appeared for the club’s U21s, according to his friend and former agent.
Silvano Espindola, Falcao’s close friend and former representative, says the forward has shed tears over his current predicament at Old Trafford.
“We speak a lot. I am not going to tell you that he feels happy because he isn’t,
“We speak many times, and we cry together. It is not an easy situation because every player wants to play and every goalscorer wants to score goals, that is normal.
“While on his way to the ground to play that match with the youth team he called me, we talked for about 20 minutes while he arrived at the stadium and he told me 'something like this had never happened to me, I don’t know how to handle the situation. I feel weird!’
“He was a little fearful because he is afraid of those matches with the youth teams and of the second and third divisions. In those categories they are used to whacking and going in hard. That was how they injured him in France, with a team from the fourth division.”

...........................

Louis van Gaal believes that Manchester United are the biggest club in world football ahead of Real Madrid.
Van Gaal claimed that on a global level, United are by far the biggest club on the planet.
"We were in the USA and we played against Real Madrid, Liverpool, Roma, Inter Milan and LA Galaxy, five matches in three weeks.
"300,000 fans and I think 280,000 of them in a red shirt. I know that Manchester United is the biggest club of the world.
"Bigger than Real Madrid? Yes. In terms of global appeal, not history.
"I made a trip with my wife through the world when I had a sabbatical year and I was in China and Hong Kong and such football madness in those countries!
"They recognise me everywhere. Unbelievable. And they know Manchester United much more than the manager."

Its not LVG's fault! Its my fault.

So if playing a formation that allows one of your top strikers as lone striker upfront and it gets u the result against a formation that accommodates 2 of them, you'll continue with the 2strikers.

Its a blessing RVP was injured, let them fight for a place. If they are then played 2gether and click good for us, but as we have witnessed here playing 2 out of the 3-4 strikers we have has not helped our cause as expected this season.

If you have not noticed, we are still at the verge of losing out on top 4 with the posse right behind us and kinda brimming with confidence.

Even though I concede it would have been difficult to get back, we have thrown away precious points along the way. Swansea home and away, leicester, that's 9points we ought to have.

Since that WInter break, Madrid, Atletico and Roma have lost steam and they are not the team they were before the break

Same thing happened to Bayern last season after the winter break

One can argue that it breaks momentum

united were super-tired that season. they won the league title on the last day of the season. the FA cup semis was a slugfest.......and we all know how ordinary they looked @nou camp against bayern.
